So M16 will be the last core set. Do you think they will make it go out with a bang, bring back the titans, birds of paradise and all the other amazing cards, hopefully not thragtusk though.

If they want to preserve standard as a format that will. I still see lili of the veil getting her print. No matter what though.
It seems tamiyo will be in place of jace though since they did say lore wise, she'll be the go to blue walker for now on

Also meant to say "won't" throw all the op cards in
January 24, 2015 3:10 p.m.
I don't think they will make it an overpowered set. That seems kind of stupid. Khans isn't that high in its own power level. I don't see liliana being reprinted in standard. I know they keep wanting to but also keep admitting that she's too fast, given that she's 3 mana and repeatable removal.

Honestly I'd love to see dark confidant and goyf hit standard again soon (not at the same time)
January 24, 2015 3:15 p.m.
Haha hahaha. We can dream. It can go alongside ancestral recall and necropotence.

At that point, you may as well toss in Shardless Agent and Baleful Strix, too. Shardless BUG sounds really fun in standard.

I don't goyf in a standard set would be as terrible as it sounds. He wouldn't have the amount of help he has in other formats
January 24, 2015 3:30 p.m.
Yeh when goyf was in standard before he was distinctly meh.

Doesn't Jace have to stay on Ravnica now? Sorry it's off topic, just curious. But I'd love to see the titans back and obviously Lili

I'm calling Coldsnap Part Deux. Coldsnap was 10 years after Iceage and it has been 10 years since Coldsnap. Return of Snow permanents and Skred Red.
(I know what you are going to say "Coldsnap was printed to finish the block" and "It hasn't been 10 years only 9". What I have to say to that is "lalala I'm not listening".)

Nah, Jace can move on and off Ravnica still, but he's very important to the plane's destiny now and has a huge responsibility that will keep him coming back.
I'd love to see more Zendikar-themed stuff in M16, especially things that give us a better idea of how the plane's evolving as the Eldrazi are destroying it.

It was Aaron forscythe who said tamiyo might be the new focus

Sweet. Gettin' real tired of Jace, to be honest. I mean I like him, but not when he's tossed into every new story there ever was just because "hey, remember me?"
January 24, 2015 3:56 p.m.
I want lightning bolt and thragtusk. I want to curve siege rhino into thragtusk.
January 24, 2015 5:17 p.m.
No, just no. No Thragtusk in M16, please. We don't need Siege Rhino running rampant with that companion. I am pretty excited to (hopefully) see Tamiyo in place of Jace. I would be perfectly happy with Tamiyo, the Moon Sage getting reprinted, but a new version would be sweet as well

nah, it won't be overpowered. a few good cards like any other core, but its just the end of the "noob sets" anyway, its not like a huge change.

I want this set named Delta. Delta for the significance of change.
Snapcaster Mage would make a lovely prowess enabler. Maybe we will say some dredge mechanics to work with delve and whip. I want more landfall cards too, and I mean, ACTUAL landfall cards. Cards that say landfall clearly on them. Not WotC habit of not putting the term landfall on cards it clearly fits on.

anybody wonder if they would make a special looking symbol for the set? one that says M16 but looks a little bit fancier or whatever as a send off?

Didnt they say no inistrad stuff geting reprints anytime soon or was that just for MM2015

KrosanTusker says... #24
That was just MM2. I don't know if Snappy would be considered too format-warping for Standard, but I guess they'd err on the side of caution with that. I would like to see a reprint, it just seems very unlikely.
January 29, 2015 11:04 a.m.
I dont think they will print the zendikar fetches in Dragons of Tarkir. This leads me to think that they will print them in M16 alongside lots of other fun zendikar block things. Eldrazi? :D
January 30, 2015 4:11 p.m.
I'm hoping for one of two things:
a. they print WHOLE SET in foil (improbable, but i'm allowed to dream)
b. reprint old, old cards with up-to-date Oracle text. and not just spells, include the creatures with corrected race/class
February 1, 2015 10:26 p.m.
Zendicar fetches are not likely to be printed in M16, but at least possible. They won't appear in DTK, because pain lands will be still standard legal. Additional fetches would make mana base too good, or render pain lands useless. Especially if DTK is less color intensive.
February 2, 2015 5:21 a.m.
FRF has so many colorless/artifact hints I think we should expect a not so colorful set. Hue Hue Hue... ok
February 2, 2015 8:52 a.m.
@brainac Fetches aren't great at fixing mana when we don't have dual land(type)s around. If they were to reprint the ZEN Fetches in DTK, the painlands would still be important pieces of many mana bases.
I think there will be a 5 land cycle in both DTK and M16. Standard may not need the additional fixing now, but it will certainly need it when KTK/FRF rotates out. Since DTK/M16 form their own psuedo block, it makes sense to include dual land support for the next standard environment. If that's the plan, I'd like to see them complete the cycles: enemy fetches in DTK and allied pains in M16.
February 2, 2015 9:43 a.m.
@jr92_2000 You're probably right about painlands, as people (including me) play even more painful Mana Confluence, but fetches are still the best lands in standard in my opinion. If I could, I would play more of them - maybe not 12 (3 playsets), but 8-9 would be fine I guess.
Epochalyptik says... #2
We'll probably see some returning icons, but we may also see a smaller focus on supporting Dragons of Tarkir (KTK and FRF will rotate together, leaving DTK in Standard with M16).
