DEVOID KILL SPELL???

Ok so a long standing argument my friend and i have is that Emrakul is one of the most powerful magic cards in modern. My friend's argument is pretty solid that with annihilator 6, flying and pro all colors its almost impossible to effectively stop him especially with an extra turn in the hands of a tron player. Now with BfZ we saw the great mechanic of Devoid making spells with a color in their mana cost colorless. My friend is now slightly on my side as what are the chances that they print a straight up kill spell, probably in black, to kill a creature at instant speed... BUT ITS DEVOID. Killing emrukal as the tron player drops it might actually be a pretty good thing
So you mean like Ghostfire but it outright kills a creature and is in ? Possibly, seeing as we need a replacement for Hero's Downfall in Standard when Theros rotates out. I could see a instant with Devoid that kills a creature. Essentially Murder but with added interactions. Could be an uncommon.

It's possible we'll see a reprint of Ghostfire. It's the same thing as Devoid without the keyword, which I wouldn't be surprised if they added it to the card.

Stinkweed Imp is clearly the most powerful creature; it takes out Emrakul, then comes back next turn as if nothing happened!

tmanc1, no, Emrakul can be hurt, she has protection from all coloured spells, not all colours.

Maybe something like
Consume
Instant
Devoid
Detsroy target creature that's one or more colors.

@jchudz - That wouldn't kill Emrakul, the Aeons Torn because colorless isn't a color.
Maybe a version of Ultimate Price that says "monocolored or colorless creature?"

"...That is two or less colors"
Boom, problem solved.

meecht that was kind of the idea for flavor and balancing. The eldrazi aren't going to go fighting eachother now would they? This way it would basically just be a Murder that gets around protection on things like Chameleon Colossus and Mirran Crusader

I wasn't hiding. ;D
This still kills my beloved Knight of the Reliquary though, so that's a bit unfortunate...

It's not unlikely. I mean, I'm 99.99% sure that we'll see a reprint of Ghostifre with a Devoit reminder text. It's a fairly solid card in limited. It's not really good for Constructed, though. I can't imagine they don't print a , deal 3 pseudo-Bolt. Red needs some kind of solid removal or reach after all.

Emrakul can be killed with hornet tokens though...
And yes, this could happen. I personally think that it will happen. But we'll see.

What if they printed something like...
Instant
: Destroy target colorless creature.

Now that Ugin is alive in the story, I wouldn't be surprised to see some colorless cards to combat the eldrazi.

Totally unrealistic to ever expect to see competitive play, but I'm going to mention Time Stop here.

Well, killing Emrakul isn't even that strong, since he goes back in the deck with the rest of the yard. Plus, at least in this set, we get no such spell, although we get a close (but expensive) cousin, Scour from Existence.

But hay guise; if you have your own Emrakul and a Titan's Presence, you can exile your opponent's Emrakul!

Possible, we'll have to wait for spoilers to know for sure.
