I don't think there is one yet, at least not one posted recently. If there is, feel free to correct me.
I just found out about the mindslaver effect rule change. Basically, you can't look at your opponent's sideboard. Now how am I supposed to troll them by wishing for a card during their turn and killing them anyway? :/
June 28, 2016 1:21 p.m.
That rule change was mentioned last week. You're no longer allowed to look at your opponents SB when you control them. You can cast wish cards they will not resolve.
June 28, 2016 1:33 p.m.
DarkLaw - You may be getting that confused with other clarifications that have been made lately. Mainly that, when controlling another player, you are not allowed to see their 'Double Face' cards.
712.4. If information about an object would be visible to the player being controlled, its visible to both that player and the controller of the player.
Example: The controller of a player can see that players hand and the face of any face-down creatures he or she controls.
This information includes the sideboard as it is visible to the player being controlled... but does NOT include cards that are in the deck (which is where the double-faced cards technically are), because the cards in the deck are not visible to the player being controlled .

dunno, i kinda wanna play Noosegraf Mob in an Alesha zombie deck now. throw in stuff like Undead Warchief, Gravecrawler and Gary.
June 28, 2016 1:40 p.m.
Note: Still on Gatherer... for Mindslaver
7/1/2012 - You can see everything that player can see but you normally could not. This includes that players hand, face-down creatures, his or her sideboard, and any cards in his or her library that he or she looks at.
Some Wizards employee's social media accounts were apparently hacked recently... I'm not saying Tabak's reddit account was one of them... but apparently his account has been deleted since the rule change announcement that can no longer seem to be found anywhere.

Ah, ok. That makes sense now. The original post was deleted. However, that's not to say it wasn't an early leak for coming changes.

It's not official yet? I found this reference to it here but I couldn't find anything from Wizards.
EDIT: I meant about the sideboard rules change.

I am loving the flavor and progression of Delver of Secrets Flip for delver it Docent of perfection/final iteration. Thank you, Wizards.

I wonder
Let's say I gain 3 life, and on my 2nd Main I drop Lone Rider
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe I can flip in at the end step, correct?
June 28, 2016 3:09 p.m.
AgentGreen Yes it still flips. The trigger is at the end step and it checks the entire turn.

A sorcery speed Accumulated Knowledge (which now allows for this kind of ability in Modern) in tandem with Snapcaster Mage and Jace, Telepath Unbound Flip, seems fairly strong. Any graveyard heavy deck can make effective use of this card.
The real question is going to be: Is it better than Serum Visions?
(Which it probably isn't.)
June 28, 2016 3:17 p.m.
TMBRLZ How is this any good with Snapcaster Mage? It doesnt count itself as in the graveyard when flashbacking, and flashing it exiles it from your graveyard.
Serum Visions is much better, no question..

[Unsubstantiate] is decent, like Brutal Expulsion but not less modal and cheaper. It's too bad that origins is rotating because this would have put u/b flyers into t1. It is a strictly worse Remand for standard but with this, Just the Wind and Brutal Expulsion, you could make a nasty U/B Tempo deck.
June 28, 2016 3:50 p.m.
Origins and DTK are not rotating until the next block begins. You have a couple months.
June 28, 2016 4:20 p.m.
Let me see... so, the new Triple Delver makes Snapcaster Mage a target for Reprisal while still shockable...
I mean, it's that "dies to removal" argument and all that, but still...

averagenovice74 says... #25
blah, thank you. UR tempo and oh I though it rotates with eldrich moon? It rotates with kaladesh then? sweet. I can still jam Thunderbreak Regent for a couple more months.

Zaueski, I don't like angels, black is my favorite color, but Gisela is my favorite so far. The art and what it does is just awesome. I want a foil of her.
June 28, 2016 4:36 p.m.
Noose Graf Mob is actually pretty dope. I might slide it into my Shattergang Brothers deck. Like Mitotic Slime, Prossh, Skyraider of Kher, Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder or Sprouting Thrinax the Noose Grab Mob can give you exceptional board state and sacrifice material from just one card!
June 28, 2016 4:48 p.m.
Zaueski: Ulrich. Hands down. I never played werewolves before now but I felt inspired enough to make a deck. Now I have a new favorite deck, all thanks to everyone's request for a legendary werewolf.

