should we expect tainted land cycle? in line with liliana's story
February 8, 2015 2:14 p.m.
I don't know about all this. But if they print Lili's name on a card...I will be aquiring a minimum of 2 of them. :p Lili kicks ass.

pretty excited to see the origins. nice to see Nissa and Gideon getting some spotlight. i know they said recently they want Nissa to be the main green walker which is why they've sorta been phasing Garruk to G/B, wonder if the same will remain with Ajani being W/G and Gideon taking over as white...unless they revive Elspeth.

I'm not saying I'm hyped, but
OH MY NERD!
Holy shit, I was kind of super annoyed at having to leave Tarkir, because I'm absolutely into that theme but Origins sounds awesome.

i was hoping they would do a special looking symbol for it and they did. it looks really cool IMO.

I have to say, looking at the fact that Magic started with Alpha, I would have enjoyed if it was called Magic Omega.
But the icon is really cool, yup. I have never liked the Core-Set-Logos and this wins.

They spoiled a card already!
Chandra's fate
Sorcery 3R
Sacrifice a land. Then search your library for a red legendary creature or a red plainswalker, reveal that card, and put it in your hand. Then shuffle your library.

Looks good for a standard card. I see this being a cycle, with maybe the additional cost changing for each card.

That sounds like a great tutor for mono-red edh.

I think this card also massively points at the fact that we will have legendary creature versions of the Planeswalkers.
I expect a [Name]'s Fate-cycle, too.

i'm calling legendary creatures for the planeswalkers they're focussing on depicting what they were like before their spark, set sounds pretty sweet! Should've taken this approach to the core sets sooner.
February 8, 2015 4:03 p.m.
Maybe creatures that like get exiled and allow you to put the planeswalker into play once something is fulfilled in game. So for example you have a creature version of Chandra in play and you take 6 damage in a single turn; you get to exile the creature, search your library for the planeswalker and put it into play?
February 8, 2015 4:15 p.m.
....I was just trolling. Chandra got her spark when she burned her village down.
but it is kinda a nifty idea.

shinobigarth says... #28
ChiefBell, something that relates to that color? for Chandra's you take damage, for Lili's you sac a creature, Nissa maybe you have to tap so many forests, etc?
February 8, 2015 4:19 p.m.
So for Lili it could be like if 2 or 3 creatures die in a single turn? Nissan could be if you play like 3 creatures in a turn? Something on colour, yeah.
February 8, 2015 4:22 p.m.
just went from 6 to midnight. im a total lore whore and this gets me excited

Given Chandra's Fate actually is based on some facts: Chandra's Fate is something negative to you, I'd strongly assume that the other cards will have to have a negative effect on you, too. It would be unfair any other way. It's like: "Hey red, here, go lose some speed and have a card." and "Hey green, you're already doing really good, here, have some more advantage!"

"Nissan autocorrected to Nissan."

shinobigarth says... #35
HAHAHAHA my safari does the same thing lol i have to correct it every time.
yeah if they can get it to relate to how that person's spark ignited then that would be spectacular. Lili's would have to be something like "activate only if x creatures died this turn" as her's related to her brother dying. Chandra apparently either torched her village or it burned down some way so direct damage would make sense.
February 8, 2015 4:27 p.m.
They called her a healer, so I'd be surprised if pre-spark Lili isn't white.

@ChiefBell I imagine it will be similar to the level up mechanic.
Gideon the Farmer 1W
Ascension 3W
Ascension 1: Vigilance +0/+2
Ascension 2: Lifelink, +2/+1
Ascension 3: Exile Gideon the Farmer, Search your library for a card with the subtype Gideon and put it onto the battlefield.

This is Wizards last chance to have a core set that isn't super lame (anybody else still trying to forget 7?) They can really spice up the eternal formats flavor wise if done correctly.

This will be the last Core Set according to the new Rotation so I hope it is really good (so as to go out with a bang!
February 8, 2015 11:13 p.m.
for white Liliana, i am hoping for some Mother of Runes protection, or is that too much to ask?

IAmKingTony says... #49
making the creature versions be a different color than the planeswalker versions wouldn't make much sense with these Fate cards
unless the creature versions are multicolored, but even then it'd be weird casting Gideon's Fate to search up Lilliana
