Why the hell is this card a rare? That's a mistake right? I understand that blue rarely gets big creatures buttt.... whaaaa? For those of you that dont know, Mahamoti Djinn is getting a reprint in m15... someone enlighten me.

The funny thing is that this card will not even be in M15 boosters...

It's not even going to be in limited, it's only going to be in the blue 30 card starter deck.

Wow, Typhoid Rats for some rat tribal shenanigans.
Ajani's Pridemate will be good with Courser of Kruphix .
Cool decks to teach people with.

Interesting that some of these cards will NOT be in the M15 Boosters, but WILL be legal in Standard... Not that something like Mahamoti Djinn will see a lot go Standard play... but there may be some cards that could.
Also... collectors will have to pick one of these up just for the sake of having the M15 version of these cards.

...Terra Stomper (card number 284 of 269) for example.
6CMC 8/8 Trample that can't be countered... also provides 3 Devotion to green... could see sideboard play in a few G or G/X devotion decks.

Store owners should only be giving them out on the new player days or to new players however! Giving out one of each colour to a collector is a tad naughty! :P

Someone who doesn't play, and only collects could be classified as a "new player" if they decide to play...
Besides, allowing these cards to be legal for tournament play... but limiting them to new players... is that not a bit of a disadvantage for some?
After all, Terra Stomper was in Zendikar.... I was not playing during that time, but I'm not a "new player". Where's my Terra Stomper for use in Standard?

This is only a guess... they will likely include them in event decks and intro decks, so that they will be accessible by everybody.

I would class a new player as someone who has literally just got into it. Most collectors have played at some point and moved into collecting.
The new player days are designed for older players to go along whilst bringing new players to get into the game. So no problem with you getting a green deck when you go along.
The cards will no doubt end up being traded for and available online, plus the zendikar editions will no doubt get a spot in the sun at the same time.
I just know from experience of stores where the owners give out stuff like this with no real thought and it pisses me off a bit. It just ruins the name of the magic players who like to keep things fun and entertaining when you get people who do it.
To be fair my local store still has loads of the decks from m14, but it I don't think it's fair for older players to turn up and just get the decks when it defeats the idea of giving them out to newer players to play with in a fun environment.
I'll no doubt drag some friends along and play green myself for the Terra Stomper :P

My question is, will Terra Stomper be a Mistcutter Hydra replacement?

It doesn't need to replace it, they'll always be in standard together.
I'll still take the hydra over the stomper.

I never meant to insinuate that Mistcutter was rotating, I was wondering if people thought Terra Stomper would be stronger coming out of the side.
Either way, I think I've found my Giant Adephage replacement.

While there aren't any cards listed that are really going to impact standard, I found it interesting to note that the white deck has 4 exclusive cards and the blue deck only has 2, meanwhile all the other colors have 3.
I'd be tempted to call this blatant favoritism but we all know Wizards loves blue cards the most anyways haha.

Because it's a 5/6 flier for 6. That's extremely good for Limited, which is what all rarities are based on.
