Defiant Strike

So, this card seems to have been overlooked in all the spoilers coming around right now. And possibly rightly so, after all Defiant Strike is just a one mana common in a sea of exciting mythics and rares. But when I saw it, I saw potential. Standard hasn't seen a cantrip in a few years I believe, and it's nice to have one back and in white of all things. In addition to that cantrip, which is almost good enough, it pumps a creature for +1/+0 at instant speed. Oh, whats that? An instant speed cantrip? Awesome. I personally see a lot of potential, and expect this to see play in any white weenie strategies that pop up. In a heroic deck? Instant auto include. So, what do you think about this card? Am I simply overreacting and this won't see any play? I'm excited to know what you think!

Also, it's pretty bad. Yes, it's a cantrip, but the effect is almost irrelevant, and, as NobodyPicksBulbasaur said, you need to have a target for it.

It has potential in a heroic based deck. Other than that, I don't see it doing much.

Is this better or worse than Dragon Mantle ? I think those two could fight for deckslots in boros heroic.

I see a tiny chance of it getting into prowess lists, just for potentially huge turns.

It's going into my modern Paradise Weird deck. I've wanted to make it five-colours for a while, and Bandage just wasn't cutting it.
tl;dr? This card is guaranteed to see modern play... in at least one deck.

it also works with the new ability prowess. If you target a creature that has that ability it'll effectively give the creature +2/+1.

Would synergies well with a bunch of prowess creatures.

Yep, it has potential in Jeskai Prowess decks, though most likely 1 or 2 copies at maximum i believe
When it would be +1/+1, it could defenitley be better, but with prowess, its okay :)

It's main limitation as a cantrip is that it has to have a target. You can't cast it just to dig unless there's a creature hanging out.
I'll still take Niveous Wisps in my Ink-Treader Nephilim deck, though.
