I personally like the Satyr, though it is heavily balanced. I think the green one will see the most limited play and the blue one. The Mythic is going to see heavy play in graveyard commander decks like Karador, Ghost Chieftain . Ephara's Enlightenment can also be pretty good in limited. Slap it on a fatty and insta-win.

Also relevant, the promo cards are revealed officially. So here are the ones that matter, not the prerelease ones:

I'm thinking about how the black mythic could work with Pack Rat . Or potentially Tymaret, the Murder King . Sac/discard all your creatures, then all at once Immortal Servitude plus this and flood them with black weenies. Throw in Xathrid Necromancer and make all the black weenies humans and your golden. If only Assemble the Legion made humans this could be a million dollar idea.

tman007 - I highly doubt that Champion of Stray Souls will see Standard play. He might in MBD, but probably only as a 1-of. And that's a big might.

He seems better suited for casual games and not competitive Standard. You are more than welcome to try though, and I wish you luck :)

Oh wait... Discard really powerful creatures to Pack Rat and this allows you to trade 1 drops or tokens for them. Imagine: Discard 2 Worldspine Wurm , play this mythic and 2 Drainpipe Vermin . Pay 5: bam 2 Worldspine in their face.

I really like this cycle of token-producing inspired creatures. It makes me want to build a janky standard deck with tap-untap and ramp effects. Which ones do you guys think will be best for standard, if any?

The blue one looked really good to me. Evasive tokens and a decent enough butt to disallow burn and the like.

@tman007 your idea with Worldspine Wurm won't work because whenever Worldspine Wurm is put into the graveyard from anywhere you shuffle it into it's owners library. But I see what your getting at though. With what has been spoiled so far it looks more and more like they're raising the casting cost of things to slow the game down some more. I mean I realized there are always overpriced cards but its seems more and more like they're raising the cost of everything.

Unfortunately I think the cost raising just means less of these new cards will see any play until rotation comes...and that's a looong ways away.

That being said, there are still low-costed things to look out for, such as the fanatic of xenagos.

abenz419 Yea I was just using it as an example, Lord of the Void , AEtherling , Sylvan Primordial , just anything huge and mean, you know. I can see the deck coming: 4 Pack Rat 4 Champion of Stray Souls 3 Lord of the Void 2 Necropolis Regent 4 Assemble the Legion 4 Akroan Horse 4 Duress . You need to protect the Rats though or else you're hosed, and don't let them Rakdos Charm your graveyard. Seems like a fun FNM deck, definitely not tier 1, but very enjoyable to play, and not too expensive.

Oh, lord. Use the skeleton to sac an Ashen Rider and bring it back repeatedly. Obviously just discard it and reanimate it, not hard cast first, though.

I'm wondering if Ephara's Enlightenment is part of a cycle of God-themed enchantments.

Even if not, I think it might actually be good. I think there's bound to be a very good enchantment-based list. The thing I keep mulling over is whether it has to be hexproof or not.

I hope Karametra gets Unflinching Courage as her enchantment. I've heard that card can be pretty good.

@deathtouch_roadrunner: Interesting thought. Also interesting that Ephara's enchantment has the name of her scry land. Will that be the same for the other gods? Mogis's Malice? That sounds pretty scary.

I agree Spootyone, Fanatic of Xenagos is a beast.
