Guess the Green Magus!
Spoilers, Rumors, and Speculation forum

In the Time Spiral block, three cycles of magi were printed: one cycle inspired by iconic lands (i.e., Magus of the Tabernacle), one cycle inspired by famous enchantments (i.e., Magus of the Moat), and one cycle inspired by famous artifacts (i.e., Magus of the Disk).
In the past several Commander sets, there have been magi inspired by iconic instants and sorceries: Magus of the Will, Magus of the Wheel, Magus of the Mind, and, most recently, Magus of the Balance.
That leaves only a green magus left, so I now wish to speculate on what that magus shall be, and, more specifically, after what green instant or sorcery it shall be modeled.
As with the first four, such a magus will likely be modeled after a card that is on the reserved list or otherwise has not been reprinted in a long time, and also one that is both iconic and powerful; therefore, both Desert Twister and Tooth and Nail, for example, are not likely candidates.
What does everyone else say about this? What green instant or sorcery shall be used as the model for the final magus of this cycle? I eagerly await your responses.
Magus of the Candelabra is the green magus fir the artifact cycle. Op is looking for the instant/sorcery speculation. Magus of the Vineyard also wouldn't count.

Channel might work if the CMC is high enough. Or Berserk. Natural Order is a good call. There aren't that many overpowered green instants or sorceries.

Magus of the Order
Creature - Human Wizard
1G
3G, Tap, Sacrifice Magus of the Order: Search your library for a green creature card and put it on the battlefield. Then shuffle your library.
That's how I imagine the card.

Canadion, Add "Sacrifice another green creature" to the cost of the activated ability, and that looks solid.

legendofa, Canadion, I definitely agree that Natural Order seems to be the best candidate for what card would serve as the basis for a green magus.

legendofa, Arvail, I am very sorry about not noticing that.
shadow63, that card is too new; the other four magi were all modeled after cards that are from the early days of this game.

I have been wondering: what advantages do these magi, of all cycles, offer over the original cards after which they are modeled, beyond being able to attack and block? Is it that they are easier to reanimate, and, thus, use their abilities multiple times, the theory?

I think it does have a lot more to do with their re-usability, as even Eternal Witness is strictly more expensive than Regrowth, but is played over 500% more in Commander, according to EDHREC.

Well e witness has a lot more to do with it being a tutorable target. Like no one sane is playing rec sage because it's a 2/1 over nature's claim. The main advantage the magus cycle have, at least in my book, is that they lead to much more fun games for lower power groups. Reusability is great and all, and being able to tutor for your magus more easily is also fair, but it's really hard to be better than the cards the magus cycle was based on. That's sort of the point.

Arvail, cards of any type can be "tutored," although I have noticed that creatures seem to be the most popular, in that regard.

Green decks don't always splash for black, so it's way more efficient to use creatures than something like Ring of Three Wishes.
