crossing my fingers for a Mana Crypt printing in here.

Chrome Mox? That seems like reasonable to come back here.

I am desperately hoping for a Sylvan Library reprint. That card is so expensive right now. After that, I'm hoping for a Green Sun's Zenith reprint. Glimpse of Nature wouldn't go amiss either.
(Yes I am looking to get into elves, what gave it away)

@Crotale Sylvan Library is $28, not $108. Tappedout grabs the wrong price.
April 19, 2016 1:23 p.m.
@lemmingllama depends on the printing. The Commanders Arsenal print is quite rightly 60 (If I'm right, that should be almost $100). Whereas earlier prints are at least half that. The one that's automatically shown is from MTGO, which i think has the Arsenal price.Sylvan Library
April 19, 2016 2:11 p.m.
It may not be the price fetched by TappedOut but 40 euros a pop certainly fits my definition of really expensive.
April 19, 2016 4:59 p.m.
Yes! WOTC said this set will support Commander, what better way to do that than by reprint a staple like Sylvan Library?
April 27, 2016 7:16 a.m.
Considering WotCs past reputation for the master's sets, I'm expecting:
All garbage at common.
Mostly garbage at uncommon.
Half of the rares to be trash.
And all of the Mythics to be high-end pricey cards, with only 1, maybe two, that are junk to open.
I hope to God I'm wrong though. Heck, maybe we'll get a MM1 again.
April 27, 2016 7:57 a.m.
EpicFreddi says... #10
Guftders Is there even a reason why they did shit like this in MM2? I mean what's the reasoning behind putting fucking commet storm at mythic while there're goyfs floating arround.
April 27, 2016 8:26 a.m.
If they are to support commander...
Maybe they'll reprint True-Name Nemesis? Or even Baleful Strix
April 27, 2016 8:40 a.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #12
ZeGinger it would need to be mythic. I'm not someone who usually cares about rarity for draft purposes, but TNN would, like Umezawa's Jitte, NEED to be mythic
April 27, 2016 9:26 a.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #13
Then of course there is option B, with True-Name Nemesis, Lightning Bolt, Swords to Plowshares, Sol Ring, Pack Rat, Umezawa's Jitte, and Vampire Nighthawk all at common
April 27, 2016 9:27 a.m.
How big are the chances for Imperial Recruiter really? Its twice as expensive as Tarmogoyf but mostly because of its rarity. Once printed it will go down, but are the initial $300+ too much value to be included in the set to start with? How much do you think it will be worth once there are more in circulation?
April 27, 2016 9:41 a.m.
EpicFreddi Basically, they designed the set SPECIFICALLY with the draft environment in mind. The fact that they prioritised the draft environment over reprints is why it's so terrible. I feel like they just had a dart board of archetypes and picked them out at random.

Fleetwood-Mat says... #16
Maybe they could've done the duals in this set as a special set (like expeditions) where the rarity of them is so great, that you'd be unlikely to get playsets or complete sets of them. It would be awesome if wizards did that, but something tells me the projected value of this set is already beyond requiring such a scheme, however, it is always fun to hope.

mathimus55 says... #17
They can't reprint duals in paper to any extent because of the several times now mentioned reserved list. No physical copies will be printed while the reserved list exists.
April 29, 2016 2:20 p.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #18
You could get around the reserve list by making a needlessly complex version. For example
Atoll
Forest, Island
When Atoll enters the battlefield, if it was played from your hand, gain one life.
When Atoll enters the battlefield, if it was not played from your hand, lose one life
April 29, 2016 4:29 p.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #19
Or,
Smoldering Sea Trench
Island, Mountain
When Smoldering Sea Trench enters the battlefield, you may pay . If you do, target player gains two life. If you do not, you lose one life
April 29, 2016 4:32 p.m.
Or,
Babagajuba
Island, Swamp
When Babagajuba enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you exile a card from your graveyard.
April 29, 2016 4:36 p.m.
lemmingllama says... #21
Or,
Scrying Tundra
Plains Island
When Scrying Tundra enters the battlefield, reveal the bottom card of your library.
April 29, 2016 4:52 p.m. Edited.
mathimus55 is right unfortunately. The hype is in hopes that there will be relevant reprints, but the reality is that, like both Modern Masters, they try so hard to make it a draft friendly format that they don't include enough constructed playable reprints except for a few chase mythics.

ToolmasterOfBrainerd says... #24
If they did complex duals, they should be in EMA at uncommon, then in every subsequent supplementary product (like dual decks) and in every commander product so they stay at $4-$5, or possibly up to $10 because of commander players, but as long as they're not over $10 each, since any more expensive and it defeats the purpose imo.
April 29, 2016 7:31 p.m.
Cheating out duals like that goes against the spirit of the reserved list. It's not going to happen. Let it go.
April 30, 2016 3:50 p.m. Edited.
mathimus55 says... #26
What Crotale said. Instead of beating the infinitely dead horse about getting duals for your edh decks, why not get realistic about expectations for EMA? Damnation? Sure. This is probably as good a chance to get it reprinted as any. Underground Sea? Stop...
April 30, 2016 4:15 p.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #27
mathimus55 If Damnation wasn't in FTV:Anninhilation, I doubt we'll EVER see it again.
April 30, 2016 6:06 p.m.
mathimus55 says... #28
That's a pretty narrow point of view. I don't see Damnation as a card that WotC puts in product like FTVs. FTV sets sell fairly well regardless and Damnation is one of those supreme chase cards at this point that they can put in a set that might be needing a little kick in the pants EV wise to help it sell. It's in the realm of Zendikar fetches, they're not just going to put it in a set/product just because they can. As much as WotC says they don't pay attention to the secondary market, they do. They wouldn't put a $60+ single into something that sells for $34.99.
April 30, 2016 6:28 p.m.
TheRedMage says... #29
Didn't the aforementioned FTV: Annihilation have Burning of Xinye and Rolling Earthquake, both $150+ cards at the time? Granted, the reason those cards were in such a high demand is the low, low supply rather than a high demand. Still.

