MaRo's article got spoiled early, so we have some SPICY Previews with "new" mechanics!
TL;DR: Menace is replacing Intimidate & Landwalk, Prowess is now evergreen primary in Blue secondary in Red and maybe tertiary in White, and Protection is now deciduous used only as necessary.

I think it'd be gold then, IvoryFrost. Trading life for cards or for mana is almost always a great deal. However, phyrexian mana isn't an evergreen ability so that card's very unlikely to be printed.
Does Funeral-Blade Predator remind anyone else of a smaller-scale Master of Cruelties for graveyard-based decks?

This might be a silly question, but would creatures who die during combat hit the graveyard before his second ability goes off?

Named_Tawyny - When the ability of the creature gets put on the stack, it will stay there until it resolves. Then, when it resolves, it will count the creatures in your graveyard. So yes, if a creature were to die in Combat, and his ability went on the stack, it would count those creatures.
It would even count himself if his trigger went on the stack and he somehow died before it resolved!

If you gave him +3/+3 and trample and he was blocked by a creature either with deathtouch or 7 power then his trigger would go on the stack with him in the graveyard

I'd love to use him in my Black/White Warrior deck for standard. I just throw my warriors at them with no regards to their safety and then when this guy hits them they'll be losing a heck of a lot of life. Not to mention that if you use Arashin Foremost on him then he will get double the effect :D

addaff I think Origins is gonna be a little focused on making Elves and Goblins a thing in Standard for them to try to make Slivers work as well.

Meh I hope the next set after Zendikar either focuses on wacky shenanigan type 
and 
seeing more play, or on Tribal like Lorwyn did. Of course by then Piledriver will rotate out but it's probably better standardwise if we end up getting some of the other Legacy played goblins.

I just want a sliver with hexproofor a haste sliver at 1 or 2 casting cost rather than 3...

Eh I agree with that much. The casting cost for M15 slivers is to damn high! It seems like WotC is starting to home in as far as Tribal Creature CMC goes, getting closer to the older modern Tribal cards or even legacy cards. Compare how expensive the M15 slivers are to the new Merfolk that bounces for an example of this.

seems really strong, I'd say better than Containment Priest for legacy as well, combo with Flickerwisp, gonna be getting my 4 of when it comes out, intrigued to see if it sees Standard play as it is a CoCo hoser

It is far inferior in the only Legacy deck playing Containment priest. It is a cheaper card though, for those on the budget D&T lists.

it seems better to me as legacy D+T uses AEther Vial a lot and they often end up hurting themselves as much, this has made it more of a sideboard card, however i feel this may be better, sure it doesnt have the body attached to it but it stops show and tell, elves (Natural Order), any token play among other lists, seems stronger to me

So I can Infinite Obliteration somebodies Siege Rhinos? All of a sudden I want to play standard again. Cuz I freakin hate Siege Rhino. So much. I mean could you imagine how much better Butcher of the Horde would have been if he didn't die to Stoke the Flames all the damn time back when he was new? He would have been the air equivalent of siege that's how good he would have been but noooooo! So yeah, now that I can hate the ever loving crap out of Siege Rhino I am gonna do it.
I can stop Collected Company's #1 card and half of Deathmist Raptor and the sacrifice effect of Whisperwood Elemental? Hells yeah!
Part of me thinks this was printed just due to CoCo and the other half of me fears some sort of monstrosity like Doubling Season may be on it's way, with lots of tokens to abuse it.
Then again I may be just over reacting. Maybe they printed thsi against CoCo and also Eldrazi Spawn Tokens, brought in as ETB of other cards.

Boza - Notably different from fire servant as it also affects red creatures you control. Essentially gives all your red creatures +1/+0 when they hit a player.
Not playable but still, a worthy difference.

That is indeed true and the ability works vs permanents, so even blocked creatures will benefit from the pump. However, it does not work on itself, which is weird and a bummer.

well essentially it gives your (red) guys +1/+0 constantly since it does +1 damage to permanents as well right? Not just players...

I've been saying Modern needs Containment Priest since I saw it spoiled in the Commander deck...
It's not quite priest, but Hallowed Moonlight will work when needed... also nice that it replaces itself.
Edit: Also nice that it works on tokens, where the Priest does not.

Hallowed Moonlight is rather neat, it's almost if not on par with Shadow of Doubt and should be a fine maindeck / sideboard card in control. I really like that it stops the Melria / Anafenza combo as well as CoCo and re-animator strategies. It's not a completely dead card against Twin either, at least buying a turn.

Infinite Obliteration is a sideboard card at best.
The Great Aurora doesn't seem Standard playable. For 9 mana I think you should of been able to put creatures into play.
Hallowed Moonlight could be a great sideboard card. Replacing itself makes it really good when the matchup calls for it.
Embermaw Hellion doesn't look terrible to me. If the opponent doesn't kill him they should be dead quick. Super red anthem. Could be a bulk rate though.
Funeral-Blade Predator kind of seems like a Nighthowler. Could be playable in the right situation.

I'm agreeing with you on everything except infinite obliteration. Most decks have a least 1 creature they run 4 of that makes the game tough for the opponent. You can get eidolon or rabble or piledriver in monored, ojutai in control, deathmist/siege/tasigur in abzan, and many more I can't think of at the moment :P
I'd run at least 2 of this card in pretty much any black deck except abzan, which is pretty refined. MBD would love this in my opinion though.

Infinite obliteration is not better than Slaughter Games. SG can't be countered and can hit any nonland card in your opponents deck.

All this time and no one else is excited about the Titan's Strength reprint?!? Come on now, it's an amazing card and it means it stays standard for a while longer. Lot's of amazing cards though, and to think we're only half way spoiled as of now, (133/272).
