I don't think there is one yet, at least not one posted recently. If there is, feel free to correct me.
Misread something on Soul Separator that I just caught now... The Zombie P/T is equal to the toughness... not P=P and T=T.
So, 'Soul Separator' + 'Tree of Perdition' in graveyard...
I get a 13/13 Zombie, and a 1/1 flier that can to make my opponents life total = 1, and become a 1/*.
Add to that Assault Formation and Triskaidekaphobia, and you are starting to build a very fun combo deck... all still in Standard.

If you exile a Duplicant, you get a 2/4 zombie and a 1/1 that has imprint when it etb trigger. Then the PT defining property layers over the 1/1 prescribed by the original card.

Kind of like The Mimeoplasm? It would be a whole lot better if you didn't sac it, maybe even playable.
June 29, 2016 3:04 p.m.
Jimmy_Chinchila The lore on Geralf and Ludevic only indicated we might get a zombie, not a team up card. Geralf and Gisa do traditionally hate each other but I think that's a huge flavor win because even the worst of enemies have to team up against this threat. We don't know the order of the story in the cards yet which I tried to explain through my examples earlier, they didn't make sense until they were placed in order even if their order was mostly guessable. Sorry if you can't grasp that, we don't have the set or the story yet so judging something flavor-wise as bad is premature and immature. The only thing we can evaluate now is the cards playability which is mediocre at best. As for their necromantic ways, having it be unspecified is the only way to demonstrate their respective styles in a team-up, which the flavor text indicates are still opposed.
Flavor remarks, especially negative ones are likely going to be invalidated anyways as the story releases. Learn to be positive or at least keep negative comments to yourself, no one else wants to read about your complaining.

Ravenous you are wrong it is p=p and t=t for the separator zombie token

Looks like we finally found out what was hiding in the wave in Engulf the Shore. Looks pretty interesting I have to say.
Also an interesting vampire:
Voldaren Pariah
CMC: 3BB
Flying
Sacrifice 3 other creatures: transform Voldaren Pariah
Madness: BBB
P/T: 3/3
Abolisher of Bloodlines
Flying
When this creature transforms into Abolisher of Bloodlines, target opponent sacrifices three creatures
P/T: 6/5
June 29, 2016 3:35 p.m.
NEW WEREWOLVES!
HERE THEY ARE! Show
They transform through an activated ability, and don't transform back. Pointing out the synergy with Vildin-Pack Alpha Flip. I love them so much. :3
June 29, 2016 3:36 p.m.
Looking at those werewolves...unnerve me. The Vorthos in me is very hesitant to run them in EDH. But...werewolves.
June 29, 2016 3:46 p.m.
Elder Deep Fiend is REALLY good.
What would you want to sacrifice for it in standard right now? Like what creature would you play on T3 so that you could use it T4 then sacrifice it for the Kraken beats?
June 29, 2016 3:51 p.m.
Few new werewolves got spoiled... Don't think they're quite playable in anything but limited, but I may be wrong concerning the green one...
June 29, 2016 3:54 p.m.
bretters - You're right!
I just read "...power and toughness equal to that card's toughness." when I skim-read the card the second time.

Why do the card with meld require that the player both control and own the cards? Why can the player not simply take control of an opponent's creature and meld it with their own?

Zaueski seeing as how I've been playing this game longer than you've likely been alive I'm hesitant to accept any sort of feedback from you. Also, seeing as how this is probably the 50th spoiler season for me as compared to your 5th I don't know that you're in any place to comment on how things typically play out. Lastly, complaining is rather different than saying I find the flavor to be lacking. I don't recall being notified this forum was now a "safe space" where we must only talk of happy things like rainbows and butterflies, and I'm sorry you misunderstand the purpose of a public forum in a game predominantly played by adults. I'm sure there's a Pokemon site somewhere where you can feel safe from people expressing opinions that differ from your own or that you deem to be negative. Good work on all the updates though, going to Mythic Spoiler and cutting and pasting images is something I lack the time to do. Oh, and if we voted I bet the T/O community would be about 50-50 as to whether this was a flavor fail. See, some of us played the game during the original Innistrad block where we were first exposed to this mythos and Magic players tend to be very opinionated on what's good vs bad or cool vs dumb so if you don't like people commenting on their impressions of new cards you may want to steer clear of the Spoilers forum. If we want to just see pics of new cards we go to Mythic Spoiler. Happy brewing to you!
Sorry to everyone for addressing this Uthden Troll here. Back to the good stuff!

