Hall of Triumph in MUD?

Hall of Triumph was a recently spoiled card that is a colorless artifact costing 3. It gives all creatures of a declared color +1/+1. Could this be used in Blue devotion decks (even though it supplies no devotion) to help those elementals survive if Master of Waves is killed? I'm thinking no, but I could be wrong.

While Hall of Triumph DOES cost 3, idk if it'd be a better play on turn 3 than Thassa, God of the Sea . Time will tell though...time will tell.

The creatures Master of Waves summons are in fact blue z2aaa so they would get the +1/+1. Still not sure it's worth it over Thassa though.

For the love of god, MUD is a Legacy deck, stop referring to Mono Blue as MUD.

well, MUD = Mono Blue Devotion in a Standard context

I think the hall of triumph could be worth a 1 or 2-of, although I guess that will have to be playtested.

For the love of god, fluffybunnypants, acronyms can gasp refer to more than one thing.

Anyway. Um. Constructive comment. It bears testing. On a perfect curve, though (one drop with one devotion, two drop with two devotion, three drop with three devotion, Master of Waves ) you've got 14 power dropping from Elementals with just a 3-drop devotion enabler, and with the Hall in the three drop slot, you've got 12 power from the elementals. Math doesn't work out.

erabel: That's actually counter-intuitive.

I mean, it probably comes down to "When I drop Master of Waves , do I want fewer creatures with more power or more creatures with less power?", and honestly, I'd rather have more creatures.

The thing is, not only does the Hall of Triumph buff the tokens, it buffs the rest of your guys as well. If we redo the 'power output' argument, it looks more like this:

1) You play Nightveil Specter on turn 3. You have 2 power from your Cloudfin Raptor (he's evolved twice), 1 power from your Frostburn Weird , 2 power from your Nightveil Specter , 2 power from Master of Waves , and 14 power in the tokens, totaling 21 power.

2) You play Hall of Triumph on turn 3. You have 3 power from your Raptor, 2 from your Weird, 3 from your Master and 12 from the tokens, totaling 20 power.

The second scenario is only 1 less power on the board. However, Hall of Triumph has a couple of advantages: it will make up for that one less power next time you play anything; it can survive a board wipe and help you recover afterwards; it brings Master of Waves out of the range of Last Breath ; and crucially, it means that if your Master is removed, you still have a bunch of tokens to fight on with instead of being left with nothing.

It's basically a matter of preference. Playtest and see what happens. That's probably your best option.
