So I'm in the process of creating my first ever EDH deck! Having a lot of fun and getting a lot of great feedback from the community. As I considered the options and differences between formats it struck me how different a card pool you draw from when creating a commander deck.
In fact the whole process is very similar to the situation modern is in, where certain staples are so rare they created an entire set in Modern Masters, to reprint certain popular staples.
Now EDH has the Commander decks and it looks like those are going to be printed fairly often as time goes by but do you think there's any chance of an entire set, non standard like Conspiracy or Modern Masters, dedicated to other formats.
Do you foresee a Commander Masters release in the future? I don't think it would have nearly as much an impact financially as the Modern Masters set but I can still see them finding more than enough cards to print such a set in Legendary creatures alone.
I think something like a Commander Masters would sell. It wouldn't have to just be legendary creatures. I mean there are popular commanders but when I think staples I think of cards like Demonic Tutor which basically finds it's way into any deck with black in it regardless of who the commander is. That's also a reason why I don't think it would be printed. A lot of commander staples are useful cards in other formats as well. A "Commander Masters" set would probably contain quite a few staples in other formats just as a way to appeal to non EDH players as well. It would essentially become a few reprints of great cards in a lot of formats with some EDH staples as well. Plus you run into a problem like MindAblaze! was getting at. There are cards that would be great to reprint for EDH purposes (like the ABUR duals) in order to bring down prices and allow casual players a chance to use some really good expensive cards that are typically unaffordable from a casual perspective. The problem is that what would be good for the casual format of EDH isn't necessarily good for the other formats. There are just some cards that they don't want to reprint and give more access too than there already is and a lot of those cards would be great to reprint for EDH to help bring down the price of staples. Legacy playable cards obviously hold a premium price which makes sense, but the downside is that for a casual format like EDH it means some cards are really tough to get even though they don't hold quite the same value in a deck where you can only run 1 copy of them.

I think Commander's Arsenal and the yearly Commander prints are going to be the best we get. FTV: Legends was something that contributed too.
Some of the biggest stumbling blocks for me are the lands, and obviously the Reserved List. Fetches and ABUR duals allow for a much stronger/faster game. They also drive the price of your deck through the roof. Stupid reserved list.
There are so many nuances to it that they can't do much more than they're doing now.
