Next week is chock full of announcements; plus I believe they are kicking off some HOU cards as well; likely the 3 cards that were leaked early.

Tune in next week to find out what the game plan is

Homura_Akemi One of two things

One: Too much to announce in one day

Two: They're assholes for milking the moment

Wow, they are actually having an announcement for announcement day; is that not rather ridiculous? Why not simply wait until the actual announcement day and not waste time and effort to have an announcement for announcement day?

What happened to the previous tradition of announcing each set individually? Why must they have scheduled announcement days for multiple sets?

soooo, the gist of it that i get is;

standard is going back to the way it was, core sets are coming back, the gatewatch characters will be scaled back, drafting will be done only in the set that we are in, and masterpieces will be limited to certain sets.

I am somewhat apprehensive about this announcement, because I often find change to be intimidating, but I am very pleased that two of my hopes have come true: WotC has realized that the Gatewatch has been receiving excessive exposure, and will be reducing their prominence in the story; and they shall also be having the masterpiece series only on rare occasion, now. Also, the partial return of core sets is certainly very appealing, as well, since I was very fond of them, and I will definitely be interested to see how, exactly, these changes will be implemented.
