Apologizing for misreading Shadowmage Infiltrator's number. That makes me feel pretty dumb.
Anyways, I am really excited to draft this. I like pretty much all of the spoilers so far for limited. All the archetypes they're going far all seem like loads of fun to play, even 5-color goodstuff, which I typically despise.
In other number-reading news, one hybrid card between Creakwood Liege and Fulminator Mage. (For real, this time, haha.)
May 6, 2015 3:56 p.m.
Yeah.. but there are a lot of hybrid-mana cards which could fall in that slot. - Figure of Destiny is the first one to come to mind though...
May 6, 2015 3:59 p.m.
Hmmm. Yeah. I think I'll just stop with those notices until something gets as close as Eldrazi Temple and Eye of Ugin.
Figure of Destiny does seem like the most possible thing for that spot, though. Can't think of any hybrids that really had a decent impact on the format except Figure.

I saw some vato running a deck that ran those guys and some judges familiar along wit some old school meta white card that made the chat room explode. It looked pretty fun I think it was a mono white deck thou
May 6, 2015 4:02 p.m.
Figure of Destiny doesn't scream auras, but it does have semi-synergy with my aforementioned aura archetype prediction.
May 6, 2015 4:07 p.m.
We've got Shadowmage Infiltrator in , what archetype does that leave us with? Unblockable/rogues? Mill? Perhaps we'll have some swords to throw onto this guy yet!

I've been thinking about Scion of the Wild and realized how close in spirit it is to Crusader of Odric. Of course, Crusader is 3cmc, too, but only , whereas Scion is ; that could account for the difference in rarity, as it'll be a bit harder to cast.

So the two land sets that I could see being in the set are the Hideaway lands (Shelldock Isle) or the Fastlands (Darkslick Shores) being downgraded to uncommons.
Anyone expecting Worm Harvest to be in the set to fit into the Tokens?
Also I'm totally going for Aggro as my draft archetype of choice, and Spirits as my second choice. Looks pretty hilarious.
May 6, 2015 4:53 p.m.
lemmingllama I don't think Worm Harvest fits, it's more of a dredge card, and tokens aren't very much the same as dredge.

Ugh since we re talks draft prolly not but it would be pretty Kool to see what would happen in a mill heavy deck with stuff like Commune with the Gods Grisly Salvage n such

Surprised we haven't seen a Blood Moon reprint. We've pretty much gotten most of the rest of the sideboard staples covered.
May 6, 2015 5:22 p.m.
Blood Moon was in MMA, so it could not see a reprint in MM15. Besides, I think people might riot should they open a Blood Moon in draft.
May 6, 2015 5:28 p.m.
Laboratory Maniac can't be in MM15 b/c the newest set in MM15 is New Phyrexia.
May 6, 2015 5:30 p.m.
JWiley129 we've seen some cards double up between MM1 and MM2 already. I don't think Blood Moon is the most riot-inducing card in a draft, it might not be playable in a limited setting, but at least it's worth a pretty penny. Leyline of Sanctity should provide equally as much riot-induction, although if Magmaw had turned out to be real, that card would cause more riots than anything in history (what a sad world we live in where Magmaw is the most riot-inducing ever).

Blood moon was in MM1 I rather them remake something different. Pretty excited about this set for now
May 6, 2015 5:31 p.m.
JWiley129 you're correct on the Laboratory Maniac, my bad. Gosh do I love that card.
May 6, 2015 5:33 p.m.
There is a HUGE difference between them reprinting Tarmogoyf and reprinting Blood Moon. This is ole goyf's third printing, Blood Moon has been printed 5 times. Plus, I could see Blood Moon taking a MM set off.
Also I said could not see a reprint. It also doesn't need one.

I mean the reality is... $27 for a sideboard card is rough. Also it would be useful in Draft at least against Eldrazi ramp especially if we're gonna get the Urza Lands.
May 6, 2015 5:34 p.m.
UrbanAnathema says... #23
I'm just saying being printed in MM1 doesn't seem to be a disqualifier for being printed in MM2015. I also believe it was one of the unofficial leaked spoilers which has thus far proven largely correct.
May 6, 2015 5:35 p.m.
Blood Moon was not on that list. And either way, I just don't see it. I'll gladly be proven wrong, but that's just me.