I've never felt great about werewolves in EDH though. They're extremely sensitive to your opponents' actions. Normal decks that are heavily based on stomping around with creatures already have to contend with all of the normal things like board wipes, defenses and mitigation, blockers, removal.
On top of all of those, now you also have to contend with any of your likely multiple opponents casting more than one spell a turn or not failing to cast every turn. You have a limited ability to control this, and must now expend effort to do so on top of the usual issues you have to expend effort to contain. The added dimension for a neat but limited added benefit seems like it makes it really hard to play them. Maybe the worst part is it's kind of chaotic. You can't really steer it very much. You just kind of have to hope?
Side note: I play tons of decks that are not exactly "practical" but this seems like a lot to contend with on top of the usual stuff.
EDIT: I wanted to stress I hadn't seen this really addressed by anyone, so I thought here was as good a place as any.
June 28, 2016 5:10 p.m. Edited.
nobu_the_bard: So do a lot of creature-based decks. Nothing much can be done about that, except splashing white. The trick is to ensure their human sides are worthwhile, too. Anything that can benefit a werewolf will also benefit human werewolves too. Or play Obelisk of Urd, name werewolf, then watch as all of your humans get +2/+2 as well.
It's not easy, considering what you said. However, it's possible. With enough recursion, card gas, and some restraint (i.e. not overextend), werewolves could hold their own. They're a tricky tribe to play with, yes, but it's a case of buffing the Human side too. The typeline is the key.

Ok, as for the Lone Rider / It That Rides as One
- I think that White should be banned in standard :P
- Absurdly cheap and powerfull synergies between this, Thalia's Leutnant, Alway's Watching, upcoming Blessed Alliance and new Thalia are simply unexplainable to me.
- The only question I have after taking a good look to this wonderfull design is - WHY ISN'T IT BLACK?! Everything in the concept of this art stands for it. It should also have text like "...at the beginning of your end step, you lose 2 life". Nevertheless, why should a lone rider from Innistrad, who has first strike and lifelink ability (and somehow is not a vampire yet) be a White creature? Even more so if he is to be turned into Carpenter-like thing with even more potent lifelink (and hunger, obviously)? Where did trample come from, if it somehow still has to be a W creature in origin? Why not vigiliance? And, finally - why tere is literally no drawback from 4/4 First strike, trample, lifelink creature turn 3, which in Black would certainly cost you at least something like the pharese I mentioned above?
June 28, 2016 8:33 p.m.
Trample is from the horse. Riding someone down is what cavalry charges are known for doing.

With that horse thing, you could just cast Chaplain's Blessing on your next turn and boom, 4/4 horsey abomination thing. I do think that White is getting a bit out of hand. I personally believe that WotC should not encourage the current decks that are common such as tokens and CoCo, but actually make good cards with mechanics so that a Delirium or Madness deck could do well.
Also, I really, really want one of those Docent of Perfection, it goes well with the blue intro pack rare, which is surprisingly good for an intro pack rare. I could combine a Docent with a few of those and we got a control deck running...
Too bad Docent is 10 bucks preorder. Does anyone know if it will spike up or not after it is released?

Creature- Plant (Mythic rare)
Defender
Tap: Exchange target opponent's life total with Tree of Perdition's toughness.
There will be no absolution.

Reddit is already calling it Treeskaidekaphobia.
By the way, Maro has also confirmed that other than Ulrich, all DFCs in EMN are mutations a la Emrakul.

Just throwing this out there, does anyone else hate the art on Cemetery Recruitment? It's underwhelming, and that is the worst Liliana representation since Liliana of the Dark Realms.

So suddenly Triskaidekaphobia becomes playable... I wonder how much play this combo will see...

June 29, 2016 12:46 a.m.
PistonGolem, all the cards in EMN will vary wildly up until a couple weeks after the set releases. The best way to determine their value is to just hit the Gatherer and see what kind of brews the card would fit in, if it loos like it could be T1 it'll probably go up, all the others will go down. Based on it being 5 mana and not a lot of Wizard support in standard, I expect Docent to drop... but take that with a grain of salt because I was wrong on a few of my SOI predictions too lol

Would the Tree work with Necrotic Ooze? Could be a cool way to deal with infinite life combos in Modern, I suppose. Just let their combo go off, set their life total to 3, Lightning Bolt?
June 29, 2016 3:15 a.m.
@ JDMCRIB - If your asking does it work the way you describe as far as the rules go then yes that's how it works.
June 29, 2016 3:35 a.m.
JDMCRIB That actually might work in grixis. Blue for card draw and combo protection, black for Ooze and removal, and red for the Bolts and K Commands in case Ooze should end up in the yard.
Just need to find the ramp for it and some way to drop Tree of Perdition to grave :)
