So rumors of Swords to Plowshares and Brainstorm reprints. Just throwing out how crazy that kinda is, even in a Supplemental set.

But they're going to be bringing a lot of good EDH and Multiplayer cards back here, because, well, it's meant to be played in Multiplayer cames. Which is good for EDH players because it means, hopefully, reprints of some EDH staples. I look forward to it, the Conspiracy cards are interesting and would make cool twists on Casual games.

Magiclover318 says... #9

I just checked spoilers, I don't see any Reflecting Pool abiltiies on any cards.

May 17, 2014 5:49 p.m.

ryuzaki32667 says... #10

Its the card itself, Is the drafts in pods of 6 or 8, pretty sure it splits into 3 player games. I can forsee alot miss drafts with all the stuff that you have to keep track of.

00xtremeninja says... #11

so is this going to be a set sold at LGS only or will big box stores get these boosters as well?

May 17, 2014 6:13 p.m.

Magiclover318 says... #12

It's available everywhere, lgs and online. But I assume it's a very limited print run

May 17, 2014 6:14 p.m.

erabel says... #13

Magiclover318, Maro said that WotC will reprint if demand is high enough.

May 17, 2014 6:16 p.m.

Magiclover318 says... #14

Oh okay, I didn't see that.

May 17, 2014 6:17 p.m.

Servo_Token says... #15

I want Fact or Fiction s.

Could also use some Brainstorm s, hopefully with new art. (Duel deck art?)

May 17, 2014 6:31 p.m.

00xtremeninja says... #16

well, with Dack, Grixis lady for EDH, Reflecting pool, squirrels nest, I think there will be some high demand. Depending on what they do for lands might also add to demand. Might talk with my LGS to see what they offer on this set.

cschiller says... #17

To say I'm excited is an understatement.

May 17, 2014 7:34 p.m.

zandl says... #18

Swords to Plowshares and Brainstorm aren't rumors; they're in the set, confirmed.

I was watching the Conspiracy in-depth look video on the PT JOU stream this morning and they showed those cards.

May 17, 2014 7:37 p.m.

ryuzaki32667 says... #19

Did the video show any new art?

May 17, 2014 7:42 p.m.

cschiller says... #20

What rarity does everyone think Swords and Brainstorm will be placed?

I would love to play multiple in draft.

May 17, 2014 7:43 p.m.

zandl says... #21

Swords to Plowshares will probably be an uncommon and maybe a rare (doubtful - in one four-player game in the video, two different players cast their own copies).

Brainstorm may be a common, but I could definitely see the reasoning to finally bump it up to uncommon.

May 17, 2014 7:47 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #22

So the cards with the new styles are Conspiracy cards and function like a mix between Archenemy schemes and Commanders... Interesting.

May 17, 2014 8:03 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #23

Mortify , Silent Arbiter , Reflecting Pool , Fact or Fiction ... Wow. Color me impressed.

May 17, 2014 8:07 p.m.

cschiller says... #24

How can anyone say that legacy is a dead format when Wizards reprints cards like these?

May 17, 2014 8:14 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #25

I don't think people think Legacy is dead; a lot of people think that it's dying though, since it has a giant entry cost and Wizards has been pushing Modern real hard.

May 17, 2014 8:17 p.m.

zandl says... #26

People say Legacy is dead when Wizards reprints cards like these because - when was the last time you looked up how much the least expensive Underground Sea costs?

May 17, 2014 8:19 p.m.

00xtremeninja says... #27

so glad I sold my Reflecting Pool extras when I did, if there is alternate art then the price will stay or go up. if not, well then down goes the price.

May 17, 2014 9 p.m.

Named_Tawyny says... #28

So, looking at the Wizard's blurb on Conspiracy, we're told that 13 of the cards are not Vintage/Legacy legal. 12 of them are obvious (the Conspiracy cards and the Draft cards).

Any idea on the 13th? Is there another draft card that hasn't been spoiled yet?