DemonDragonJ the problem with not owning half of a meld is when it asks if you own the permanent. To many rules would get icky with meld, which is already pretty complicated.

TL;DR for Jimmy_Chinchila: I've been playing longer than you so my opinion is obviously more important than yours.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. Shots fired. How did I miss this fight?

Pretty much SandyDufresne. No point in arguing with someone that is intent on being right to that extent. So what do you guys think about the werewolves? Are they playable with the Geier Reach Bandit Flip like Crayfish suggested? Or are they just another instance of Wizards refusing to make werewolves a competitive tribe?

SandyDufresne My favorite part is when he tries to make Zaueski the troll in the situation and pretend that he is in the right.

I really like the 4 drop one with Geier Reach Bandit Flip, but it's a little clunky. The Savannah Doggy is pretty okay on its own though.

At ~$1 I feel like Bandit is a tremendous pick up. A Haster with definite upside? I know what I am targeting Friday at FNM...

SandyDufresne: Correct.
On the side note, I have played since Conflux and I don't see what WotC did as a flavor fail. Go ahead, Jimmy_Chinchila, raise the angry mob. I don't care.

I think I'd need a little bit more of a push before I sleeve up some werewolves... Immerwolf would be perfect but I'll be very surprised if we get that one, here's hoping Wizards gives us the low cost wolves we need...

To be fair Gisa and Geralf teaming up doesn't quite make sense to me either, but oh well. And you would expect some sort of stitcher effect too rather than what it is which feels more Gisa-ish. But they don't want to make the card too complicated.
I was thinking it would've been funny if one of them killed the other and then brought them back as a zombie servant. Then the card could've been Human Zombie.
June 29, 2016 5:08 p.m.
Zaueski maybe an eldrazi werewolf lord of sorts? Eldimmerwolf? Who knows. Otherwise, that Elder Deep fiend looks pretty darn good. I wonder if there will be any emerge --> emerge into something else strategies in the format, this guy could certainly be the 2nd emergent. The eldrazi hypogriff for example could come down T4, and this T5 for . That's pretty sick. Not to mention that you draw a card off of the hypogriff, so its value isn't completely wasted. Just a thought.
June 29, 2016 5:13 p.m.
Yeah, I definitely expect the Elder Deep-Fiend to see a lot of play. It's the best colorless creature revealed thus far in my opinion. I'm wondering if Aristocrats will modify itself to include Blue or if this will find a different home.

Deckologist The question from your post #603 - put Tree trigger on the stack, then cast Sudden Spoiling before passing priority.

Is anyone else loving how creepy and horrifying some of the cards in this set are? Innistrad, Dark Ascension, and Shadows over Innistrad were really filled with creepy stuff, but I feel like Eldritch Moon goes over all of them in terms of disturbing, weird, and horrors.
June 29, 2016 5:22 p.m.
GoldGhost012 I agree completely, the designers definitely did a great job at pushing the Cosmic Horror theme that they were aiming for.
June 29, 2016 5:29 p.m.
nobu_the_bard says... #36
The old Innistrad was "classic horror" which draws from old myths.
New Innistrad is Lovecraftian-like Old Ones horror. A big part of that is facing the inexplicable and unknown, and accepting you'll never fully understand what you're up against.
It's an aspect of that sort of thing not really explored in the Zendikar sets, who were mostly concerned with the "gigantic, implacable enemy" aspect and less on the mystery. Shadows/Eldritch touch on that only a little bit it seems.
It also shows off their new interest in having the sets be more interconnected themewise, as alluded to in various places by Wizards staff.

