Never underestimate 2 1/1 fliers. The white Vessel is similar to Lingering Souls, and that was a great card. Not saying that it's anywhere near the same power level but still: never underestimate 2 evasive attackers or chump blockers at instant speed.

kengiczar says... #4

If that 4 drop really is a clone that you can put more counters on it's pretty damned good. I would gladly copy a Dromoka or some other such threat given the chance. Copying an Avacyn after they wipe your board is super fun!

GearNoir says... #5

My point is that you're two turns behind because of the investment (yes, no where near the level of Souls). IMO the flyers will only prove great if you're already ahead or in a stalemate, otherwise they are probably going to die the next turn.

WolfDice66 says... #8

Altered ego for Animar, Gitrog Monster for Damia, Fevered Visions for Nekusar, and Mindwrack Demon for Sidisi! Pretty stoked so far!

March 23, 2016 4:59 p.m.

CheeseBro says... #9

so running altered ego in Ezuri EDH

March 23, 2016 5:10 p.m.

GotCubes says... #10

There's tons of fun stuff in this set for EDH. Like WolfDice66 said, there's also Arlinn Kord for Xenagos, or any other stomp. Plus the whole set is a flavor win for themed decks.

March 23, 2016 5:11 p.m.

Forgotten creation would be so good... if it was only a 2/4. Too bad it can be bolted, that effect is crazy.

Can the gitrog monster be played in loam decks? Or is it too slow

DarkLaw says... #12

There's also two more I could post, but frankly, I wouldn't survive the night.

I do not believe in coincidences, nowhere in life, but in particular not on Magic cards that read "Clue".

March 23, 2016 6:48 p.m.

GreenGhost says... #15

Well seeing as how you can win more or less the turn of or after playing it, yes.

March 23, 2016 6:49 p.m.

JohnnyBaggins I love how the clue tokens themselves are the clues. Well, emrakul confirmed I guess

But that's seriously amazing

Gitrog toad edh: what to run?

March 23, 2016 7:45 p.m.

Titania, Protector of Argoth. There are a few others that bring lands from your graveyard to your hand, but they would be better with flicker effects.

March 23, 2016 7:50 p.m.

CheeseBro says... #26

here is what i have so far: GITROG TOAD HYPE!

Prediction:

We'll see a card that lets you do something really great by saccing 6 clues.

kanokarob says... #28

JohnnyBaggins I mean I posted that a few pages back, though not in picture form, but okay.

As I said then, I dont think this confirms Emrakul for this block at all. I think there will be small but very present clues as to Emrakul's presence in the multiverse over the course of the next few blocks, each one arming the Gatewatch with allies, knowledge, tools, or magics that will aid in their showdown with the final known Titan. Why else would Jace have gone to Innistrad after having just killed two Eldrazi Titans, if not to look for the third or ways to kill her?

March 23, 2016 7:55 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #29

kanokarob There's very little chance they will stretch it out. We have 2 Eldrazi Titans and the third is imminent. Eldritch Moon is a highly likely place for Emrakul to return.

March 23, 2016 8:35 p.m.

kanokarob says... #30

I feel strongly that they will stretch it out at least a few sets. Obviously the third is imminent, no on is contesting that. I just doubt it will be now. Namely, because atm it is literally just Jace. He can't kill Emrakul without the rest of the Gatewatch surely, and as much as the other planeswalkers on Innistrad surely would want to help, it makes zero sense story-wise to create the Gatwatch and only have one of its members be present in fighting the threat they were initially united to fight against. It's going to be at least another block before we have our showdown.

March 23, 2016 8:40 p.m.

Phaetion says... #31

I really hope it isn't Emmy. It would feel like such a cop out.

March 23, 2016 8:42 p.m.

saj0219 says... #32

Emrakul is passing by Innistrad and her proximity to the plane causes everyone to go mad. Sensing the power of the Eldrazi, Marit Lage rises from the depths and terrorizes the plane while Emmy continues on her way, devouring planes as she meanders through the multiverse.

Now everyone's happy. Emmy and Lage together forever?

March 23, 2016 8:58 p.m.

EverythingIsK says... #33

I ship Emmy and Lage.

March 23, 2016 9:02 p.m.

So basically I want the Gitfrog for my lands EDH deck. It and Behold the Beyond are going into that deck.

March 23, 2016 9:35 p.m.

I'm seeing a lot of sweet wolves and werewolves, so here's my werewolf tribal, with a fun little combo included (as always).

March 23, 2016 9:52 p.m.

K34 says... #36

I want Emrakul to show up in Eldritch Moon and KILL JACE.

I'm loving how many EDH power cards are in this set.

Yeah the green mythic we've all been waiting for! It has such a cool and unique design (as a mythic should)

That art is incredible. As is the effect in EDH.

March 23, 2016 11:22 p.m.

Gorgeous card! Want the foils for EDH, because holy craptastic that's amaze balls! Great in Limited, too.

This is a very nice EDH set...

Kravian says... #44

This set is going to make me go broke and take the food out of my new baby's mouth. Like seriously, why do they have to come in the same month.

March 23, 2016 11:28 p.m.

GearNoir says... #45

I bet this will be the most expensive card of the set even past rotation!

March 23, 2016 11:34 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #46

That is going to be gorgeous AF! Wow! I know what I'm going to buy when this releases for sure!

MindAblaze says... #47

I appreciate it but I am underwhelmed. I guess it's better than Praetor's Counsel

March 24, 2016 12:24 a.m.

Green has some really good ways to generate card advantage in this set. Green has a Tutor Traverse the Ulvenwald, ramp Deathcap Cultivator, filtering Vessel of Nascency, and arguably the best planeswalker in the set Arlinn. Also a card advantage frog. Green confirmed too strong.

kengiczar says... #49

Well I just found what I am going to tutor for with Tamiyo's Journal. It will get me back:

  1. Thraben Inspector
  2. Thalia's Lieutenant / Ongoing Investigation / Hangarback Walker
  3. Tireless Tracker / Angelic Purge
  4. Thopter Spy Network / Whirler Rogue
  5. Sigarda, Heron's Grace / Tamiyo's Journal
  6. Dragonlord Dromoka / Itself / Aegis Angel
  7. Gaea's Revenge
March 24, 2016 2:14 a.m.

maiden77 says... #50

MindAblaze no way is this better than Praetor's Counsel. It may be cheaper but unless you have loaded your graveyard with every CMC and therefore made your deck to kinda use it, it won't get back even close to the same number of cards for just 2 more mana. Plus infinite hand size for the rest of the game is stupidly relevant when it's bolted onto the card that does the effect. This thing is only better in being cheaper. As a card it's not as powerful and not as good. In Green EDH 8 mana is nothing, CMC is not a barrier to green at all. I am tempted to say that Creeping Renaissance is still better in the right decks too. In decks with more permanents like karrthus or something. Thus is a cool and pretty unique card though, i just want to point out it's not the be all and end all in EDH
