MaRo's article got spoiled early, so we have some SPICY Previews with "new" mechanics!
TL;DR: Menace is replacing Intimidate & Landwalk, Prowess is now evergreen primary in Blue secondary in Red and maybe tertiary in White, and Protection is now deciduous used only as necessary.

GoldGhost012 - No, they made that announcement a while ago, I believe it was at one of the PAXes.

So...um the interface looks to be no different than last year's. Additionally, I didn't see availability on the Play Store on that trailer so no Android version? Meh.

JDMCRIB What that would mean is that rather than downloading a new game every year, you would simply download an update for the existing app which would update the game to next year's version.
Basically the Anti-Madden.

JDMCRIB - UrbanAnathema said the same thing I said on the previous page. But you can also read the press release or this artcile from The Examiner where one of the brand managers talks about the game.

That sounds pretty cool. Never been a huge fan of Duels, but that's a step in the right direction.

it looks really interesting. The spoiled burn card could be very potent in a all out burn deck...
edit: on second thought not really. It costs too much mana to do much except late game. Burn doesn't really want a late game.

Ravaging Blaze is trash for constructed but I dig the new Spell Mastery mechanic.
Chandra's Ignition on the other hand has some potential. Can function as a 5 mana Duneblast that damages your opponent as well. Of course cards that rely on other cards tend to under preform. Regardless I'm very intrigued.

taplands definitely not gonna come back. I doubt that they would want taplands and painlands in the same set.
Also duel of the planeswalkers has had cards like tropical island in them, and I doubt that we'll see those dual lands.

JWiley129 - You can't guarantee that serum visions wont be reprinted, u can only guarantee what you know. If your 100% sure its not being reprinted thats fine but they can reprint it a number of ways in origins (I believe most likely to be an Izzet themed card with some sort of Epic Experiment-like art)

Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #17
brad WotC has said explicitly that serum visions isn't being reprinted in origins
June 15, 2015 10:15 p.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird Thanks :) in the future tho link names using the little button of the person
June 15, 2015 10:18 p.m.
Brad7986 - Again, Wizards has said Serum Visions isn't in the set. Also Serum is solely a Mirrodin object. Mirrodin is not represented in Origins, so Serum Visions can't/won't show up.

Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #20
sorry brad usually do but Serum Visions is well known enough at this point that I don't. I often don't link cards that define formats just because I assume everyone knows them already. That being said it's probably a bad habit. If you don't play that format it might be an issue. I certainly link far more legacy cards than modern simply because the only legacy ones I know by name are things like Force of Will, Brainstorm, and the dual lands.
June 15, 2015 10:22 p.m.
JWiley129 serum can have different definitions on different planes
Serendipitous_Hummingbird though I agree with why u just said (concerning well known cards) I was mainly talking about user names, like tagging people your replying to :)

Aww dude imma make a deck around Terra Stomper card looks super sweet
June 15, 2015 11:53 p.m.
GoldGhost012 says... #25
No, Terra Stomper would be legal since its being reprinted in the Origins green sample deck.

I know but I was playing with other things. now that the new set looks totally different from the other block. I plan on switching the plan straight to Terra Stomper as my main card

And you guys do know we re going be to getting our ass kicked By ugin now that downfall is leaving. I just hope wizards planned for this
June 16, 2015 1:52 a.m.
I think in the Zendikar block there will be some sort of Eldrazi themed Hero's Downfall / Dreadbore card.
Whether or not the card will actually have the Tribal type "Eldrazi" type is entirely different. But given how powerful the Eldrazi are and the fact that they want more people to have access to walkers I don't see them leaving us without an answer for to long and it may take form as an eldrazi card.
Some type of single target All Is Dust or just a reprint of the original.
June 16, 2015 1:58 a.m.
Brad7986 - What part about "Serum is found only on Mirrodin" did you not get?

I just hope that we get reprints of that badass downfall that came out in those sultai structure packs.... I've been wanting to get my hands on my set but alas they allude me... Eldrazi card you say?

Yes the promo art one. It looks pretty Kool with the guy laying down in a daze saying Celeste...
June 16, 2015 2:07 a.m.
Also, why are you so so worried about ugin in standard? I'm not a standard player but I know that very few decks play him and if you get to 8 mana in standard the game should have either ended or someone is on the verge of winning anyways.
June 16, 2015 2:10 a.m.
IndepenentMeta says... #37
Not really man some of the games in standard take long periods of time to close off. I've gone into overtime a few times in standard tourneys. N yes very few decks run him but right now GW is on the teir list and would prolly rain even more help if we don't have an out for ugin
June 16, 2015 2:14 a.m.
Ok I just looked on you're profile and read epoch's statement to you and you still have this mentality? Listen if you aren't a troll then you need to stop making preposterous claims with no legitimate backup other then you're opinion. Powerful does not equal broken. Something being broken means it is oppressive and consistant,it needs both of these qualities in order to actually be broken or ban worthy. Ugin is only oppressive late game, in the right deck, if it is played right, and he is far from consistent as he costs 8 mana and is only played as a 2 of in very specific decks. Ugin is not a problem to any format nor will he be.
June 16, 2015 2:28 a.m.
I don't even know why I keep getting reeled into this...this is the spoiler thread.
June 16, 2015 2:29 a.m.
IndepenentMeta says... #40
I just simply said if there's no hero's downfall we are going to have a hard time beating ugin... Just like you would in a standard game where you didn't invest your money in downfalls but you have murderous cut...
June 16, 2015 2:34 a.m.
Yes,because when one player in the entire game of magic thinks a card is broken then it must be true!
June 16, 2015 2:40 a.m.
IndepenentMeta says... #44
Yes and I'm actually giving you what I call legit reasons to consider it broken.... But if you guys don't wanna believe it that's fine dude have fun being right all the time...
June 16, 2015 2:48 a.m.
@ seuvius: IndepenentMeta didn't say that Ugin, the Spirit Dragon was broken, merely that it is a problem. And Meta is absolutely right in the sense that if an Ugin is resolved against you it's a problem.
Anywho for something more constructive i'll point out that we also will have Utter End for awhile. yeah I know it's only for decks but it's something. It might turn out that Utter End is our only planeswalker removal for awhile. That would be pretty interesting.
June 16, 2015 2:49 a.m.
Wait IndepenentMeta do you actually think Ugin is broken? I was under the impression that you thought it was a problem but not OP.
June 16, 2015 2:50 a.m.
I'd be surprised if we don't get more seeing as origins will be heavy on planeswalkers but I could be completely wrong.
June 16, 2015 2:51 a.m.
IndepenentMeta says... #49
No I think it should make its way to the banned list of magic. But if you guys think other wise then yeah no it's not a problem ;)
June 16, 2015 2:53 a.m.
Oh yes, he definitely believes hes broken (or more than likely hes a huge troll.) he made a thread about it that caused a huge shitstorm on the site and if you look on his profile so many people are giving their claims as to why hes wrong, including epochalyptic who tried to help him out by giving him advice that he clearly has ignored.

Looks like the spoilers are coming from the teaser video for Magic Duels: Origins.
For those that are unaware, the Duels of the Planeswalkers video game is turning into a "persistent client" in Duels: Origins. So you won't have to buy/download a new copy of the game each year, instead you'll just get an update with the newest card set/block.
