I had a Eureka! moment about Journey into Nyx today...
So WotC released the first installment of A Planeswalker's Guide to Born of the Gods today. I combed through it, and found this to be interesting:
Yet the paradox of divinity is that god cannot destroyor creategod. Although they resent Xenagos's intrusion, the rest of the pantheon cannot expel him from their midst. Nor can a being born of Theros strike a god from the sky. Heliod, god of the sun and patron of justice, feels a sense of responsibility for the plane's salvation. He has begun preparing a way to restore the proper order, although what he plans will require much work, and much sacrifice.
Yes, this confirms that Xenegos does become a God. But, the thing I found most interesting was the "no being born of Theros" part. Guess who isn't born of Theros? You guessed it.
So my prediction? Heliod brings her out of exile, says he's sorry, and promptly sends her into Nyx to defeat Xenegos once and for all. Elspeth was not born of Theros. And my guess is she gets to chose a companion. Are we thinking Ajani based on the art that was released a while ago?
Kind of copying Macbeth here on WotC's part, but I think I've found it out.

Wait, this isn't a common concept? I thought everyone had this idea with Elspeth and Ajani going into Nyx to bring down Xenagos. :/I don't believe
I considered Kiora maybe helping but her single minded focus to save Zendikar will unlikely see her helping Theros unless she finds a method of pulling the Gods power outside of Theros and bring to Zendikar (an entirely plausible concept in the MTG multiverse) Though more than likely Kiora/Nissa/Sorin/Gideon will meet somewhere around the M16 core set. The next set is most likely going to revolve around the veil curse with Garruk taking the lead as a Golgari aligned Planeswalker with Lilliana and Jace featuring. I think it'll be at the end of that Arc that Sorin will appear and lead into the meeting of him and the three wanting to save Zendikar. (not that Sorin will be impressed with Nissa) I'm not sure though if that set will focus on possible mass character development for Nissa or if it'll lead straight back into Zendikar.
