Favorite Card from Journey Into Nyx So Far?

Not sure why, but I am really drawn to Doomwake Giant (http://mythicspoiler.com/nyx/cards/doomwakegiant.html). It screams to be built around and it has a real sturdy body while not being over or undercosted.

The most obvious usage is in a mono-white midrange deck featuring Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Heliod, God of the Sun with a splash for black for the giant and other goodies.

Throw in a Spear of Heliod , Eidolon of Countless Battles , and maybe even God-Favored General for funsies.

What a bad deck! :-)

Maybe I just love giants.

For me it's got to be the cycle of Dictates, of which we only have 2 so far:

Mainly b/c I want to know how they complete the cycle and I want them in my decks.

Doomwake Giant reminds me of Noxious Ghoul , so I already love it. As for favorite card as of 4/8/14? I'd have to say... Eidolon of Blossoms. Basically, the entire constellation mechanic makes me smile.

Obviously Sigiled Starfish! I mean c'mon, a starfish, that can keep on scrying, that doesn't have defender and it's body for its CMC isn't even that bad

Also I am a big fan of...Sigiled Starfish. Him + Chromanticore will rule theros with an Iron rainbow colored star shaped fist (with the help of my deck meant to do this, of course CHROMANTISTAR OF DOOM!)

But in all seriousness, I am a huge fan of Iroas as well as Keranos. I'll be brewing around both of them, as well as picking up a playset of foil Keranos because that's gonna look sick.

Don't you mean rule Theros with an iron fish? Besides, Charging Badger is already Lord of Theros.

I love this set. I love it!!!

Born of the gods was terrible but this!!

I like both gods. Constellation is screaming to be built around extinguish all hope. The dictates freaking rock. Godsend is nice.. hall of triumph is double nice. Annnddd the green prerelease is nerdgasmic. I mean... dat flavor text. C'mon. Oh and spawn and the kraken r awesome for mono!!

Alizer313: Hey, Charging Badger don't care. Two weeks ago I saw a kid playing it in a draft, bestowing it up the wazoo, then attaching a Gorgon's Head to it. Then talking smack, saying to my friend every single play he made, "oh, you're going to hate me".

Dalektable: Keranos, is just pure value. Draw card or bolt you face. Hard to go wrong.

Dictate of the Twin Gods..... it's a game changer. - It combos, it's power, it's a surprise, it stacks... it's pure win!

Dakra Mystic is also quite nice. Combos, useful on it's own, has synergy with scry... a genuinely decent 1 drop for blue. I can see it possibly becoming the new one drop for MBD... if not right away, definitely after Rav Block cycles.

Keranos

April 8, 2014 10:53 p.m.

When I first read Keranos, I thought it was every turn and I immediately tried thinking of ways to utterly break that (EDH with all the flash, draw power, cantrips, and control I can get my hands on). Then I saw it was only your turns, which made me sad, but hey, still value.

I think Scourge of Fleets is probably my favorite creature (that is just a creature) so far.

Dictate of the Twin Gods is my favorite so far. Such a strong finisher, especially if you combine it with Iroas, God of Victory , Fabled Hero , and/or Madcap Skills .

Not sure of the specifics yet, I'm looking forward to the Golgari God.

So far this set has some of the most stunning artwork, many of these cards will look great as foils.

The blue heroic one that takes extra turns, Sage of Hours. SO high maintenance, I love it!

Keranos! He/she is just enough to push me into splashing red in UW control, him plus Thassa, God of the Sea is just great.

I'm going to have to go with Dictate of the Twin Gods, another Furnace of Rath for my Heartless Hidetsugu EDH!

If I leave aside the fact that I'm very happy that Iroas, God of Victory is playable, I'm subsequently pleased with the idea of playing Dictate of the Twin Gods in the middle of the next combat. That could be some fun shenanigans.

April 9, 2014 7:42 a.m.

Both Dictates are very cool and playable to me.

I'm not 100% convinced of the Dictate of Kruphix.

Howling Mine for 1 more mana, but you get the first extra draw. Seems okay... but only really useable in a group-hug scenario... if you can prevent your opponent from getting the advantage, it may be a bit better.

Currently, in Standard, perhaps Floodtide Serpent with it?

I like the new Ajani... but it's not my favourite card.

Sage of Hours is interesting... if you can find a way to get a consistent 5 counters every turn, it's a win..
Kalonian Hydra would do it... but if you're attacking with the Hydra for a couple turns, you don't need the extra turns.
The new Ajani can give him 3 counters per turn... would go a long way to getting unlimited turns.

I could even see going real cheesy...
2x Ivy Lane Denizen and Ooze Flux .
2 mana... remove a counter... get a 1/1 green ooze... get 2 counters.

You have Notion Thief to use with Dictate of Kruphix. Draw 2 on your turn and 1 on your opponents.

Godsend. Ajani is good and Setessan Tactics is an amazing card. And I don't even play white green.
