I like the RR first strike-sometimes-double strike-Wolf. Still not the Busted Red 2-drop. : )

So what kind of decks do you think Standard will brew from this so far? Also anyone think any cards so far will be added to a modern deck or help create a new one? While we are waiting for the spoilers it might be fun to guess what will see play.
For Standard I can see a few tribe synergies, but ultimately I think unless there is a super strong set of cards for each one I'm calling the only competitive one is either R/G werewolves or W/G humans.

In regards to the ongoing discussion about the remaining mythics, the last one will be red if MaRo did in fact say three will be DFC. If you reference the second DFC checklist card for rares/mythics, the only one that hasn't been spoiled is red.
As far as standard brews, I think we'll see tribal brews and/or control brews just to play around with everything. I do feel that three color decks will become the more competitive archetype even with the current land base. However, I think we'll see brews using more of the Shards wedges. Personally, I think Grixis decks will be the powerhouse decks at this point. However, I think some very strong two color decks are already being developed and I think mono-black could be a real thing again. Who knows!
I hope that R/G werewolf-wolf aggro becomes a thing though because those pups are my favorite tribe ever and I think they deserve their day!

artifacts/clues/humans plays very smoothly. Playing with Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip would make it even better I'm sure since you can turn late game losers into life/fuel for easily thanks to a certain enchantment which lets you surgive the mono Human Tribal decks. Adding G lets you top it off with the Human Lord (who herself is not a human) and replace your Bishops with a G creature that gets bigger and bigger.

I'm expecting BR vamps to be the fastest aggro build and the earliest competitive one, but RG wolves might be the strongest in the long run. They're getting some nice rares and Arlinn is probably the best card in the set so far.
Haven't seen much out of Humans that really sells me. Thalia's Lieutenant is really good, and Tireless Tracker has promise. Waiting to see how useful Investigate really is, though. Rather just chuck Clues at people's faces with Pia and Kiran, honestly.
Waiting to see more spirits, because Rattlechains looks great. Zombies looks interesting, but not sure how strong.
BW control looks really strong right now. So much good removal. Maybe even Mardu control - I could see a build adding in Nahiri and Sin Prodder, although I'm not a fan of the latter.
One of the big questions for me is what's going to happen with blue. Seems the least definitive color in the set so far. Thing in the Ice is definitely going to be the subject of some builds, but it doesn't have much support right now.
I don't think three color decks are going far away. Bant Company's likely to still be strong. But there'll probably be more two-color-with-splash builds.

DemonDragonJI don't think it's a demon. My guess would be either Marit lage, Nicolus Bolas, some other unnamed old god/demon from innistard. Not Emerqul, because no.

In regards to the last mythic, I feel like it'll be a DFC Legendary Werewolf. Starts as Green, flips to red.

I would like it if Tamiyo busted out some Arcane spells with Soulshift in EDM to booster our spirits :)

There have actually been 3 DFC Mythics (of the 15 Mythics total) revealed so far.
Arlinn Kord
Archangel Avacyn
Startled Awake
That leaves 3 more non-DFC Mythics, and any number of DFC Mythics (I'm guessing that number is 0, but who knows.)

Anyone seen Prized Amalgam yet? Having multiple in your graveyard when Relentless Dead dies (and you pay X of course) would be hilarious.
I can't remember if we've seen any other return from grave to field cards in this block, but amalgam definitely has synergy with the Undying Zombies, and of course Gravecrawler, to name a few.
March 23, 2016 8:11 a.m.
Yup... Imagine a Sultai deck...
4x Prized Amalgam in grave
4x Deathmist Raptor in grave
1x Den Protector in grave
1x Face down Den Protector in play
Flip the Den Protector... return 8x Creatures to play (24 power and 24 toughness), and another Den Protector to your hand so you can do it again when/if needed.

I'm hoping we get a Gravecrawler reprint that would be the perfect final thing needed to make zombies viable in standard.

Took another look at the Checklist cards. - If there is another Mythic DFC, it is red.
There is only one not accounted for on the Mythic/Rare Checklist card... though I would assume that it actually Rare, not Mythic. Otherwise there will be 4 Mythic DFC's and 5 Rare... just seems like a bad ratio.
March 23, 2016 8:27 a.m.
The wolf seems meh for a rare... Delirium will NOT be on on turn 2... I'd be ok with this as a 2/1 uncommon
March 23, 2016 8:33 a.m.
2/2 First Strike, and no down-side, for 2 is pretty good...
Doubling the damage in a later game is great.
The double is a little disconcerting as it make it only work well in a mono-red or red with splash deck. - With Atarka's Command still in Standard, I'm sure some people will be trying it out.

