DTK Keywords

Ok, so now that we know how they did the mechanics for KTK and FRF, we can say for sure that DTK has 6 mechanics (even maro said they have 6 for DTK).
We can assume 5 "clan" mechanics and one variant of morph. For now, we know a couple of those:
Selesnya - Bolster
Rakdos - Dash
The other three are unknown as of now, so that calls for speculation!
What do you think the dimir, gruul and azorius mechanics will be?
Will they make another version morph/manifest and if yes, what do you think it will be?
I should post my own predictions:
- Dimir will have revert - whenever this creature dies, you may exile X cards from your graveyard, where X is its CMC. If you do, return it to the battlefield tapped.
It plays well with everything we have seen so far, especially Marang River Prowler.
- Azorious will be freeze - tap target creature an opponent controls and it does not untap during its owner's next untap step.
It will be an ability word, not a keyword and will appear on spells as well as creatures.
Plays mostly off of Ojutai, Soul of Winter.
- Gruul will have beastly - whenever this creature enters the battlefield, change its base power to 4 until the end of your next turn.
Works really well with ferocious and is a nice play on Viashino Firstblade-type of abilities and is reminiscient of Monstrous.
- For the morph ability, i think it will be a metamorph - you may choose to play this card as a textless 2/2 creature for 3 mana. You may turn it face up at any time by paying its manacost. If it is not a creature, it becomes a creature with power and toughness equal to X, where X is its mana cost.
This means a metamorphed land will be extremely good with Secret Plans, but it makes it possible to play any card face-down. Also, I really like the name metamorph.

I believe sense dimir is the current control deck it will have some kill draw a card interaction or possibly even a new plainswalker

It would be awesome if the did some sort of blood rush type thing for gruul or something where the creatures get a pump of some sort or maybe to make it even more competitive with aggto they will add I'm something to affect all opponents creatures

Well, Sultai had the best mechanic in the past two sets (for constructed) and the worst mechanic at the same time (for limited). So, it will be natural to fall somewhere in between in terms of power level. I think the revert idea above is very close to playable and powerful.

Delve was very good in limited. Are you high?
EVERYONE snaps up Delve cards like Sultai Scavenger and Hooting Mandrills in a draft.
In fact, there's a rule where I play: 2-4 delve spells in a draft deck and you're good. More if you have things that feed the grave, less if you don't.

That came out snarky but the point stands. Sorry for the tone.

Speculating on the clan mechanics is foolish at this point. It's unlikely that any of us will guess them correctly, and even if we do it's not like there's a prize.
The "morph" mechanic will probably remain Manifest. Manifest seems tied to Ugin, and since he'll be around for DTK, it would make sense for Manifest to stick around as well. Could be wrong. I've been wrong before. I'll be wrong again, I'm sure.

@NobodyPicksBulbasaur: It will not be manifest in DTK. Manifest was the precursor to morph (remember, frf takes place in the past). it was said that the change in the past will change the way the mechanic evolves. similar to how in the first timeline Renowned Weaponsmith makes the Heart-Piercer Bow, but in the second timeline, he makes Vial of Dragonfire instead.

i imagine they will be variants of the Khans keywords, similar enough to point to them but work differently because of the timeline change.
deep down i also want there to be a "dragon riding" ability too

Wizards has a great creative team, and they often jump over expectations of zigging left or zagging right. That being said, speculation is fun, so I'll take a crack at this:
WU- I don't think this will be a variation on Detain, even with a ton of ice imagery with this brood. A Buyback feature might break the game, however flavorful it might be, but printing it on the creature cards like Soulfire Grand Master might save it. Conversely, SFGM might be a vestige of their playing around with but ultimately discarding the idea. My prediction: Sacrifice ~: The next time you cast an instant or sorcery spell from your hand this turn, put that card into your hand instead of into your graveyard as it resolves.
UB- Hopefully they will come up with something better than vanilla Mill. Maybe something triggered by exiling cards from the graveyard to synergize with delve. My prediction: Whenever you exile a cards from a graveyard, you may pay , if you do so, creatures opponents control get -1/-1 until end of turn.
RG- This could be a Devour-like mechanic, to show the humans feeding the dragons, maybe something convoke-ish... My prediction: When ~ enters the battlefield, you may tap XX untapped creatures to give ~ X +1/+1 counters.
GW- Bolster
BR- Dash
And I think regular old Morph will return.

Korombos you mentioning them feeding the dragons got me thinking, what if one of the clans were to feed themselves to their dragons? sort of like a new devour mechanic only doesnt happen when the dragon enters?
February 18, 2015 2:41 p.m.
shinobigarth: sure, that could work, too. Let's say you have a 1/2 creature with the "feeding" ability... Feeding: sacrifice ~: add 2 +1/+1 counters to target creature. If that creature is a dragon, add an additional +1/+1 counter.

maybe, but wouldn't that be awkward if you fed a creature to your Elvish Mystic? lol

Any alternate temur mechanic is going to have to intereact in some way with ferocious. Maybe some kind of shamanistic based ability where you tap creatures to increase the power of another creature. Kind of like Impelled Giant or something.
Maybe worded like tap: channel X (target creature you control gets +X/+X until end of turn)

Boza I love those mechanics! They should be a thing. Revert also makes a lot of sense for the former sultai clan, because I read in one of the making magic (I think) that Sultai Emissary will work really well with one of the DoT mechanics

I think they're probably keeping manifest for the moment. It seems like they pushed it too much in FRF for it to just go by the wayside during DTK.
As for UB, if the khan is any symbolizer, I'd say it's gonna be a return from the graveyard type mechanic rather than a use the graveyard mechanic b
For WU, instead of it being the creature getting +1/+1 for each non-creature spell, or might be a if you played a non-creature spell this turn do X type thing.
As for RG, I can see them using a "If a creature you control deals X or more damage to a player, do X" which is still reliant on creature size.
