Are worldwake lands possible for a future core set cycle?

Creeping Tar Pit Celestial Colonnade Lavaclaw Reaches Raging Ravine Stirring Wildwood

Is it possible somewhere in the future? The good ones, namely Tar Pit and Colonnade, already go by a fair bunch of money these days. It would also fit into wizards more-accessible-modern-policy.

Are these lands maybe too good for standard? I would atleast wait until the current Mutavault trauma is forgotten.

Well I don't see them being printed in M15, so there's no trouble with mingling with the vault, but I could definitely see them coming again in the next block. Lands Matter would be an awesome set.

I don't really think that the man-lands are core set material though. Typically, that spot is reserved for intro-to-dual lands, hence Rootbound Crag and the like existing for as long as they did.

I agree with ThatBlueMage, I don't think we'll see these reprinted in a set unless it's something like Modern Masters. The most I think we'll have to look forward to are enemy-colored manlands

I really loved Xth Edition. One of the reasons were the mono colored manlands. I admt, they are on a way lower powerlevel, but so are a lot of cards these days.

I also DESPISE M14, because it had neither dual lands (which makes sense, given the last power summer...) or Terramorphic Expanse .

In my opionion, every core set needs some (usable) color fixing. And I also really like manlands, so the worldwake lands would make a nice fit. I don't think these cards would be to complicated for newer players, especially at rare.

I think it's unlikely, but it could be so sweet...

@HarbingerJK Oh yeah, enemy manlands would be amazing too. fantasizes about a looterland in Izzet and a Lifelink land in Orzhov...

I love the Worldwake manlands, it bugs the hell out of me when I got to build an enemy colored deck and there are no manlands to work with lol

Since it's on topic with the forum and thread, what would you expect the enemy man-lands to be? I need to go draft up some designs now...

Here's what I put together.

I couldn't find any good images, but this is what I'd like to see the enemy man lands do.

they look good, definitely in flavor with their color combinations. I'd like a playset of Enigmatic Mangroves please

Hexproof Fliers are tons of fun for everyone that's playing it.

Just imagine a giant tree just floating menacingly closer. You try to burn it but nothing happens. Then it grabs you in its roots and whisks you away to its nest.

Like an Ent but with wings and an aura of "don't shoot that green shit at me"

acbooster - I feel like the lands with 2 abilities are a bit OP. I think having the Simic land be hexproof is enough.

HarbingerJK - That's fair, however we all know how we feel about Hexproof creatures with evasion.

Also, being able to give a land hexproof is very good.

HarbingerJK says... #17

hmm that's a good point, but maybe add a clause saying that the land only has hexproof whilst being a creature

HarbingerJK says... #18

if that wasn't already implied lol

HarbingerJK - I think it is, but it's still important.

Also, acbooster gets an A+ for names. My favorite is Unstable Geyser.

The weird thing is that I'm very math and science oriented, so I don't think I'm supposed to have a single creative bone in my body but I do. Regarding the two abilities, it's implied that any changes brought by the abilities is until the end of the turn. I think a 5 mana creature with Hexproof and Flying is pretty balanced, especially since I dropped it to a 3/3 compared to Celestial Colonnade (which is what I was using for a reference to try to balance its power). If anything, it'd just have to be a power/toughness adjustment. And 3 mana to regenerate the Noxious Woodlands can cost you a lot, which is why I made it 3 mana to animate.
