Is MTG completely done after Origins?

I feel like the guy I heard this from is full of it, but is it true that after Origins is printed, no more MTG sets will ever be printed? I think he read into the "last core set" to far. Is it just the last core set, then they will print more? Just not in Core Set style? It's got me kinda worried even though I know it's not very likely at all.

Battle for Zendikar is the next set after Origins. So MTG is not done lol

They are removing core sets after origins and switching to doing 2 two-set blocks a year. Your friend is incredibly wrong.

Sorry but this is a pretty funny question.
Origins, which comes out in July, will be the last core set they make. Core sets are sets like Magic 2015, Magic 2014, etc all the way down to Fourth Edition, Revised, Beta, Alpha. By last core set, they mean they will not be printing any more sets that bridge the gap between blocks, and instead will only print sets made in a specific plane with a story and everything. They will also only make two sets per block, which means we will see 2 blocks per year: one large set in Fall/Spring, and a smaller set to end that block in Winter/Summer.
Hope that answers your question

You can find all the details about future Magic releases here.
Just the release structure is changing. Releases are still coming. In fact, Battle for Zendikar is the next block after Origins.
These sets are all still printed sets. Nothing is online only. That's why they have separate release dates for Magic Online and the prerelease. Don't worry, paper cards and set releases of them will be around for a while yet.

I'm gonna miss core sets, but this change is for the better.

There will be no more Magic after Origins. Battle for Zendikar is an elaborate April Fools joke (see here for details).

Just for clarification, we can't say with any certainty that Origins is "The last core set they'll ever make". It is, however, the last core set they're planning on making. Wizards has been known to change their mind on things, depending on reception.

They change their minds on most things, except the one thing that matters - being the freaking Reserved List...

Exactly, kinda like how there have been 8 "last" seasons of Futurama, or kinda like how they "cancelled" Arrested Development.

This end is just the start of a new beginning.
Basically they shorten the time a card remains in standard... undecided if I like this change :-/ Cost-wise probably not in the long run...

They've shortened the length that some cards remain in standard, but lengthened the time that other cards will.

I like the change because it will make more people disillusioned with standard due to having to spend more money, and will prompt more people to take up EDH as a primary format, furthering my (evil) goals.

Shameless deck promoting is shameless (and obvious and annoying).
