MaRo's article got spoiled early, so we have some SPICY Previews with "new" mechanics!
TL;DR: Menace is replacing Intimidate & Landwalk, Prowess is now evergreen primary in Blue secondary in Red and maybe tertiary in White, and Protection is now deciduous used only as necessary.

Ugh. As if Elves wasn't annoying enough with Collected Company right now.
I'm not impressed with Jace, The Blue Ornithopter either. Good luck to anyone trying to flip that fucker in a Modern match.
Nissa is okay, I guess. Gideon is yummy.

Um... what? We knew we were gonna get elves... since Origins visits both Zendikar and Lorwyn (where Dwynen is from)... so yeah... the elves.

square711 Jace flips in delver, T3 7 cards in graveyard...? It'll definitely flip in Modern, it just will be niche playable.

I don't doubt that the issue is if they are going to be good or not. It would be nice to see a reprint of Elvish Archdruid.

She's definitely an Elf Lord. I don't really have any complaints about her either. I'm curious to see how much support she'll have in Limited. Otherwise I can't see myself gaining more than 2-3 life on each attack, unlike Wingmate Roc.

SwaggyMcSwagglepants: the problem isn't getting 5 cards on your graveyard. The problem is making a shitty 0/2 last a whole turn so it can tap on the next. Delver doesn't want to waste a play on a 2-drop that dies to bolt and just sits there for a turn, when they could be dropping Delver of Secrets Flip or Young Pyromancer instead.
IMO, they should've made his ability cost

, and be limited to one activation per turn. That way, he'd be as easy to flip as Liliana, for roughly the same mana cost, while still being vulnerable to instant-speed removal. As it is, even a Pyroclasm can kill him. sigh

JWiley129, seuvius, PutridLeech: How about just ignoring him if you get so upset at what IndepenentMeta. Jesus, just say "I'm not sure if it'll see a reprint." and leave it at that. You're making your criticism of the claims more like personal attacks. A lot of what he's saying may not make much sense, but oh well to each their own. And on the topic of serum visions, while serum exists only on Mirrodin, we could see a functional reprint (or something else similar like with Preordain). I personally doubt it but let the guy hope.
For real though, if you keep arguing back and talking about him, he's going to keep responding to you. I'm sick of reading several pages of this crap, all of you need to make your own thread to argue this crap out, but in here quit the shit-flinging.

For real though, people need to learn when to pick their fights. Sometimes it's just better to ignore people.
I really like Jace, Gideon, and Lilly so far. The other walkers have been relatively meh. I like that Alesha can snag Gideon.

I smell a new fun deck. Elf tribal aggro with Dwynen near the top of the curve. Add in Collected Company for shenanigans and splash white for Gideon. Though I doubt we will see many more powerful elves until Battle for Zendikar.

Gideon is definitely my favorite so far. I can't wait to see more cards from the set that'll be Gideon themed! I don't know what plane he's from, so will we see a reprint of Gideon's Avenger?
P.S. - When I say vaca, I mean yeaSavior put him on a temp ban. He was doing a lot of stuff around the site that he shouldn't have been doing. A lot of threads got closed from it too. We should just stop talking about it though.

Lhurgyof- I do agree that responding to IM, only makes him post more. However I don't think that my responses were personal attacks. The reason me and Jwiley kept responding, is that he kept derailing the tread and talking about things that have nothing to do with spoilers such as Gemstone Caverns in modern.
I hope we see a functional reprint of Preordain or Ponder, though I doubt it will happen

@NoviceMagician not necessarily as M12 was before Theros was ever visited in a block set or mentioned, it's quite possible he is a creature from another plane that Gideon visited or that he was intended to fit into Gideon's previous lore before it was changed.

Magicrafter: but Delver is a 1-drop, so if he gets bolted, it's an even trade. As for YP, he's only useless for a turn if you play him on turn 2, and even if you do, there's Gitaxian Probe to at least get a token. With Jace, you're inevitably waiting until next turn to get any benefit from him, regardless of when he's played.
Jace may not be as awful as I think he is, sure; but I don't think an aggro deck is the right home for him - he'll end up just screwing up your tempo. A control shell where you can afford to hold him off until it's safe would be a better fit IMO.

More Red artifacty goodness. At worst they're 4 power for 4 mana that can gain some incremental advantage by sacrificing artifacts.

4/4 spread over 3 cards for 4 mana isn't bad. 2 power in the air and the potential to be used as removal gives the card a lot more play. Not sure the power level is high enough for Standard though.

woot woot new legendary creature! We are getting closer and closer to the day where Doubling Season makes sense and you can build artifact decks with heavy red and green.
Deadeye Navigator + Pia and Kiran Nalaar + Doubling Season for extra token value woohoo!
They aren't the best but can be used as sacrifice fodder for a Shattergang Bros deck to.
My only problem is they didn't even get 3 toughness, much less 4.

Oh I didn't realize they were 1/1 Thopters. After my first brief scan I thought they were 0/2. 1/1 flyers is much better.

Very nice because it doesn't entirely die to removal given that the power and toughness is split between multiple cards. Lot's of flexibility there with the ability to ping 2 damage at creatures. Give artifact decks a way to damage players despite the opponent having blockers.
Very pretty art and flavour as well.
This is almost constructed playable - and could well be in a heavy artifact set but I just don't think in the current environment it will thrive.
