Would Arlinn be a flip planeswalker like Garruk Relentless  Flip?

IzzetGod says... #2

Nightdragon779: Yes. As she is a werewolf, we all believe that she'll be Human Planeswalker that when flipped; will become a werewolf planeswalker.

Anyone else kinda bummed that Expose Evil isn't just a reprint of Feeling of Dread?

March 9, 2016 7:36 a.m.

Rayenous says... #4

capriom85 - That would be hard to do without using 'Flashback', as it's not a mechanic of the set.

March 9, 2016 8:11 a.m.

Rayenous says... #5

The flavour text of Feeling of Dread is interesting when compared to that of 'Just the Wind'.

Feeling of Dread - People only say "I'm sure it was nothing" when they're sure it was something.

Just the Wind - There's nothing to worry about.

Would have been better if they just had use "I'm sure it was nothing." on Just the Wind... but still nice.

I just looked at the spreadsheet and saw the modern madness. And I must say its madness planning to use tibalt lol

Though give me a few minutes there's a black card you can run that'll be helpful it's on of the skiens.

Found it. It's pretty good against your opponents since you're hurting them while wracking up the value I'd think.

canterlotguardian: I'm very certain that I know the evil reserved list exists. I just want my enemy-colored tangos.

March 9, 2016 8:57 a.m.

shepherdofire says... #9

Why not enemy colored fetches? I dont know why that would be a problem seeing as the allied fetches are rotating.

March 9, 2016 9:18 a.m.

I'm interested in those myself. My Grixis EDH deck needs the U/R Tango land so it isn't feeling incomplete.

March 9, 2016 9:19 a.m.

shepherdofire says... #11

And does anyone think they will reprint Despise? Id like to keep my mono black eldrazi in standard. But Id take an Inquisition of Kozilek instead, fair trade. Even a Thoughtseize. There needs to be a one drop hand removal for creatures and walkers, or anything but NLC. Whats your opinion?

March 9, 2016 9:25 a.m.

-Orvos- says... #12

Theyll reveal the big baddy on the next full moon i bet

March 9, 2016 9:44 a.m.

-Orvos- says... #13

Inquisition of Kozilek will probably only ever be reprinted in a modern masters or other eternal format. Kozilek is dead afterall... He cant do much inquisitioning while dead.

Orvos, I love that as an idea and I hope you're right. We'd have to wait until March 23 though...

Seems she's the only angel that hasn't fallen.

That's just what they want you to think.

March 9, 2016 11:13 a.m.

Phaetion says... #20

So there was a fifth angel, an angel. But she's long dead.

Phaetion says... #22

No, on Innistrad.

March 9, 2016 11:19 a.m.

Rayenous she was mentioned in a card's flavor text, so I assumed she was still alive. and even though that art is pretty freaking sweet... it's just so similar to Sigarda, Host of Herons' art. I mean, she's even got her scythe in basically the same position.

March 9, 2016 11:44 a.m.

JWiley129 says... #24

I wonder if it's whoever this angel is supposed to be.

March 9, 2016 11:47 a.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #25

That's Gisela. She's doing Avacyn's good work, after all, so she gets a new look to reflect that.

Well, it's most likely Gisela. We won't know for sure until a card for that art comes out.

March 9, 2016 11:48 a.m. Edited.

JWiley129 says... #26

That doesn't look like Gisela to me, the armor and hair are all wrong.

March 9, 2016 11:51 a.m.

Agunman says... #27

What if... the fight Avacyn eradicated thousands of years ago returns in SOI? We have seen Reaper of Flight Moonsilver, which is likely not a part of the 3 flights led by Sigarda, Bruna, or Gisela.

March 9, 2016 11:54 a.m.

Is it too much to ask for a pure evil angel? Like a angel?

EDIT: Or hell, just a angel. Like maybe a Kaalia-esque angel?

March 9, 2016 11:59 a.m. Edited.

JWiley129 says... #29

canterlotguardian - cough Tariel, Reckoner of Souls cough

But I know what you're saying. A angel would be cool, but I doubt we'll be getting a Wedge colored card in this set.

March 9, 2016 12:02 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #30

Gisela, Blade of Goldnight.

Hair looks pretty similar to me. I'll give you the armor, but Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Avacyn the Purifier don't have the same armor either (notably she's wearing more armor when purifying). She's also in a similar pose as the new Sigarda art.

But at the end of the day, it's all speculation until the art's printed on a card.

March 9, 2016 12:02 p.m.

Ugh why do I keep forgetting Tariel exists? She's even one of my recurring Commanders. But she isn't Standard legal, so... Plus I'd like a new Angel that has something to do with nabbing free Angels.

March 9, 2016 12:06 p.m.

MurderHood says... #32

@GoldGhost012, JWiley129: Based on the art, I'd say it's Angel of Flight Alabaster but decked out with armor and weapons. (P.s. I can't see the picture, but assuming on the conversation with is just like others I've heard, it's the art for Clip Wings?)

