Dear Wizards of the Coast,

Could we get another card spoiled from Modern Masters 2015 pretty please? Something really thought provoking, like an obscure archetype card that gives me something to discuss with friends. The last cards we saw were the PAX east ones on April 11, which feels like it was a long time ago. It doesn't have to be much, just something to fill the time.
Sincerely,
TheAnnihilator and a lot of other anxious Modern players
Really? 2 days into the future feels like a long time ago? lol

Haha. They spoiled Karn, Emrakul, Etched Champion, and Goyf. This was a few weeks ago. It would ncie to get a little more.

They will probably happen a week or two before the set launches based off previous spoilers. So probably around the beginning of May (just speculation though, could be horribly wrong)

Maro said on his blog, he just finished his preview article, and it will be published in about a month.

My wishlist for MM2: Noble Hierarch M/R, Serum Visions U, Vendilion Clique M, Celestial Colonnade (and all the manlands, because I don't know if they'll be in BFZ because I think they'll print fetches over manlands) R, Spellskite R, and the most important, Liliana of the Veil M
April 9, 2015 10:59 a.m.
Hierarch will be in Origins. We're seeing Bant for Gideon's first planeswalk.

I hate that new Etched Champion art so much >_<
It just looks so stupid in gold.

Hierarch in Origins? We can dream, I suppose.
God, I'd kill for a standard reprinting of it. Bant exalted here I come

I got to disagree with the new art... he looks so much better in plain old metal.

@ vishnarg
MM2 will be Mirrodin through New Phyrexia, so no Liliana of the Veil.

I'd like to see what WOTC is going to do from a Limited standpoint. Casting Karn and Emrakul is no easy feat, so I would assume there will be some ramp. I also wonder if Mox Opal will see a reprint...

It's speculated that we'll get the Urza lands: Urza's Power Plant, Urza's Tower, and Urza's Mine
April 9, 2015 12:11 p.m.
Gideon confirmed as being from Theros so bant wouldn't make sense
April 9, 2015 12:24 p.m.
He planeswalked from theros to Bant. It was confirmed I believe. Sorry bout the brusque comments, I'm on a phone.

Gideon IS from Theros and his first planeswalk was to Bant, but I highly doubt Noble Hierarch will be in Origins since there is no major returning mechanic. Also it's much more likely that Noble Hierarch will be reprinted in MM2015 instead of Origins as MaRo has stated that R&D feels like 1-mana mana dorks are a bit too good. Which is why we've gotten Sylvan Caryatid, Golden Hind, Rattleclaw Mystic, and Whisperer of the Wilds in the past two blocks as mana dorks (2 being Standard playable and the others not).

Yeah, they said they were going to set Origins in the five PW's home planes as well as the first planes they planeswalked to. I believe they discussed it at that PAX East thing

That is true but noble hierarch still doesn't seem to fit flavorwise

And I've gone ahead and used my GIMP skills to fix up Lame_Duck's idea. Look, and be amazed:

The funny thing is due to Tarmogoyf's low power level in limited, they probably could justify him as a common. Hah!
(Complexity might push him towards uncommon for New World Order reasons, but we do see cards like Singing Bell Strike at common so we know they are willing to push some complexity.)

I would like to take credit as the first person to ever compare Tarmogoyf to Singing Bell Strike.

Red boarders kinda suck I'm sure they had some old designs that took that out

On the bottom of Etched Champion it says MTGS mockup. The existence of the card has been confirmed but that was just a fan made mockup, not the actual card. Do not expect red borders (none of the other spoilers have them). For all we know the card could have different flavor text.

If commongoyf was printed, half of all modern players would have a huge celebration and the other half would cry because 8 goyfs in a list would break standard. Tarmagoyf would be banned. Not commongoyf though. Better for taking away barrier of entry
April 10, 2015 7:10 a.m.
Or.... they could print tarmogoyf as a common. The modern players would celebrate and you couldn't have 8 in a deck.
April 10, 2015 7:12 a.m.
Wait... new phyrexia... Isn't that the set with infect? If it is then I'm as good as being an inclined plane rapped helically around a wedge! (Big Bang Theory quote)

SimicPower says... #38
Why not reprint Tarmogoyf at common with infect! Because, you know, breaking modern is fun.
April 13, 2015 7:30 p.m.
YES.
Just yes. Though, I have never been a fan of 'Goyf.
