Flying Crane Technique (3RBW)

Instant (Rare)Untap all creatures you control

Creatures you control get doublestrike and flying until end of turn.

Awesome finisher. Works quite well with prowess and i just like it cuz its cool. There are no current english mock ups of it yet...

Looks really, really cool. Activate prowess then swing with doublestrike - that's fantastic. 6 mana is steep but probably where a card should be when it gives all yoru creature doublestrike and untaps them. Very versatile.

Good art, good flavour, good card. I'm not sure whether it will see play. What do you guys think? 6 mana for a card that depends on a good board state? It's a bit iffy. But I love it.

HEY. Stop giving the other colors Overrun ... :(

Versatile and powerful, but it's 3RUW, not RBW, right?

Flash DotTG to double damage, then use this and you get 4x. I just wish my best friends Boros Reckoner and Snapcaster Mage were here to see it...

Great for American creature heavy beaters.

ChiefBell: I still think it's best comparison is to Overrun , which ends games easily in the right decks.

Yeh but 1 mana more expensive and requiring 3 colours not 1 makes it also very different. Also overrun is in green which gives you big creatures, thus far jeskai hasn't given us massive 4/4s or 5/5s. It's actually fairly well balanced in that respect. The green guys seem to be getting big 4/4s whereas blue and white seem to be sticking to 2/2s and 3/3s. Anatomically the colours are made up differently. That's good balance though. If you could cast this card with a board of 5/5s it would be absurd. However casting it with a board of 2/2s and 3/3s is super threatening but not completely broken.

you people are forgetting that if Prowess is a thing, then Jeskai probably isn't getting many creatures in their decks.

September 3, 2014 1:16 p.m.

Cool card, doubt we see it in Standard though.

Spootyone says... #14

That could be true, TheRedDude. But even with a board of 3 creatures (let's say 2/2s) with prowess upon playing this means you're attacking for 18 flying damage. And it'll be 24 if you simply play something like Void Snare prior to that. That's 7 mana, but still.

September 3, 2014 1:19 p.m.

If you're willing to play six mana instants, you're probably willing to play the guild leader, too. Seeing as how that triggers on attack, you can cast those spells before they declare blockers, right? Seems fun.

While it'd require a boatload of mana, this could work well with the Outlast mechanic... But yeah, topping your curve with Narset, Enlightened Master and this would be nuts. Imagine a T4 Generator Servant into Narset, swing, reveal this and who knows what else.

This set has some of the coolest flavor of any set ever, and this may be the best one. I LOVE this card. It's exciting, it's powerful, it thuds when it hits the table, it interacts very well with the clan mechanic, and you get to play it off the general. EDH is probably the main home for this card, but I wouldn't be surprised if Narset made it into standard with this.

ducttapedeckbox, how about revealing Howl of the Horde and burn? Or walkers? It would be pretty bad ass to T4 Narset, Enlightened Master and then drop Elspeth, Sun's Champion for free. What about Dictate of the Twin Gods ? -That's a T4 12 to the face. Lots of possibilities here.

September 3, 2014 4:45 p.m.

@ Apoptosis -- Too bad revealing the new Sarkhan and having him attack that turn isn't a possibility. At least, in Standard that is. Possible in EDH with Teferi, Temporal Archmage , but that would be less impressive.

If we get more good artifacts (like Ghostfire Blade hints at), she could be used in an artifact build to dump Ugin's Nexus and Shrapnel Blast it for an extra turn. Yeah. so many possibilities.

Just to doublecheck...

If you cast this after declare attackers, your attackers will be flying double-strikers (until EOT), and still available to block in the opposition turn?

This is a game-winner on the attack, but can also do some pretty nasty things as a defensive combat trick. What, you thought you were alpha striking since I have no defenders? Nope.

I have been just waiting for some more of the jeskai cards to hit. This one did not disappoint in the least.

At 6 mana, this seems too expensive for constructed play. Obviously, cheating it out with Narset, Enlightened Master is the best case scenario, but Narset wants noncreature spells; this wants there to be creatures on the board.

Maybe the two could work in tandem with a token generator (Goblin Rabblemaster / Elspeth, Sun's Champion ) that gives you a board state while letting you fill your deck with things that Narset can cast.

I laughed so hard at this one when I first saw it. It's so funny! Probably not gonna see standard play a whole lot. But what the heck that card is cool!