March 9, 2016 12:19 p.m.

JWiley129 says... #33

MurderHood - Nope, new art from the Story this week.

kanokarob says... #38

Whatever Nahiri is doing is definitely what is cause Avacyn's madness, but whether that is Nahiri's goal or it is a product of her true intentions isnt clear from the story. Sigarda appears to be the only angel, along with probably/possibly her flight, that isnt being affected by the force/Avacyn.

We also learn to some degree that while Avacyn is an angel, she is also at the same time not quite an angel. This is of course because she was created by Sorin, and is likely the major reason why she is so affected by, whatever is affecting her.

And in my opinion, it is looking less like the Eldrazi are behind this. Emrakul can twist living things and even cause madness, but something is putting words into Avacyn's mind. That sounds like intelligence that we know the Eldrazi lack, they are pure instinct and hunger.

March 9, 2016 1:07 p.m.

elpokitolama says... #39

Marit Lage hype aaaaaaaaaall the way! It's a kraken wizard after all. :p

March 9, 2016 1:29 p.m.

AgentGreen says... #40

Unless Emrakul is different from Ulamog and Kozelik, as she may be a more intelligent Eldrazi. What made her leave Zendikar to begin with?

Either way, I'm hyped to see where the story goes from here, I really want to know why the madness is happening and what eventually will draw Lilliana to Innistrad

March 9, 2016 1:46 p.m.

Stormcaller says... #41

kanokarob see my theory on page 25 ;)

March 9, 2016 2:03 p.m.

kanokarob says... #42

Seen it. Youre not the first to think similarly. Nahiri is very clearly channeling something. Whether the mana is to attract or summon a great force from another plane or to release a powerful Innistradian being pushed back with Avayn's advent, we can't tell from what we have, but it is one of these. She very likely doesn't have a plan for after that though, either because she is angry and is only thinking of the short term harm she wants to bring to Sorin or because she intends to planeswalk away and let this force do as it will.

March 9, 2016 2:09 p.m.

You know who does have the intelligence to do that, though, kanokarob? Nicol Bolas.

March 9, 2016 2:10 p.m.

kanokarob says... #44

He does indeed, and certainly the magical ability. It'd be cool if Bolas makes an appearance at least in story if not in card, as I do love him so. But for some reason I don't think we'll see him until, barring new planes, the return to New Phyrexia.

March 9, 2016 2:15 p.m.

DarkLaw says... #45

I personally think that Nahiri is a red herring- she seems to be the cause of what's going on, but it's something else that is responsible for the greater evils.

March 9, 2016 2:20 p.m.

kanokarob says... #46

DarkLaw, no one is contesting that she's not the actual evil.

March 9, 2016 2:29 p.m.

Rayenous says... #47

A slightly different version of the theory is that Nahiri is also being driven mad by whatever uber-evil being is corrupting the Angels.

It is possible that the being has been waiting for someone with the power of Lithomancy to arrive on Innistrad. Someone who can forge the cryptolith's required to summon it or release it from it's ancient prison.

Sensing Nahiri's presence and capabilities, it mentally 'reached out', to Nahiri's thoughts; manipulating her emotions and causing madness, making her think she needs to take vengeance on Sorin as well as the Plane of Innistrad. All the while having the true intent of having Nahiri create and use the key required for it's release.

Meanwhile, this 'mental reach' has the side effect of affecting other beings who are susceptible to it's influence. - The same surge of emotional imbalance and madness affected Avacyn, causing her to view humans as not only 'unworthy' of her protection, but also as their own root cause of the evils for which she was designed to extinguish.

Not only that, but something about Avacyn is causing her to amplify this emotion. - The mother who was looking for her son became angry with her son only when Avacyn was present. Once Avacyn left, her anger subsided. - Avacyn was able to convince Gisela and Bruna of her 'Great Plan', but it took time, they were not immediately affected by whatever had so rapidly effected Avacyn.

Or, you know, someone may have pulled a Lasav on us. Who was the first person to do something like that?

March 9, 2016 4:12 p.m.

EverythingIsK says... #49

Not sure if anyone clicked on my link a page or two back, but if you remember the artifact dack fayden tried to bargain sorin with (who sorin then just took it from him by force lol) had the power to control vampires in masses. I think nahiri got ahold of the artifact while sorin was doing sorin things off the plane. It's how I'm guessing she was able to gather all of those vampires in that one area where sorin found them so easily.

March 9, 2016 4:32 p.m.

Super excited that we will most likely be seeing a new Sigarda. I collect angel's but Green is my favorite piece of the Pie. Looking forward to getting both at the same time again IF she maintains her color identity.

I also think its flavorful that she is the only one not corrupted since her original ability prevented you from sacrificing things.
