Maybe it's just me...
But I like the look of a 6/6 that can't be chumped by mana dorks and has the opponent eat 2 Lightning Bolt s when it's introduced to Doom Blade ...
And a creature that almost literally makes two of itself. Wow.
Limited bombs, definitely. I don't know about the Treefolk's viability in Standard since the ramp is not necessarily in the form of lands, but in devotion. I do like both of them a lot, though.
The Engine feels like the "Wurmcoil Engine " of the Souls cycle.

Haha, the Doom Engine is called Cuddling Doom Engine in its introductory article.

Doom engine with Life's Legacy draw 6 deal 6 seems good.

Ensoul Artifact is definitely interesting. Probably is low on Constructed applications, but I'll see if the U/R artifact theme carrys on into Khans. Unlikely, but we'll see.

I'm wondering if there's going to be a rules change with M15 that defines "base power and toughness". The wording on Ensoul Artifact makes me think it's coming.
I guess it makes it so no new player comes in thinking Dimir Charm will kill an Ornithopter with 3 +1/+1 counters on it? It'll help in some corner cases, methinks, but it isn't necessary per se.

erabel, the "base power and toughness" thing also makes it easier to understand that a Wurmcoil Engine or Darksteel Colossus become 5/5s with this thing attached.

This is seriously one of the best core sets since the Titans were released. I may actually return to Standard... 0o

I think this would be an awesome combo: turn 1 Ornithopter , land, 1 drop creature. turn 2, chief engineer. turn 3, play the doom engine. turn 4 attack. then cast 2 Shrapnel Blast s, sacking Ornithopter and the doom engine for 22 points of damage on turn 4.

The Doctor I agree, Probably the first time since John Finkel's Tinker Deck was legit too!

Its not surprising to me that Twinggrove and "Cuddling" Doom Engine. Both of these could easily be run in Mono Green. The doom engine along side life's legacy is a great way to get either the last few points of damage through if you are lacking ways to get through.
Twingrove isn't quite the value city that swagtusk was but I will never underestimate a creature card that hits the board with multiple copies of itself. Especially in limited where green offers cards that bounce like Invasive Species and Roaring Primadox. If you happen to also be running Paragon of Eternal Wilds you have your trample enabler and they are both even bigger... I kinda love the idea of mono green right now

Yeah those both look pretty cool. Looks like mono green might have some cool toys to play with. M15 definitely looks exciting.
