Guilds of Ravnica Characters Returning

Personally I'm hoping they bring back Momir Vig, since he is one of my favorite MtG villains. Along with Garruk, cuz where has that guy been? What characters are you guys hoping make a return in the set?

Ild love to see a card for Crix someday, but I doubt that we would see that in a standard legal block. Maybe in a commander set someday?

I agree with getting to see what Garruk was up to, but after the mega-fight that is going to go down this block (and yes, I know it’s not technically a block anymore). I’d rather have him be his own story, then another accessory to Bolas’s ultimate quest for power.
And they need to give Fblthp his own card in the third set.

Teysa is 100% coming back ... she's on the cover of the new art book!
But here's what blew me away: Teysa's wearing Boros colors?!?
Sure she's got a Black cloak on, but that feels like a literal cover-up. Looks like her rebellion against the Ghost Council and relationship with Tajic (as told in Family Values) has gotten more serious ...

So I'm wondering now if we're going to see color shifts by the guide leaders, and that's gonna be the heart of thr main stories. Teysa to Mardu of course, but it's easy to imagine Vraska shifting to Simic due to Jace's influence.
That said GRN is focusing on Selesnya, Boros, Golgari, Izzet, and Dimir, so idk ...

clayperce Vraska first sultai planeswalker? I hope so.
I think Ral Zarek will play a role because Bolas mentioned him at the end of the Hour of Devastation stories.
I second wanting Emmara Tandris to be in the story; she’s such a loveable character.
Lavinia will obviously be there just to annoy the sanity out of Jace.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about Ral Zarek! Im wondering now if Bolas promised him leadership of the Izzet (like he did with Vraska and the Golgari)?

These sets likely have a showdown between the Gatewatch and Team Bolas, so it’s possible that we see Bolas with minions Liliana and Tezzeret. I can’t wait to see how Liliana reacts when she discovers Jace’s new love interest...good luck Vraska!
Speaking of Vraska, we should expect to see the Kraul’s new trump card: Umerilek, Mausoleum of the Erstwhile, mentioned in “Pride of the Kraul.”

Actually clayperce your article brought up a really good point about what's going on in Ravnica at the moment. All of them enemy combination have some form of internal struggle currently (Teysa's intent to topple the Obzedat, the struggles between the ruling elves in the Golgari and the Gorgons, kraul, etc., The merfolk taking control of the Simic, Ral vs Bolas for control and Feather being deposed by Aurelia) which, when mixed with the fact that the guildpact is gone from Ravnica for months could lead to boiling over tensions among the guild.
They stated already that the third set would be the conclusion of the current storyline (or at least the end result of Bolas' current plan) but something tells me the first two will be about the chaos on Ravnica without a guildpact preventing chaos.

If I had to guess I’d say we’re gonna get a brand new Ugin as he makes his return at the eleventh hour to kill his brother once and for all. I think we will get a new variant on the gatewatch members. As for Garruk, I don’t think we will be getting a new one anytime soon (although I would like it to end with them scooping him up and just saying “look, dragon.”) We may see Azor come back to claim his rightful throne. Not to mention I think bolas will drag along his two remaining bug friends (RIP. Scorpion). Lastly this may be an unpopular opinion but I believe we will see a return of the Praetors being bolas’ end game starting a new level of interplainer war and nuking new phyexia was Karn’s mission. Basically it would be bolas saying “if I can’t have all the power, no one will.” This could open up a new world of chaos, Atogs running wild on Kaladesh, Inquisitors of Inistrad going to convert other plains or the theros gods expanding their domain.

Definitely going to see Vraska, Mazirek, and the Kraul. She's promised the Golgari guild by the big guy Bolas.
Teysa was making moves last we knew. Hopefully see progress there too
