So with the holidays comes great wizards gifts: Duel Decks: anthologies. This comes with eight decks (four duel deck sets) of the best possible decks, including Divine vs. demonic, elves vs goblins, garruk vs liliana, and jace vs chandra. MSRP 99.99. Comes with 35 tokens. release date december 5th. I AM PUMPED, how about you?

I'm hoping D. Tutor takes a momentary drop. Even though I think I have one for each black deck I own, getting a couple extras with that cool art wouldn't hurt.

Perhaps we will be able to get it on Amazon or something for close to the MSRP, either as a preorder or later once availability has increased alongside a hype decrease.

@ Rayenous, the actual price of the product will depend on how many get printed versus the actual value of the cards in the decks. I'm not exactly well-versed in the contents of the original duel decks, but I'm pretty sure a lot of their value comes from the relative rarity of the sets themselves, as opposed to the cards contained within those sets.
It won't actually sell for $99, though, that's for sure.

I wouldn't mind having value cards (Demonic Tutor, Path to Exile, Remand etc.) in japanese and I'm desperately craving to own the anime Jace Beleren.

I'm seeing it for $199.99 on Amazon, though I'm expecting that to go down (looks like just one supplier is going that high). It has some nice pictures of what it looks like. Looks fancy.

80 euros here. Which is $100. Loads of places presaling on UK / European ebay for $100 and under. UK shops selling for around $120.

I'm pumped, but the over all value is really low, unless it's a sealed product. quietspec (I think it was danny brown) did a breakdown of the decks and the current value. Basically only the sealed product has held value of the ones currently out of print and released, with the majority of the singles not worth as much. Still good though, I need the demonic tutor and a few other bits and pieces, but am considering keeping it sealed....

And that's why you don't go to your local LGS or buy online. You go to Meijer, Target, Walmart, etc. to buy it and then you pay MSRP.

...if they carry it. hopefully it will be like the holiday gift box and be everywhere. I say 130 on ebay, i really gotta preorder now... For a good two month period i believe it will stay <200, but get 'em fast before that ends!

abenz419 I don't believe this will be a big box store release. My LGS saying this was a limited print run and for hobby distribution only (from what his distributor is saying). I'm one of the lucky ones, he'll charge msrp and pre-orders are even cheaper than that. But it looks like 1 per customer.

I don't think we'll see big ticket Magic items like this at Wal Mart or the like. If it's a limited print run, then I suppose we'll have to swallow our discomfort and pay $120-140 for it...

The problem is that $100 isn't a discount it is MSRP. Places selling it for $120 are just not happy with 66% markup and want 100-200%. They have the right to make some money, but I don't see why they need to make that damn much off of literally no work. They do no marketing, no advertising, I'm sure there will be no duel decks events. They open a box and hand you a smaller box from within and want to make $100 instead of $40.
I don't begrudge LGS being slightly higher on sleeves and boxes. I will usually buy my supplies from them even though I don't frequent FNM. But the one thing that makes me sad is the insane markup they put on LGS exclusive releases. I was hoping for C13 limited release, not MM limited release.

Lgss don't make much money usually anyway so I don't care much.
I don't think this product will be worth a lot more than its seeking for now for a number of years. But years are fine by me.

There are $150 worth of $2+ cards in there. Figuring that the prices on them will take a 20% dip since they are in a new product, you are looking at $120 in value, some boxes that look like they may hold sleeved cards this time, 200 basic lands and 150 bulk cards.

I was hoping this would be a mass market release, just so I could pick up a few singles, cheaply (just to have): Counterspell, Daze, Ancestral Vision, Demonic Tutor.

these are all original decks, with same expansion symbols and all original cards from who knows how many years ago