Also, Jace, the Mind Sculptor was in FTV: 20, and he was a little over $100 at the time (assuming that I'm remembering correctly).
April 30, 2016 8:49 p.m.
CheeseBro I'm guessing in 2 weeks. The release date is June 10th, which would give us approximately 3 weeks of spoilers.
May 1, 2016 9:28 a.m.
EndStepTop says... #33
SpringingTiger Jtms has seen less play, he's only used in blade/shardless(both running 2 at the most) and miracles anymore maybe out of the board of BUG delver, which is on the decline due to grixis delver.
May 1, 2016 9:31 a.m.
ToolmasterOfBrainerd says... #34
EndStepTop you just listed (approximately) 30% of the meta. In fact, including lands, JTMS is the 11th most played card in Legacy, according to mtgtop8. In fact, it's the 5th most played nonland card in legacy.
However, running 2 is pretty typical, and 3 is greedy.
May 1, 2016 9:43 a.m.
I run 3 because its Jace the motherfucking Mindsculptor :). Tipping the Scale
May 1, 2016 10:23 a.m.
EndStepTop says... #36
ToolmasterOfBrainerd yeah I should have clarified that in previous years big daddy jace was 3-4 of in the decks I mentioned and mandatory 2 of in bug delver. His use has fallen and that contributed to his lowered price far more than the ftv reprint.

JohnnyBaggins says... #38
I hope they start spoiling things so people can stop hoping for cards.
May 2, 2016 9:49 a.m.
@JohnnyBaggins - They could literally spoil every card for EMA today and people would still be hoping for reprints. "Darn! Damnation still wasn't reprinted! We'll maybe we'll get it in CNS2. That would seem like an awesome place to print it!"
May 2, 2016 9:53 a.m.
lemmingllama says... #41
@ZeGinger Mox Diamond is on the reserved list, so it can't be reprinted.

I just want reprints of cards that can't currently be foiled for my Titania deck...
May 2, 2016 12:54 p.m.
DemonDragonJ says... #43
Is it possible that Sol Ring may be in this set? It is banned in legacy, but it is legal (albeit restricted) in vintage, so it would be nice to be able to obtain a foil version of it without needing to spend $20 or more on the From the Vault: Relics version of it.
May 3, 2016 12:45 a.m.
DemonDragonJ Pretty much a guarantee, I think. Though they might rarity upgrade it for "drafting".
May 3, 2016 8:22 a.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #45
I disagree. Sol Ring is banned in legacy and restricted in vintage, so much of the eternal value has been diminished. It has also seen a reprint in EVERY commander product, so the price is quite manageable.
It is also one of the most powerful draft cards ever. When you look at pick data from the MTGO holiday power cubes, sol ring comes in first, ahead of all the moxen.
It's a really, really good card. It also means that you could be stuck in a situation where you could pick the $5 sol ring or the $75 force of will, and the sol ring is the better call for draft.
May 3, 2016 9:30 a.m.
mathimus55 says... #46
This I do agree w/ Serendipitous_Hummingbird on. Sol Ring gets reprinted in nearly every commander set and there are oodles of copies everywhere. Sure it's a crazy powerful card, but I would be kind of disappointed if Sol Ring is included.
I think in general saying that any one card that hasn't been spoiled already being a "guarantee" is a little hyperbolic. There are SO many cards and archetypes and draft environments they can make with the huge range of cards they're planning on using that narrowing down 1 card as a shoe in at this point is a bit excessive.
May 3, 2016 12:53 p.m.
mathimus55 I was talking primarily from an EDH perspective, as some of the discussion on here seems to neglect the fact that this set won't JUST support Vintage/Legacy, but also Cube and EDH.
May 3, 2016 1:11 p.m.
DarkLaw, idk much like sol ring, it warps draft environments.
00xtremeninja says... #1
But they will never print cards on the reserved list unless some sort of crazy thing happens. Face it, Dual Lands are going to be astronomical again, Sliver Queen will never be foil except for the jumbo commander card, and if you want a foil Metalworker be prepared to shell out a few hundred.
IMO, we would need all of the old guard to retire and get fresh blood in there to even get the conversation started on reprinting the reserved list, and even then, there will be younger guys there now, who will be old by then, who will put the stop to that nonsense. I truly think the only way Wizards goes away from the Reserved list is if their product sales start to take a huge dive and they can't recover. That list not only protects the collector market, but is one last safety switch they can pull should they ever need it. But with more people playing and getting into the game, that won't need to happen unless they fall short on several sets over the course of a few years. The guys that started playing this game in the start have their kids playing, and their kids are going to teach their kids, and so on. And as long as there are strategy game enthusiast, Magic will survive.
