Dual Lands in Origins

(sorry if this has already been a thread)
What do you guys think we'll get as far as nonbasics go in the upcoming Origins "core" set? What are you hoping to see?
I've said it before, but I'd be interested to see filter lands from the Lorwyn block -- Rugged Prairie and its ilk. Do I think that's particularly likely? Not really. But it would be cool!
What're your guys' hopes/expectations? Reprints, or something new?

Maybe we'll have the Modern-Reprints we want so badly in Origins. Thinking about Serum Visions. But for lands - yeah, the filter lands would be awesome. But concidering that we have fetches in standard, i think that would be a little bit too strong.

The Filter lands are in BAD need of a reprint, so I would be happy with those. I'm unsure about whether they would put hybrid mana in what is essentially a core set though. We'll have to wait and see.

I expect there to be no dual lands in Origins. I think man lands or utility lands are more likely.

Everybody will go nuts when they reveal that Magic Origins is meant to be taken seriously and they'll reprint the duals.

Lifeless Delta
Land
Tap: Add to your mana pool.
At the beginning of your end step, if you control an Island or a Forest, flip Lifeless Delta.
Bustling Delta
Land
Tap: Add or to your mana pool.

Tidebreaker: That seems....maybe okay, actually. I would play that.

Wait, 10 posts and no one has mentioned "finishing the cycle of fetches and / or pain lands"? Wow, nice job community. Proud of you.
Myself, I would love to see a new type of land as a cycle. I don't really care what it is as long as it's playable.
May 11, 2015 7:45 p.m.
I think I've said this on almost every land reprint thread, but I'd love for them to complete the Nimbus Maze cycle. Such a cool card, and flat out amazing artwork.

Yes, that. I would love that. Or the Grove of the Burnwillows cycle. Either of those. plz

We all assume the fetches will be reprinted in BFZ, methinks

Or something like what they did with River of Tears. (Not biased at all. It's not my favorite land ever. Nope. Nosiree.)

Ummm, those are a cycle, with Horizon Canopy being the last of the cards. They're all friendly colors, yeah, but it's a cycle

In my eyes, River of Tears is unplaybale in constructed at best. But maybe I'm not imaginative enough to get it.

I think it's OK in the right deck. Basically, if you want it to tap for , don't play your land yet. If you need it to tap for , play your land first. Obviously, you won't always have a land available to manipulate this, so it's best-considered an Island that can help a predominantly blue deck fix for black. Perhaps a 2-of.

If we do get duals in Origins Standard mana bases could be busted until BFZ arrives and kicks the 10 scrylands and 5 painlands out of the format.

Named_Tawyny Graven Cairns. The Future Sight has a loose land cycle.
May 11, 2015 10:04 p.m.
i kinda like the flip idea. i would also be ok with dual lands that were say legendary or unfetchable.
river of tears is an awesome land...but needs to be built around...heavy blue with splash of black...like faeries is a flash style deck, so you need lands that come in untapped but don't hurt (since you do enough of that with blossom and thoughtseize)

I can imagine, however, that they just put in something that's not at rare. Terramorphic, yet another Evolving Wilds, I'd love one with Evolving Wilds artwork. Also, the Standard format currently doesn't need more fixing and Zendikar is likely to add more Fetch Lands.

for the record Mark Rosewater has strongly implied if not outright said that the Planeswalkers will be the only flip cards in Origins.
I wouldn't be surprised if the filterlands were reprinted and the set is like "hey hybrid mana's gonna be evergreeen moving forward woo"

Wouldn't that be nice...
Watch them trot out the painlands again...I'd just die laughing.

@BlastercoolWeird The Origin PW's are not flip cards, they're double-faced cards, or DFC's for short. Flip cards are from Kamigawa: Callow Jushi

Also maybe enemy non-hybrid filters like Shadowblood Ridge? Probably not, but whatever.

Guys, I've hit upon a revolutionary idea. They need to print... Basic lands. Bam. I'm done with the Internet for today.
June 8, 2015 8:25 a.m.
Flip lands! If have both x and y lands it flips and becomes an xy land. Boom!
June 9, 2015 4:05 a.m.
Although not impossible, I doubt they will use Rare 10 slots for dual lands.
This leaves 4 options:
- 10 Uncommon (or common) dual land cycle.
- 5 Rare mono-color land cycle.
- 5 Rare dual land that finished off an already started cycle. (fetches or pain)
- No Rare land and no dual lands.
As someone who wants to collect a playset of all Modern land cycles (but does not want to simply puke money into Modern), I'm hoping for the remaining pain lands. - I already have my fetches.
An Uncommon cycle wouldn't be too bad... but they usually aren't all that playable outside of limited.

Honestly, with the Scrys, the Pains, the Fetches, the Khans tri-lands, mana-confluence, and the Refuges, I'm not sure that standard needs more mana fixing at the moment.
A lot of that leaves when BFZ hits, but there's time to release more fixing when it hits (the rest of the fetches, perhaps?).
Personally, I'm thinking that if we get any rare lands, we're looking at man-lands right now (or other effect lands of some type that we've not thought of yet)

Filters would be nice. I doubt we'll see checks as those would have really good synergy with fetches, but who knows? Maybe the enemy checks could see a reprint... The WWK manlands would be sweet, but unlikely. Scar lands? I honestly have no clue.
