Should be but do you reckon that it will actually be the case?

because cards like Gush and Demonic Tutor make draft awesome and see play in EDH

Crotale, which Legacy-banned are being suggested?

Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #6
oh, and on an unrelated note I wouldn't mind Daze reprint.
I don't play MTGO, but I hear it's about 25 tix there.
I just don't want to pay $4 each for my pauper deck
OH and speaking of PAUPER, other than fun new toys from downshifted rarities, Battle Screech and Chainer's Edict at common would be nice, just to create some continuity between MTGO and paper pauper. And a Oubliette reprint because if paper pauper ever takes off that card will spike to AT LEAST $70 a copy

I think that including Demonic Tutor as a rare will generate a lot of interest. Ultimately, E.D.H. players are highly likely to go for this set. Including such cards is a good thing.
February 28, 2016 10:41 p.m.
Paper pauper is based off of MTGO pauper. That's why Sinkhole and Hymn to Tourach aren't legal in the format. Battle Screech and Chainer's Edict are both legal in paper and online pauper.

Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #9
kyuuri117 I know, and can you imagine MBC with access to sinkhole and hymn?
But it would still be nice to have some continuity.

Is it possible that Mirari's Wake may be in this set, or has it been reprinted too often in recent years to be printed again, here?
Birds of Paradise would also be a very nice inclusion in this set, since it has not been reprinted for many sets due to WotC deciding, for some reason, that mana-generating creatures in standard should not cost only 1 mana to cast.
February 29, 2016 10:08 p.m.
DemonDragonJ, not some reason, the same reason counterspell turned into cancel and lightning bolt turned into lightning strike. It had a great impact on the standard format, making it much faster than it should.
March 1, 2016 4:21 a.m.
ifired We've never had Counterspell in Modern, we've only ever had Cancel. We probably wouldn't have such a mess of format if we did, since Modern is essentially a 4 color format (Blue is only a combo enabler atm).
Also, if anything, Counterspell wouldn't slow the format down?
March 1, 2016 11:44 a.m.
DemonDragonJ, it's bad when it's faster than my deck. ;)

ThisIsBullshit says... #15
DemonDragonJ I think Standard quickly because a meta of two or three super fast ramp decks, leaving no room for control or other archetypes because they weren't viable.

I think that Hand of Justice would be very nice, since it has never been reprinted, and has a very powerful ability, and, while I have mentioned it, Gaze of Justice would be a welcome reprint, as well.

Would like the following:
Daze
Minamo, School at Water's Edge
Ad Nauseam
Sensei's Divining Top (I don't care if it's not draft friendly, I want it)
Deathrite Shaman
Rishadan Port
Stonecloaker (up for a reprint)
Llanowar Elves (new art)
March 7, 2016 10:56 a.m.
As someone who invested in 4x Gaea's Cradle as well as Bayous and a Savannah I can definitely get behind a Deathrite Shaman reprint. I'm trying to buy in to an Elves deck and anything which will make the cards cheaper would be really helpful for me personally.

Diabolic Intent would be neat too. Or Infernal Tutor.
March 8, 2016 2:45 a.m.
I second the vote for Diabolic Intent, that would be awesome.

Well, since that is marketed toward EDH as well, Yawgmoth's Will Would be nice and it's played in both Vintage and EDH.
March 8, 2016 9:27 a.m.
TheInsanelyMadWizard says... #25
This is my first time seeing Yawgmoth's Will. It looks pretty sick!
March 8, 2016 9:31 a.m.
SpringingTiger says... #26
Unfortunately, Yawgmoth's Will is on the reserved list.
March 8, 2016 9:38 a.m.
Coinman1863 says... #27
Damn, I forgot. I play too much EDH, I see it a lot.
March 8, 2016 9:44 a.m.
TheInsanelyMadWizard says... #28
Yeah. Amazing cards are always on the reserved list....

Anyone have any thoughts on Mirri's Guile getting a reprint? It's not on the reserved list and it's a staple in enchantress decks.