Can someone give me clarification on the emerge tech? Is it you sac a creature and pay the emerge cost or does the cmc of the creature "subtract" from the emerge cost?
Example: the new elder deep-fiend; I have a three drop. I sac it to the fiend, is the emerge cost ? or is it ?
June 29, 2016 5:54 p.m. Edited.
averagenovice74, it would be . Note the emerge reminder says: "...paying the emerge cost reduced by the sac'ed creature's CMC..."

shinobigarth says... #40
Subtracts. That's why that dude is nuts cause you could cast him dirt cheap.
Also worth mentioning you could chain them, so cast one then emerge a 2nd one saccing the first and tapping 8 down total.
June 29, 2016 6:37 p.m.
shinobigarth Then I ultimate price or anguish unmaking your guy and you've just 3 for 1'd yourself.....it's not going to be that good.
June 29, 2016 6:42 p.m. Edited.
DrFunk27 ETB/Cast effects, however, won't make it a true 3 for 1.
June 29, 2016 6:47 p.m.
Still not worth it. This has Pearl Lake Ancient written all over it.
June 29, 2016 6:48 p.m.
The Kraken is awesome. Pearl Lake Ancient was also awesome and saw high level play so if your trying to discredit this new Kraken then PLA isn't the comparison you want to make..
June 29, 2016 7:11 p.m.
PLA was played for a few big Tournaments and soon tapered off. It was not a format defining card lol So, no. This kraken will not see much play.

Hey guys if I tap to activate Tree of Perdition's ability and then cast Twisted Image on it in response, would it set my opponent's life to 0?
June 29, 2016 7:23 p.m.
GoldGhost012 says... #47
Pretty sure that after Twisted Image resolves, the Tree will die before its ability resolves, so when the ability does resolve, it won't do anything because it won't find the Tree on the battlefield when it checks for its toughness.
June 29, 2016 7:29 p.m. Edited.
@ DrFunk27 - Here's the "big" Tournaments it was in. More than "a few".

Seems pretty defining to me. Sure it's no Island but then what is? PLA is one of the MOST defining creatures of it's time IMO. When you compare it to cards like Lightning Bolt or Gideon, Champion of Justice or Siege Rhino then it doesn't seem as iconic but when you consider that control was a very big part of the META at the time and that this guy was the creature of choice for those decks more often then not then the notion of dismissing this creature as being unimportant is absurd.
June 29, 2016 7:29 p.m.
shinobigarth says... #49
Dies to removal is not a valid argument for whether a creature is good or not. Tarmogoyf dies to a lot of stuff in modern, guess that means he sucks.
I was just pointing out you can sac the first one and pay UU for the second one, and it does trigger on cast not on ETB. I'm not playing this guy though just pointing something out.
Jimmy_Chinchila says... #1
Zaueski how about we don't need to know the whole story to know all of the foreshadowing has been leading to a Geralf-Ludevic team-up, not a Gisa-Geralf team-up? How about all the prior flavor discussing an ongoing feud? How about the fact that we don't need to know the whole story to see that this card does nothing that relates to the two different methods of necromancy? I don't see it saying exile zombies to put an X/X into play, i.e. stitching? Anguished was not at all the same case, Avacyn's evilness/new look were literally the poster for the set's release and it was well established Sorin was her maker. Maybe it didn't make sense to you...
More importantly, how about the fact that I am entitled to my opinion in a forum specifically for discussing spoilers as they are released, and that you are welcome to yours but trying to bash me for posting my thoughts is lame, pointless and in no way contributes anything to the conversation? You could have explained why you disagreed but you chose to rather display sardonic arrogance. How about that?
