New Cards! :3

Serious tho, I really like this Hydra. Avoids some of the trouble of investing so much into a Hydra just for a board wipe to happen. Also, plays nice with Vorel of the Hull Clade.
The Lifelink guy seems good. Especially because he Outlasts for only 1 mana.

When I saw Hooded Hydra's name and picture I instantly imaged it wearing a jacket with hoodies on each of its heads. XS

Damn. That's easily my favorite art on any of the hydras.

Card image added: Hooded Hydra .
The other card is photoshopped, so it won't get a submission.

Lol, no mythic for abzan (other than anafenza) I need that hydra for my collection (only 10 to go before I have EVERY hydra art!) I'm liking the hydra too, and the morph is reasonable if you just can't muster up a good x cost

How is something a snake because it has snake heads? All Hydras Have serpentine heads !?

See the skin flaps TheRedDude? That is a characteristic well known to snakes. Hence the snake sub-type.

If they decided to put skin flaps on a lion, that doesnt automatically mean its a snake

WotC wanted a snake for sultai.... Green players like hydras.... Stick them together and apparently the heads of the heads of the hydra contain everything they need to survive after the body has died hence the snake tokens after death

I like Hooded Hydra , the concept is flavorful and full of breaking potential (Hooded Hydra +Purphoros, God of the Forge =very much yes). However, it's just another non-evasive fatty that kind of avoids removal for at least one turn. Then all the snakes get eaten up or relegated to chump blockers. That could be relevant, need to see the support staff around such a strat. This is also another Sultai marked creature that has no graveyard interaction, but some ETB chicanery (good word!) instead. Have they released any clues that sultai have something else up their sleeve besides graveyard loving?
Battle Priest I like as well. While I'm not a big fan of Outlast (mana cost, sorcery speed, and tap) I do like the one mana cost on this guy and already starting off with a decent body. Giving the outlast clan access to easy lifelink also makes sense.

in sticking with the snake creature type theme (kinda) they should have given it deathtouch or swampwalk

Abzan battle priest will be a sweet limited card, and the hydra will be a huge bomb for limited. For standard im not sure if the hydra will find a place but it is more than possible with RUG most likely going to be one of the big decks.

Dont judge a book by its cover, card, or physical classification

So if i play this Hydra in Junk and the opponent kills it, do i overvalue the potential of the tokenarmy i get in combination with the new Sorin, Solemn Visitor or the Abzan Ascendancy ? Would this Hydra have the Abzan-Clansymbol their resilient dragonscaleaspect would have been hit spot on.

That Hydra is just ridiculous. I love the damn thing and WILL find room for it in my mono-G devotion deck
Blizzicane says... #2
Because every set needs a Hydra. XP
