It might be good against mono U, but I don't think any other decks are running enough gods to make it worth it.

It's still Instant Speed enchantment removal. I can see it as a sideboard card, maybe mainboard if Athreos starts dominating control too much.

Athreos is a fine value card, but I just don't see it ever dominating that much. Even if it did, I think people would go to D-sphere or the new O-ring first.

April 17, 2014 11:43 a.m.

There's still plenty of Enchantments and Enchantment creatures to hit. Idk if MUD will be the only thing it's good against, if we're looking at Archetypes, there's MBD's Underworld Connections and their SB Erebos, God of the Dead , then Monsters has Xenagos, God of Revels and Courser of Kruphix , and Control's Detention Sphere . It has it's uses against every deck even without the God bonus. Like raithe000 said it's still instant speed... and it cost 2.

April 17, 2014 11:46 a.m.

Banishing Light is an enchantment... (sorcery speed), it cost three, and can be removed from the battlefield. Completely different cards to compare.

MadDreams, that may be so, but you can't deny that O-ring would still be a better card in those cases, due to addition flexibility. I don't really think that control needs enchant removal 9-12.

Most control decks are already running a one-of Revoke Existence in the main, and outside of some rare instances of ganking someone's Elixir of Immortality there really are not any artifacts to care about. Deicide is a straight upgrade basically, and it's going to see play.

April 17, 2014 11:57 a.m.

I can agree with that, Banishing Light can be a better card in most cases, and its very flexible now to open up a control deck without U or a great addition to any deck.

April 17, 2014 12:33 p.m.

Considering the deck I wanted to run has Keranos, God of Storms as its wincon... I'm not a huge fan of this card...

I had to read this card 3 times before I realized it was "Deicide" and not "Decide". It makes so much more sense now.

I hereby dub this card, "Slaughter Existence."

TexasDice So... Your opponent can perma-exile all copies of a particular card in your library? Seems like a plan...

TitansFTW Just turn one of his basic lands into a creature and poof!

April 17, 2014 2:01 p.m.

This card makes me not want to play any God.

April 17, 2014 2:01 p.m.

What a huge middle finger to anyone that has already pre ordered any of the gods. (For standard use)

April 17, 2014 2:03 p.m.

Rayenous says... #19

This card makes me want to play a number of Gods... then when I play against White, side board them out, because they will be side boarding this in.

megawurmple says... #20

Yeah... Conspiracy only affects creatures you own/control. It does nothing to your opponents' stuff.

I sense that someone will be suggesting Donate very soon... wait, I just did.

O'ring or godsend or both mainboard, this sideboard.

Devonin says... #24

In places where you can use Deicide , Donate and Conspiracy together and might want to, you're already in the colours that don't really need a lot of fancy manoeuvres to keep the board clear.

April 17, 2014 2:43 p.m.

MisterRoach says... #25

True, but who doesn't like having fun with fancy maneuvers and crazy shenanigans?

April 17, 2014 2:50 p.m.

Um Donate wouldn't work with Conspiracy , right, 'cause when it comes into play under the new owner creature type is chosen. CMC is expensive. And, combo is complicated and lacking an inherent win condition. So... TexasDice, I don't think you could get it to work.

TexasDice says... #27

@TitansFTW Laboratory Maniac strikes again, muhahahaha!

April 17, 2014 5:21 p.m.

Ya' know what would totally work though, Shields of Velis Vel + Deicide + Enchanted Evening .

April 17, 2014 5:22 p.m.

And it can be mono-white for exiling all copies of all creatures on the board that your opponent has in hand, graveyard, and library.

April 17, 2014 5:23 p.m.

It's like the Spirit Mirror combo. But, three cards, and in Modern.

April 17, 2014 5:28 p.m.

Oh, No... nevermind, one creature, not all creatures.

April 17, 2014 5:43 p.m.

Devonin says... #32

@mercurial_golem You're wrong about donating Conspiracy . It doesn't leave and re-enter the battlefield, it just changes controllers. The choice made when it came into play would stand even if the controller changed to somebody else.

April 17, 2014 11:19 p.m.

I also want to mention... Mutavault , Mutavault is a God. HAHAHAHAHA

April 18, 2014 2:26 a.m.

But mutavault isn't an enchantment.

April 18, 2014 2:33 a.m.

Yes... Why do I listen to my friends before thinking. I'm an idiot its ok
