So as someone who plays mono black alot, I was kind of excited to see this card. I personally think I will be testing this main board in my 3 drop slot instead of Nightveil Specter . A turn 3 5/5 flying in my opinion is just amazing, followed up by a turn 4 Desecration Demon ? ya. So what are other peoples opinions on this card. I have heard many mixed feelings, but I personally think he is good. you thoughts?

I think he's good. A turn three beat stick with flying is insane. His drawback isn't bad when you can kill your opponent way before the effect becomes an issue.

@devicer, ty.@knights I totaly agree, a 5/5 turn 3 is the biggest turn 3 drop (asside from mana dorks making a turn 4 drop come in turn 3) AND he has flying. desecration demon could be stopped, but this guy just come in and the draw being on you own step means that they have to use an instant removal to get rid of it and get the effect

I think once rotation hits he will go up in price. Same with Herald of Torment .

I'm gonna be using the demon in my rakdos aggro deck. Hope Rakdos gets some support in the core set, because when rotation hits my deck his gonna take a massive hit. =.=

@KnightsBattlecry001

I'm currently running him in Ravish the Meek and he's been improving my matchup against various meta monster decks by a ton. I struggled with those for a while. If we get no good tools for red post rotation, I've been looking to go mono black aggro. It's actually a heck of a lot better than it sounds right off the bat. You lose a lot of haste but your access to removal is fantastic and various bestows keep you from being 2-for-1ed while keeping early drops relevant later on.

@ TheDevicer I have thought about going mono black when rotation hits depending on what stuff we get for the core set and even the next block. I just don't like losing the speed that rakdos has.

I think he is at least worth trying. I have heard plenty of bad things about him, but I personally wouldn't want to see a 5/5 flier on turn 3. And the only bad things said about him are that the other player will draw into removal for him. I plan on trying out a dimir mix. perhaps Spell Rupture could be relevant in a build with Master of the Feast ,Herald of Torment and Desecration Demon . the idea being you will mostly want to be countering whatever kill spell your opponent will try to play on your fatties.

A 5/5 on turn 3 is amazing. Even if he gets in one-two hits before he gets removed he'll have done his job.
