Enemy Colored Man Lands

Spoilers, Rumors, and Speculation forum

So, last time we visited Zendikar, we got a cycle of man lands. Enter:

Celestial Colonnade

Stirring Wildwood

Lavaclaw Reaches

Creeping Tar Pit

and Raging Ravine.

I know it's a little early for spoilers as Origins is still in progress, but I'm hoping for new man lands in Modern. Thoughts?

Not Origins. Most likely set would be Battle for Zendikar...

On whether or not they will be printed in Origins:

I think it's safe to say that WOTC will one day print the other 5 man lands. However, when they do so is very up in the air. It absolutely makes sense that they could do it in BFZ since we can assume the flavor will continue to fit. Origins? I'd say not so much. That said, we really can't say more than "yeah, maybe!"

On my opinion of new man lands:

I. Love. Manlands. I think that most people do. They provide one with a means of playing lands while not getting mana flooded as often, seeing as your lands can be "spells." The same is true for the entire Landfall mechanic, which is one reason why it was so successful. That said, I really don't think we will begin to see anything close to this until we return to Zendikar. From what I can tell, none of this begins to fit with the story behind origins. That is, unless all these random origin planes have some serious ground pollution going on...

I was actually talking about BfZ but I should have made that clearer haha. Anyway, do you think Wizards would allow it?

If we're talking BFZ, it's fetches or riot.

What vishnarg said. 50+ USD for a singular Scalding Tarn is outrageous

They could do the Fetches AND Manlands if they love us :T

Been waiting for a manland.

I mean...they did fetches and man lands in original Zendikar block. It's not like they couldn't again. Still, I don't think we should expect it. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than displeased.

I dont see why they couldn't reprint both, see ling as they have no actual interaction with each other and man lands aren't mana fixing by any means.

iLikeDirt says... #11

Um, man lands in this case ARE mana fixing seuvius.

But I agree, it's entirely possible we see both. If I had to prioritize which one I would rather see I would want to see ZEN fetches every time though.

FinchFalcon says... #12

It's totally possible that man lands happen in the second BFZ set, whatever that is. I'd say fetches seem more likely for the first though.

i agree 100%,fetches over man lands all day! im honestly way more stoked for the set now because of this thread!

I actually had a conversation on this very topic while coming home from a ptq the other day. More than one person came up with the idea, which means it has to be true. #EnemyManLandsConfrimed.

I just hope they don't screw up the G/B Manland. I can already sense it: 2GB this land becomes a 2/2 creatue with deathtouch until end of turn, it's still a land...

What about fetches in Dbz and good manlands in dbz's second set?

An uncolored man land...a walking Hedron or an Eldrazi perhaps?

Speculation and Spoilers should not be the same forum. I always get excited by titles like this, only to be madly disappointed by a speculation thread :(

June 11, 2015 10:30 a.m.

Two things:

First- One of the Planeswalkers we'll be getting the origin of is Nissa, who, you know, is from Zendikar. And we already know that all ten of the related planes (home planes and the first ones they walked to) will be represented. So there is a possibility of some land stuff for Zendikar in Origins.

Second- Why are you abbreviating Battle for Zendikar to DBZ?

It's Dragon Ball Zendikar silly

June 11, 2015 11:28 a.m.

... Fuck yeah.

FinchFalcon says... #23

I'm honestly just really excited that in the space of two years, we'll go from one Nissa card to four (assuming Nissa gets a card in BFZ). I've been waiting for more Nissa ever since Zendikar first released. She was the first Planeswalker I ever pulled from a pack, during my first ever draft!

June 11, 2015 11:49 a.m.

Gideon17 says... #24

Nissa got printed recently

I really hope some good manlands in dragon ball zendikar

What about you guys?

June 12, 2015 1:45 p.m.

FinchFalcon says... #25

Nissa got printed recently, but she's already confirmed in Origins as one of the five the set focuses in on, and she was so central to the original Zendikar plot that I don't see them failing to give her a card in the return. It might not happen in BfZ, but definitely by the second set. Kiora and Nahiri might get new cards too.

Gideon17 says... #26

Its weird that the 5 walkers in origins were on zendikar... 2 versions of some of them will be in standard.

June 12, 2015 8:23 p.m.

Liliana wasn't on Zendikar, to my knowledge.

Oops, i forgot her, dammit wizards, why no sorin???