People always trip on good shit lol all the damn time
May 6, 2015 5:38 p.m.
IndepenentMeta The possibility of a Blood Moon reprint, in my mind it'll all come down to what nonbasics they give us for the 5 color deck, seeing as they're heavily leaning this set towards drafting.
May 6, 2015 5:38 p.m.
IndepenentMeta says... #28
I could be pretty positive about one of those reprint maybe by some miracle it could drop slightly in price. But damn would the draft suck with that thing in circulation.... Mainly red deck wins would win..
May 6, 2015 5:42 p.m.
Not really. Most drafts revolve around basic lands, and just a few nonbasics. Its way better than in constructed where often over 75% of your manabase is nonbasic. In draft itll often be the case that over 75% of your manabase IS basic.
May 6, 2015 6:06 p.m.
Of course it's way better in constructed, but it's like Leyline of Sanctity, if the draft environment turns out a specific way they could see draft sideboards at the worst.
May 6, 2015 6:09 p.m.
I'm going to go ahead and call out Simian Spirit Guide, it definitely is not the worst card in draft, it sometimes is actually quite good, and for a common is has a relatively high price tag.
May 6, 2015 7:30 p.m.
I could see Simian Spirit Guide. He would help out on the Eldrazi Ramp strategy nicely!

JWiley129: Just so you know, I think people misread your post. You said that Blood Moon could not be in MM15 because it was in MM1, but people thought you meant couldn't, i.e. it is impossible.
May 6, 2015 8:14 p.m.
that's fair enough, SimicPower. Again, the Internet's power to confuse meaning strikes again!

all i want are the tron lands, wurmcoil engine, and remand. Is that too much to ask for?
May 6, 2015 8:30 p.m.
probably with Remand and/or Wurmcoil Engine. I could see the Urza-tron lands appearing.
May 6, 2015 8:33 p.m.
IndepenentMeta says... #37
I had a 2x freakin Remand but my brother always feels entitled to my shit... Lol pisses me off
May 6, 2015 8:44 p.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #38
I certainly hope so JWiley129. It would bring my tron deck down from $200 to a much more manageable $150

Ugh I really never wanna see that card again
Freakin card only shows up wen u get robbed over 50 bucks...

It be nice to see shock lands reprint seeing as now modern uses fetches for shocks. It would only make sense...
May 6, 2015 8:50 p.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird says... #41
sorry meta the reprints only go through Scars, so no shocks, decays, snappies, lilis, thoughtseizes, or any of the fun ISD/RTR/THS/KTK toys
May 6, 2015 8:51 p.m.
Uh oh, the bunny in pants is here.
Quick! Throw carrots at him! Maybe that will appease him!
May 6, 2015 8:57 p.m.
The Tron lands actually seem highly likely. Currently, there's room for up to 11 lands in the set. (Basic lands count toward this total.) I'm assuming that we won't get a cycle of lands (well, maybe); rather, we'll get stuff like Primal Beyond and Reliquary Tower. If we're assuming the Tron lands get put in, that leaves room for up to 8 more lands. Any ideas?

It makes me so incredibly happy/confused/rage when the one and only IM shows up. So many paradoxical claims and thoughts.
But seriously, the archetypes are shaping up already for most pairs and I'm pumped. Spirits, tokens, elementals I'm guessing for U/R? I'm really hoping for some sweet Bitterblossom action in my drafts. And my favorite sideboard card ever in Surgical Extraction makes an appearance too!
May 6, 2015 9:09 p.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird - Shocks actually could show up b/c they were printed in Ravnica: City of Guilds first, but I don't think they will be. They will probably stick those lands in a Standard set like they did with RTR.
As far as IM is concerned. You need to learn more about Modern. most of what you say is straight bullshit b/c you don't know shit about the format. Go learn about the format, and then come back and talk.
May 6, 2015 9:15 p.m.
Thoughtseize could show up too... But man, you're pretty rude, he only made a mistake...
May 6, 2015 9:22 p.m.
Gideon17 - You must be new here. IM is a known troll and doesn't know as much as they claim to. Go look at his other comments and tell me differently.
Anyways, I believe Thoughtseize is ruled out due to number crunch. Because Thief of Hope is 100 and Vampire Lacerator is 101.

Hideaway lands would be a great way to allow any color to be able to use the Eldrazi... but in a draft environment, I don't think you would want that happening too often.
I suppose drafting both the land and the Eldrazi is unlikely... plus the chance of hitting it... then activating it...
Yeah it could work. - But I still think the 5-color theme needs a little fixing.
