Karametra, God of the Harvests

Indestructible

Normal stuff

Whenever you cast a creature spell, you may search your library for a plains or forest and put it on the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library.

Maybe it's just based on first impressions and the wake of the ever-famous Emmara Tandris blunder, but I'm incredibly dissapointed in my guild's new "god". This card feels as though it would have little to no use in standard right off the bat, as a 5-drop ramp goddess. Devotion makes her good, of course, but what is G/W going to ramp into past 5 mana anyway? Mistcutter Hydra ? that's no devotion at all, practically. And what makes me more upset is that Most of what I've seen of these high-cost G/W cards still involve tokens, such as Advent of the Wurm and Pheres-band centaurs (I think is its name?)

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this will help make something like Armada Wurm viable in standard. I'm going to do my best to be part of the forefront to make this card work, but I'm just highly disappointed...

You run enough fixing to reach Karametra so the heart of the deck is Selesnya ramp. But then you also have like 4x Overgrown Tomb , 4x Stomping Ground , 4x Breeding Pool etc. From there you run nice big creatures.

Damn, I thought i was the only one planning to use it in a Bant Build. At worst, it thins out your deck, ensuring you don't top deck lands. Also, like the synergy (as previously stated) with the U/W god, casting creatures. Hope BNG brings more fatties to bring out!

Spootyone - I'd just like to makea point that Howl of the Night Pack you don't just play as early as possible unless your opponent is playing Thoughtseize. Howl gets better the more forests you have on the field, which Karametra gets for you. So no, this deck likes her a lot. Even if I don't have howl she lets me populate more.

Also, if anybody is interested, you can test the wolf deck here: Wolves of the Wild Lands

Speaking of Karametra helping in a 5-colour deck - Chromanticore.

Chromanticore looks fucking awesome and I think there's someone out there ready to make him work with Karametra. Unfortunately, that person will not be me :P I want to win too much.

I can't get over the fact it doesn't work with Advent of the Wurm .

Yeah, the whole casting a creature spell as opposed to creature entering the battlefield seems really anti-g/W right now. Granted, if it were the latter, she would be super OP.

If it were the latter, Sporemound would be OP.

If it were just enter the battlefield she definitely would be broken. I'm imagining a version of her like that and Avenger of Zendiakar....

Plus in standard she'd be broken as well with all the populate.

Or even just her plus Brimaz and Elspeth haha. My god the possibilities...

I should have read through all the comments before posting...I took a look at your deck, its pretty cool. A Hundred Howls this was mine, I might think about making it into something standard legal, maybe with Purphoros, God of the Forge in place of the Surge

Raised by Wolves would have been so good in Avacyn.

I swear I'm the only one in my area that loves Karametra.

if she were enter the battlefield, she would actually fit selesnya, if she were enter the battlefield she would break the living hell out of Avenger of Zendikar and Rampaging Baloths .

I made a bant deck and Karametra works out great, even though it's a one of. Mostly because the deck is flash with Prophet of Kruphix and Ephara, God of the Polis is in there too, but i like her in my deck.

Given how everyone seems to be swooning over Karametra in a Bant shell, I decided to take it in a new direction and go with Naya featuring Sporemound , Primeval Bounty , and Rubblehulk . Its finally a deck that revolves around Karametra to reach its full potential.

She makes a great commander. If Primeval Titan and Sylvan Primordial weren't banned that'd be some serious freaking mana ramping lmao.
