Hydra Broodmaster
This card is NUTS! First, it's a 6 mana 7/7. Second, it's monstrosity is INSANE! It's definitely going into my simic ramp deck that I can't post because no decklists allowed... What's everyone else's thoughts on it?

It will be my Giant Adephage replacement when the bug rotates out. Calling it right now.

Too bad it doesn't have trample, but that's what Nylea's for!

G/R Monsters welcomes its new addition to the family!

This is no doubt an awesome card, but I'll be the first to question whether it'll find a home in Standard. Since it's a 6-drop, it's competing with some very powerful cards, and you really can't afford to run more than 4 or 5 cards in that slot.

In G/R, you'd rather have Garruk, Caller of Beasts , Ruric Thar, the Unbowed , and/or Primeval Bounty .

In Simic, Garruk, Bounty, Prime Speaker Zegana , and AEtherling are all better options.

Maybe you could sneak it in Simic as a 1-of so you can spit out some Hydras the turn after casting it thanks to Prophet of Kruphix and add on some counters to each from Master Biomancer .

I'll toss a copy in mono green aggro. I don't think it's amazing, but it certainly can be good. I'm kind of getting a Nessian Wilds Ravager feel from this one. Sure, it's huge, but are you really going to use it?

I don't forsee this being a lynch-pin of any deck, but it could be pretty useful as a one or two of in a deck. Green decks specialize in absurd amounts of mana once you add Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Voyaging Satyr into the mix. Even Xenagos, The Reveler would get a kick out of it. If you're able to drop the 7 mana to get it into play, you're probably going to be able to spend at least 9 mana next turn, which pops out 4 4/4 Hydras. But I wouldn't be surprised if most decks than ran this hit the high teens/ low twenties on mana to monstrosity this pretty reliably.

It might not be the most efficient use of mana, but I think it would be pretty fun to pull off. I'm probably going to throw it in my deck.

I wouldn't be surprised if he became a big threat in my mono-green. He is a removal magnet, with a disappointing lack of trample, but Arbor Colossus has the same problems.

WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS?!?!?!?!? This thing is ridiculous. It is going to be a commander destroyer for green decks. It even works in standard. I LOVE green devotion and have been running it and different variants since Theros released. I stuck him in as a two or three of in my devotion deck and this is more of a "must answer immediately" threat than Polukranos or anything else in the deck. I got 5 5/5s out by turn four. Basically it turns into if the monstrosity resolves, it is game over. Of course, you side it out versus control, but versus anything else, it's a super powerhouse. And if you are going to refute how good this thing is, please don't use the "dies to removal" argument because that applies to anything. With a Garruk on the field, the argument becomes even more ridiculous.
