I thought I'd make a generic M15 spoiler thread for discussion
So a lot of M15 spoilers are out and can be found online
here: MTGSalvation
or here: MythicSpoiler
For me: favourite cards are phytozoan, and military intelligence. I think both could be very powerful.
What do you like?

Soul seems playable in a midrange deck, this is the first M15 card I have wanted to acquire.

Ob Nixilis basically looks like a big middle finger to late game tutoring shame that doesn't really happen that much after turn 6 in any format except EDH. Master of Predicaments would be amazing if it has some form of protection or it was "during your upkeep" instead of "deals combat damage to player" looks like it will be amazing in limited though. Goblin Kaboomist looks like a joke although if you gather up enough mines before activating any of them he could do something.
I am wondering how many if any cards there is within black that force your opponent to search their library now though to make an EDH deck with Ob Nixilis.

All I can see with Ob is this: Marchesa, the Black Rose EDH.

I think I'll pick up Ob Nix just to toy with him in Modern, where his trigger is much more common. I really like Master of Predicaments though. Seems like a solid blue card.

I like the Goblin. Pure Timmy joy with this guy. New token (called Land Mine no less)? Check. Coin flips? Check. Goblin? Check! So many good things!
June 23, 2014 10:47 a.m.
@ CanadianSamurai without ramp Ob Nix will come down way too late to really matter. Maybe he can be used to beat Pod in a G/B Shell. 6 Mana is way too much though. If he was 4 CMC and his ability would deal like 5 Damage he could see play but 6 CMC? I don't think so...

I like this. The ability seems costed aggressively enough to be used.

This stuff is looking really exciting. The Soul of X cycle looks flavorful and some, like the New Phyrexian one, look immensely playable in Commander. At the very least.

@ Putrefy oh I know it's too expensive for competitive play, but I was thinking of something a little more fun.
June 23, 2014 11:43 a.m.
Play him in a green ramp shell and potentially have him out by T3. That's fun. Well, fun for you.

I was thinking Junk, since you get Path to Exile and if you have Ob out... well, it'd be magical!

Liliana Vess is apparently back instead of Liliana of the Dark Realms which i'm happy about because that version has so much more synergy with Waste Not.
Also~

That land is a waste of a rare slot. It actually wouldn't be THAT bad if the third ability didn't require you to control a sliver.
Slivers rotate out in a few months. We might have actually seen a usable Sliver deck pop up over the last year if this was printed in M14.

Rasta_Viking29 says... #18
That land will always retain casual playability. I like it.
Black soul is meh. Cool, spend turn 6-7 derping.

Like some have pointed out, tokens might be a thing in Khans of Tarkir. My guess is that there will be a focus not on tokens per se, but on quantities of creatures in play.
Theros had a lot of token generators (not just in white), and M15 adds something like 5-8 more. With what we know of KoT flavour being about the clash of armies, a "quantity matters" theme could potentially be a thing. I say this in contrast to Theros, where despite the phalanx/minotaur/zombie army flavour, there was a heavy focus on individual heroes (heroic?).
The M15 colour lords and planar souls might also be hinting at a monocolour set that will encourage players to be heavily invested in a particular colour.

Jesus. Wow. I'm sure everybody in the world who runs Superfriends with White is creaming their jeans with joy for this new Ajani!
I want one too, lol.

Bleh. It's great. Go buy Brimaz, King of Oreskos now while there's still some under $20.
As a red mage that ultimate makes me furious.

GoldGhost012 says... #26
That Ajani is super cool... But as a non-white mage I'd hate to play against it. It will be bonkers in probably at least EDH in addition to Standard.

Ohmigod, I just imagined curving Kiora into New Ajani. Bant control will go nut with these guys.
June 25, 2014 1:56 a.m.
Bant Walkers is going to dominate the next 3 months. Jace, Kiora, new Ajani, and Elspeth, plus the basic U/W Rev package, Brimaz, and Courser. I know what I'll be playing.
June 25, 2014 2:02 a.m.
He's not that good. Consider the fact that he's a 4-drop planes walker with no way to protect himself unless you already have a board state. His creature buff only lasts in your turn and is therefore very offensive but useless on the defensive. Overall he is board state dependent - and that's not what you want from a 4-drop. If you play him when you're behind - he won't help you much at all.
June 25, 2014 4:55 a.m.
There's another thread for Nissa, but I'll post the card here too to start some discussion.
June 25, 2014 5 a.m.
On the other hand the new Nissa is great because she does have a way to defend herself.
All the most successful planeswalkers in terms of competitive play do something to stop themselves from dying. Kiora prevents damage. Elspeth makes blockers. Jace weakens creatures. This ajani does none of those things. In fact all of the planeswalkers spoiled so far except nissa fail to do this.
June 25, 2014 5:01 a.m.
ChiefBell - Are you only counting new planeswalkers or are you including Chandra, Pyromaster ?
June 25, 2014 5:11 a.m.
Ohthenoises says... #35
@ChiefBell He DOES kinda protect himself. The thing that he tags with his +1 gains vigilance which means you can swing, gain some life, and still have a blocker.
What you say is true about him being board dependant though.
I envision this in Bant Superfriends: T3 Kiora, T4 this guy, T5 Elspeth. You -2 ajani when he comes out and after Elspeth. Kiora should be Ult ready on T5 with Elspeth at 6 loyalty.
June 25, 2014 7 a.m.
Yeh, that would work. But again, board dependent. It's kind of tricky having a 4-drop in a deck that does literally nothing if you're losing.

Also liking Sunblade Elf for a token superfriends build

Has anyone else noticed how all the planeswalkers are related to the planes their respective colors souls are from? I like that bit of flavor despite how useless the souls are.
June 25, 2014 8:40 a.m.
Ohthenoises says... #40
@beakedbard Chandra, Pyromaster and Liliana Vess are reprints and don't represent their soul colors.
Vess went to Innistrad but that isn't her native plane, that honor goes to Sorin Markov .

i love chandra _ lol more pyromaster= FUN and CARD draw :D
June 25, 2014 10:11 a.m.
Nissa and the new Ajani will definitely see a lot of Standard play. With Nissa' second ability seems ramp is making a comeback!
June 25, 2014 10:14 a.m.
beakedbard says... #43
I didn't say native plane at all i just said they have some relation to those planes Theros isn't Ajani's homeplane but he still has a strong relation to it like Liliana does with Innistrad. Sorry if my horrible grammar made that confusing. XD

I need to invest in a few Chandras. Her current incarnation is deliciously advantageous in terms of cards and...well, everything.

I'm sorry but wtf?
This is just broken on so many levels.
Welp, guess I'm dusting off my affinity deck.

He certainly does. Shame about the mana cost, but otherwise - really great.
