I wonder if the cards will be involved, or just the flavor?

(mechanic wise) Unrelated boardgames turn out to be really good, in a lot of cases.
If anyone remembers Games Workshop's Space Hulk or HeroQuest, you know what I'm talking about.

Omg! I would really wish to see a board game, that uses Magic cards! I don't know how, but it could be so awesome! :)

I can only assume that this will turn out to be exactly like the YuGiOh sub-game that used special die and whatnot.
If you don't remember that being a thing, there's probably a good reason.

How about this mock rulebook
"each player chooses a planeswalker figure and places it in a corner "start" place of the board. The twenty sided dice are rolled to determine who takes the first turn. Each player starts with 20 life and draws 1 card each turn from the "library". The library is a deck of creature and sorcery cards, which can be played to add them to your arsenal of creatures or to use an effect A turn consists of moving the figure horrizontally or vertically, one space each time. Places can have special abilities like giving or taking life, doing an extra move, or drawing cards from the "library". Additionally, if a player lands on a square with another player, those players "battle". Battling is when the player whose turn it is choses which of his creatures fight which of their opponents creatures.if a creature has equal or greater power (the first number in bottom right hand corner) to the opposing creature's toughness (the second number). All extra damage is assigned to the opposing player. if there are no creatures on the opponent's side, all damage is assigned to the opponent.
For TCG Players
You may use your deck as the library. Treat battling as combat.

TheRedDude -- do you really think so, or did you just want to make a cliche pun?
I have high hopes for this board game. At the very least, it'll introduce people who may otherwise never have even heard of Magic to the lore and flavour of the multiverse (which is a big draw for many new players).
I think it's unlikely that it'll be something great or fantastically innovative, like Settlers of Catan or Monopoly, but I trust Wizards enough to expect something more than the cheap strategy-less shovelware that many board game franchise tie-ins become. After all, these guys are a game design company, and this sort of thing has been able to work out well in the past.
I've played a board game based on Warhammer 40K, and myself (who only knows how to play Warhammer in a very vague sense, and owns none) and some of my friends (who have had success in 40K at national-level) both enjoyed it. Here's hoping this is a success, attractive to non-players and exciting to us enfranchised veterans!
I will watch this with interest.

This is nice. The DnD board games that came out a couple years back were all really well made.

Sounds fun so far. Im a fan of awesome board games, Dominion and so forth. My buddies and I used to do something similar....sorta'. We'd shuffle a big 500 card deck and everybody would play off the community library and graveyard. It was good times...and high Times lol.

Looks like some of the elements from my fake rulebook were right: casting spells, last walker standing, creatures. How do you think the mechanics will work?maybe flying makes it like a knight in chess allowing it to jump over enemy peices? the others are obvious. What different creatures will we get? Jace's Mindseeker ? Nissa's Chosen ?

I was able to see it today, but it seemed like a lot of those turn based tabletops. To me it seemed boring considering the things I want to do with magic stuff. I didn't get the chance to play, but it's just using the lore and not very innovative as far as I can tell. Also it doesn't interact with existing cards.

of course, what is the fifth master of colorful magic to be embodied in a colorful figure?

Probably Gideon or a new character.
If it was Ajani, why wold they wait to announce him? Elspeth was recently killed off and Venser's dead as well, not to mention that Venser and Sorin are multicolored.
