Colorless "basics" (in FRF?)

I recently read in an article (I believe it was a Commander article on dailymtg) that they're going to fix the colorless basic land issue (for colorless generals) in the near future, possibly FRF. It was more of a side-note but I'm wondering why no one has done any speculations about it yet.
So what I'm imagining is something like:
Colorless Land Name
: Add to your mana pool.
A deck can have any number of cards named ~.
And then some minor effect like ETB gain 1 life.
What do you think?
@Axion.... I doubt they would call them 'Plane', just for the confusion factor of asking questions like, "How many Planes do you have?" vs. "How many Plains do you have?"
"Aether" might make sense, but that term has been attributed to on a number of cards.
I still don't think there needs to be a 6th subtype... just a basic land with no subtype.

No... 'simplest solution' is to leave things as they are and tell people who want to play colorless that they have to get the land they need.
If you're going to create a 'fix', you have to create one that does what it's supposed to do, not just break something else to make it work they way a few people want.

The goal of colourless basics has existed before EDH, and has applications beyond EDH. Doing just an EDH fix wouldn't solve everything at all.

Yea.. but we know that's not gonna happen. Wizards doesn't like creating unreasonable barriers to more casual players. So rather than make a particular and potential customer turned off by having to track down all these non-basics and mana rocks to make their deck legal they are trying to solve the issue by introducing a new basic land type that has no color identity. I think it simpler to let the player choose the identity and only play those basics, but would produce 1 instead of w, u, etc. But, I'm interested to see what they come up with, maybe it fits an upcoming theme from an expansion so they're gonna pull the trigger on it.

How about this:
Ruins
Basic Land- Ruins
T: Add 1 to your mana pool.

@Zuckfat it's not up to Wizards. While the DCI controls the rules for most formats, that's not the case for EDH - it's run by a separate rules committee.

@Zuckfat.
That would still allow for things like Gauntlet of Might, Goblin Charbelcher, Vedalken Shackles, Wand of the Elements, Lashwrithe, Nightmare Lash and many others... now, and in future cards.