May 17, 2014 10:50 p.m.

codebread says... #29

I'm really impressed with what Wizards is doing with this set. By promising to reprint on high demand and keeping MSRP booster prices at $3.99, they're allowing newer player a lot of accessibility to older staples. It's a pain not having any Swords to Plowshares or Fact or Fiction , and people don't often carry them for trades since they're either a) using them in a deck or b) only uncommons, not thought to put in a trade binder. But it's not just things like that. I don't even have access to my own Terastodon or Reflecting Pool , and it makes me really happy to know that Wizards is giving players like me a nod, and giving everyone an awesome new way to play too. This is probably the happiest I've been with Magic in a long time.

May 18, 2014 3:22 a.m.

zandl says... #32

Because it's going to happen.

We all know it.

"Hey! Guess what, fuckers! Swords and Brainstorm and the only way to get an incredible 3-drop Planeswalker and shit!"

Yup. $4 fo sho.

May 18, 2014 3:29 a.m.

codebread says... #33

Well, MSRP is $3.99, so overpricing boosters for $4.00 doesn't seem like a big deal to me. But I don't think that's really what you were implying.

I think that demand will start off high and gradually decrease as Wizards prints more and more. Then, like every set, it will probably rise to about $7.00 per booster once it's had its run. But if Wizards really keeps their promise to continually print, it shouldn't rise higher than $5.00.

May 18, 2014 4:11 a.m.

zandl says... #34

If they DO print as often as a normal expansion , then good for them. If that's the case, then they finally understand how to make money more efficiently.

May 18, 2014 4:13 a.m.

ChiefBell says... #35

They're going for SLIGHTLY more than normal price on preorder near me. I pay 3 british pounds, these are on for 3.50. Still speculation about whether its 24 or 36 boosters in a box though.

Very impressed with the set. Some lovely reprints for legacy. Of course this won't save the format given that the best lands for legacy are on the reserve list and some are approaching $500 each, but nonetheless - some fantastic cards in there, and I am certainly excited.

May 18, 2014 6:32 a.m.

I'm seriously excited to use advantagous proclamation

May 18, 2014 12:52 p.m.

00xtremeninja says... #37

Altar of Dementia being reprinted too, that's pretty cool. Love the Tempest era cards.

May 18, 2014 1:11 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #38

It's been confirmed that there are 36 boosters in a pack. Pre orders are around normal price for a box and boosters - so it looks like this is completely legit.

May 18, 2014 1:21 p.m.

codebread says... #39

The announcement of Conspiracy said that it would only be available in boosters. Or do they sell boxes in any case that they sell boosters? I'm new to box buying, but I might go for it with such a fun set like this.

May 18, 2014 5:13 p.m.

00xtremeninja says... #40

check with your LGS. The guy who runs the one by me will preorder anything you want and sell it at no crazy mark up. They should be able to hook you up if you ask.

May 18, 2014 5:15 p.m.

Grimaldii says... #41

Looks really interesting, it's like they contructed a set from fun cards and staples for EDH! I dunno what route to go though, I don't like drafting, but like codebread said, it looks so interesting I can't decide if I should buy in bulk or get singletons when it's released.

May 18, 2014 6:37 p.m.

shocked439 says... #42

If you're looking to preorder and your legs won't work with you check out card kingdom they already have preorders up and they're great!

Speaking of cards that make me excited for Conspiracy: Exploration . With new art. My Maze's End EDH deck needed a copy not at forty dollars. Ohmygoodnessssss.

May 20, 2014 12:14 a.m.

I like the new dethrone dragon. That guy is a game changer.

May 20, 2014 12:25 a.m.

codebread says... #45

Holy crap. This set is ridiculous. I pray that this isn't the last we see of Conspiracy.

Could someone explain to me how Backup Plan works? And why is Worldknit being printed; it seems hard to get online. Goddammit, there are so many amazing cards being printed.

May 20, 2014 3:27 a.m.

YouGotFranked says... #46

codebread Backup plan is easy to understand. when you draw your opening and, before deciding if you mulligan or not, you draw another, separate, hand of 7 cards. Then you choose which one you wish to keep (if you wish to keep any of them) and you shuffle the other one in your library. If none of them excites you, you can ship both back then mulligan to 6, but you only get 1 hand of 6.
