EMRAKUL IS COMING... BUT WHEN?

Probably in September/October of 2018.

According to the Wikipedia list of Magic the Gathering sets, which adds to the list all the future sets and their codenames, the first set name for the fifth block to come out following SOI block is "Spaghetti" with the second set's codename being "Meatballs."

I don't know about you all, but Sphagetti means only one thing to me when it comes to MtG.

Emrakul

Just a theory. But a decent one I think.

What do you all think? Any ideas for the other codenames of the future? Think any of these will be our promised Ravnica part 3?

Please explain how Khans, Fate, and Dragons relate to the terms "Huey, Duey, and Luey".

Codenames have nothing to do with the actual set, they're just something cute that R&D calls the sets that they're working on. Spaghetti and meatballs is just a new 2 word phrase used to arbitrarily name the set.

I mean, if they had called the sets "Mom's" followed by "Spaghetti," would that mean Marit Lage and Emrakul in the same block?

@DevoidMage

Long before the announcement of Khans of Tarkir, people were stating the set would be 'Wedge-Color' based on the Red/Green/Blue colors of Huey, Dewey and Louis outfits.

Does this mean that 'Spaghetti' is going to have Emrakul? - Not likely... it's more likely that it was a coincidence. - But some people have a continued belief that the 'code names' hold a minor link/hint to the sets themes/design.

They attribute 'Blood/Sweat' to the hardships on Zendikar and 'Tears/Fears' to the disturbances/terrors of Innistrad.

Some are now saying that 'Barrel/Laughs' is not referencing a Standard set, but rather an 'Un-Set' that will be released around the same time.

I don't put any real stock in these, as they appear to be more coincidental and/or contrived than anything else... but there are still those who wish to read into these code-names. - If they are true... then this theory seems no less likely than any other.

If they named it Moms Spaghetti I'm pretty sure we could be getting an Eminem "Slim Shady" Planeswalker.

Lock/Stock is interesting. If you think of Stock as a gun stock and Lock as in "lock and load" could suggest Magic going to a slightly more technologically advanced plane than mere "dungeons and dragons" technology. What about a steampunk world...

My hope: KALADESH SET! A set with more thopter cards, maybe a hangarback reprint! Artifacts, artifacts everywhere!

PistonGolem The term 'Lock, Stock and Barrel', though a term derived from old guns, is actually used to represent 'The whole thing', or 'all the parts'.

This could still refer to a somewhat 'Steam Punk' set (Kaladesh or perhaps Vryn), but, if the code-names contain hints (and I'm not convinced they do), I'm hoping it's a reference to MaRo finally figuring out 'Contraption'.

Something I just thought of is during the Zendikar block they made mention of the fact that Emrakul had been missing for quite a while. What if Emrakul was missing because Naheri was summoning Her to Innistrad?

That's what everybody is wanting to happen. I assumed the "shadow" over Innistrad would be Emrakul but that probably isn't what's going to happen. I don't think even Nahiri is that hellbent on revenge that she'd summon about the very thing she probably hates more than Sorin.