DemonDragonJ says... #30
I would like to see Phyrexian Tyranny in this set, since it has never been reprinted and would look awesome in the new border.
I may have already asked this, but, if this set is popular, and it certainly will be, might it become a recurring product? I see no reason for it not to be.
March 8, 2016 10:27 p.m.
yes, if this is as popular as Modern Masters,a it will probably be in a rotation as the summer special set (Modern Masters one year, eternal masters the next, repeat).
March 10, 2016 4:17 p.m.
If that does end up happening then the price of cards on the reserved list are going to go through the roof, especially the dual lands.
March 10, 2016 7:36 p.m.
I don't think that would be bad pskinn01!
I'd buy several EMA boosters before buying any other product and it would also allow me to buy the singles I need (read Force of Will & Wasteland) a lot cheaper...Not bad at all!!

Has anyone yet mentioned Overabundance in this thread? That card is a nice combination of Mirari's Wake and Manabarbs, and definitely deserves a reprint, in my mind.
March 13, 2016 12:39 a.m.
Overabundance is an ok card. Personally while I can see it deserves a reprint I would hate if I pulled it as a rare unless they made Overabundance appear often and for big fatties to appear sparingly.
My fear is I build a deck using 3x Overabundance (because everybody passes on it) and 2x fatties and an opponent who also took 2x fatties ends up casting Woodfall Primus, or something else terrifying, off my Overabundance.
It's a seemingly "fun" card that's actuallyt he worst card in your deck when you're giving your opponent's free ramp that they can use.
March 14, 2016 12:45 a.m.
What are the chances of a Snapcaster Mage reprint? I know he sees much less play in Legacy than in Modern but some Miracle lists run him. I'm guess the chances are pretty low?
March 16, 2016 9:02 p.m.
I'd guess incredibly low Crotale. You have to imagine they'd save a Snappy reprint for a set he could be the face of (say... a MM3 set in summer 2017)
March 16, 2016 9:04 p.m.
Crotale saj0219 do not forget that snappy was the RPTQ promo card as well, so I'd say the chances are really, really low..
March 18, 2016 8:28 a.m.
Im just kind of jumping in here, so this may have been discussed already, but does anyone know where to pre order a booster case? How about the best price on a box you folks have seen?
March 19, 2016 2:42 p.m.
Hopefully I can scrounge enough money to get a box. Opening that foil FOW would just be cake xdAlso Sneak Attack because I want all of them lol.

As far as potential reprints that won't kill box EV, help support draft archetypes, and because we need another land after Wasteland, why not Wirewood Lodge, Goblin Burrows and their brethren?? Elves and Goblins are both fairly popular tribes in Legacy, and this could help the draft format without giving us awful color-fixers or ridiculously unlikely reprints. Then again, I see Merfolk being a more likely candidate for the blue tribe than Wizards, so who knows.
March 29, 2016 2:41 a.m.
I want the slow fetchlands like Rocky Tar Pit and its kin. (at common)
March 29, 2016 11:38 a.m.
DemonDragonJ says... #43
A reprint of Book of Rass would be nice, as it is an obscure older card that not many people remember, and I also would like to see either Planar Portal or Ring of Three Wishes in this set, as well, because cards that provide card advantage and that can be put into any deck are always welcome.

I want Flusterstorm
but in a limited environment, that would be back breaking
March 30, 2016 2:41 p.m.
TheRedMage says... #45
Flusterstorm actually does very close to nothing in most limited formats lol.
I hope his set has Preordain so I can get a foil for my pauper cube for less than eleventeen bajillion dollars.
April 1, 2016 3:01 a.m. Edited.
JohnnyBaggins says... #46
I'm not sure which Limited Formats 00xtremeninja has played, but in those that I've been playing, Flusterstorm would be in close contention for "card that's left in the pack more likely than a basic land".
April 3, 2016 5:35 p.m.
00xtremeninja says... #48
Meh, drafting it would be fun to drop on someone as they tap out to play multiple spells or creatures.
April 3, 2016 10:01 p.m.
TheRedMage says... #49
But that is kind of the problem isn't it? In most limited games that doesn't happen. Hell in some limited decks I don't even have an instant or sorcery. For tgat card to be good you need
- For them to play an instant or sorcery. That means they have some, they draw one, and cast it.
- For you to have the mana open when that happens.
- For them to tap out, or have cast enough spells that they don't have mana to pay for it.
Crotale says... #1
I know this set is to support Vintage too but I'm not sure that they will be printing cards which are banned in Legacy considering that's the primary focus.
