See, this is a good charm. Playable in all aspects and fits very well with the playstyle of the clan. I'm liking this.

That is a heckuva charm. Griptide , a sorta Concussive Bolt or a Charge effect WITH LIFELINK? These all work very well with Prowess, as the first effect removes a blocker on the attack, the second makes a late-game swing even harder to stop, and the third effect with a team of Prowess guys is hideous life gapping.

This charm is the shit. Very, very playable, perhaps even in Modern.

Seems pretty cool. This definitely feels like a really midrangey format coming.

This is probably my favorite one. It seems like a real, reasonable upgrade from Azorius Charm . (if only it had card draw...)

Love it. "Crack my fetch?" -"In response, I'll Jeskai Charm and tuck that bitch."

Unforgivn_II says... #10

And by "that bitch" I mean whatever big creature is staring at you. Not the fetch.

It's pretty good, and it's literally the baby of Azorius Charm and Boros Charm . I personally still love Sultai Charm more, but this one is sweet.

Am I the only one who is meh about this charm? The other 3 we've seen are definitely powerful, but this one just doesn't do it for me...

September 8, 2014 3:42 p.m.

JWiley129 nope. I'm not head over heels on this one either. I was expecting some form of counter magic, but Temur got that.

I dont know, seems pretty bad...

September 8, 2014 4:39 p.m.

spyroswiz says... #15

xlaleclx you are propably kidding. It combines a pseudo-removal effect, 4 damage to the face AND giving your creatures +1/+1 AND lifelink its huge. I think its better than Sultai Charm .

September 8, 2014 4:44 p.m.

Are you guys being serious? this is way better than Mardu Charm , and I think better than temur charm. It is a great tempo card, and is good in any matchup. playing against big creatures? put one on top of the owner's deck. playing against little fast creatures? lifelink an pump your team. playing against control? burn their faces off.

GoldGhost012 says... #17

Hey guys, remember how useful Azorius Charm is/was? This card essentially, for one extra mana, upgrades two of Azorius Charm 's modes and steals burn from Boros Charm .

September 8, 2014 4:59 p.m.

slovakattack says... #18

GoldGhost012 I initially thought that too, but then I remembered that one of the most powerful aspects of Azorius Charm was it's card draw, which this does not have. If it did, it'd be like a mini Cryptic Command .

September 8, 2014 5:01 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #19

Fair enough, though since Jeskai seems surprisingly creature-based, this will flow nicely into their playstyle, particularly the last mode.

slovakattack says... #20

Oh, I'm not saying that it's bad by any means, but (as a modern guy) I think the hype bandwagon might be a tad too large.

September 8, 2014 5:05 p.m.

xlaleclx says... #21

Most powerful aspect of azorius definitely isn't drawing a card. The only time you ever do that is when you need to make a landdrop and you're desperate... Cycling a card isn't a powerful thing to be doing.

September 8, 2014 5:07 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #22

And you're probably right, this doesn't appear to fit current Modern American/Jeskai control as well as Azorius Charm .

subrosian says... #23

Awww man, I wanted a Lightning Helix mode. Haha

September 8, 2014 6:10 p.m.

um...I would play this over Azorius Charm any day. For 1, you have the damage mode, which is pretty good when UWR wins a lot through burn. You have the Griptide mode, which is a strict upgrade because the creature doesn't have to be attacking or blocking to use it. And then the lifelink mode, which is also a strict upgrade. Sure, it doesn't cycle, But I would rather burn my opponent out faster anyway.