Inexorable Mass
Rare
Delirium : Each time ~ attacks, if there is at least four different types of card in graveyard, put a 3/3 green ooze token tapped and attacking onto the battlefield.
3/3
March 23, 2016 8:51 a.m.
Rayenous - Oh god. That with Atarka's Command. You can do 9 in a single turn with some ease.

So I just thought of something funny. Arlinn Kord's emblem... With Stigma Lasher. cackles evilly
March 23, 2016 9:20 a.m.
So how does this work... I have the Wolf in play, and attacking with 1 other creature (1/1). - In my graveyard is Land and Enchantment
Opponent has a 3/3 First Strike creature, which blocks my 1/1 creature.
I cast Atarka's Command - 3 to opponent, +1/+1 for my creatures.
First Strike damage - Wolf Deals 3, his First Striker kills my creature.
I now have Delerium - Land/Encahntment/Instant/Creature.
I believe the Wolf now deals another 3... correct?
But if it were a non-First Strike creature gaining First Strike from Delerium, it would have dealt nothing?

One mythic is probably going to be or and I'm hoping for 2 green mythics to come.
Currently we have the following distribution:
4: 1 mono Descend upon the Sinful, 1 flip: Archangel Avacyn and 2 multicoloured containing white: Sorin, Grim Nemesis and Nahiri, the Harbinger
3: 2 mono Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, Geralf's Masterpiece and 1 flip:Startled Awake
3: 1 mono[Behold the Beyond and 2 multicoloured containing black: Sorin, Grim Nemesis and Olivia, Mobilized for War
4 1 mono Goldnight Castigator and 3 multicoloured containing red Olivia, Mobilized for War, Nahiri, the Harbinger and Arlinn Kord (not counting Avacyn)
1 1 multicoloured containing Arlinn Kord
If we get 2 mythics and 1 that is or that leaves us with 4 , 3/4 , 3/4 , 4 and 3
If we get 1 mono green, 1 + and one + that would make exactly 4 mythics at least containing any of these colours
March 23, 2016 9:29 a.m.
You're forgetting Black has Relentless Dead and Mindwrack Demon

And Sigarda, thats what you get for thinking mytic spoiler shows all mythics on the top of their site :(

Hamster2558 - I LOL'd at "...just calm down fool"... really, co-workers looked at me funny!
I mean really... you post an excited, all-cap, reaction to a card spoiled 2 days ago... and post "...just calm down fool" to a sarcastic response pointing out the problem with the card.

Corrected:
5: 1 mono Descend upon the Sinful, 1 flip: Archangel Avacyn and 3 multicoloured containing white: Sorin, Grim Nemesis, Sigarda, Heron's Grace and Nahiri, the Harbinger
3: 2 mono Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, Geralf's Masterpiece and 1 flip: Startled Awake
5 :3 mono Behold the Beyond, Relentless Dead, Mindwrack Demon and 2 multicoloured containing black: Sorin, Grim Nemesis and Olivia, Mobilized for War
5 2 mono Goldnight Castigator, Wolf of Devil's Breach and 3 multicoloured containing red Olivia, Mobilized for War, Nahiri, the Harbingerand Arlinn Kord (not counting Avacyn)
2 2 multicoloured containing Arlinn Kord and Sigarda, Heron's Grace
So the new guesstimation is 2 mono green and one mono blue to take us to 5, 4, 5 5 and 4 .
March 23, 2016 9:58 a.m.
I'm thinking a mono- Angel, representing the Alabaster flight... Alabaster Castigator?
Whenever damage is dealt to you or it, it deals half that damage instead?
4 CMC - 4/3
March 23, 2016 10:10 a.m. Edited.
Two mono green = whatever. The mono blue = the giant sea thing that's driving everyone mad and isn't Emrakul? (I can hope, right?)
March 23, 2016 10:14 a.m.
Hamster2558 says... #34
It does not matter if it does not have hexproof. Its still a good card
March 23, 2016 10:14 a.m.
Whatever is driving people Mad or being summoned/awoken, etc. - I think we won't see it until EMN.
March 23, 2016 10:15 a.m.
...no.... it's not.
Perhaps in a Bruna, Light of Alabaster EDH deck, but that's about it.
Even then, it doesn't trigger the turn it returns to the battlefield, so the synergy is low.
March 23, 2016 10:18 a.m.
Invokation of Saint Traft is a fine card as long as you are enchanting Insidious Mist.
March 23, 2016 10:21 a.m.
Whether or not someone likes a card is a matter of opinion... wether or not a card is good is not.
March 23, 2016 10:22 a.m.
Stormcaller says... #41
Rayenous that would be pretty much be Gisela, Blade of Goldnight's last ability.
If there is a blue castigator it'll be similar to the red one: low CMC, agressively coasted, with a negative effect (for you).
The big bad boss will almost deffinitly be revealed in EMN and it won't be Emrakul! Emrakultists are prohets of a false god!
