Sanguine Bond on a creature.

Meh. Wizards seem to like sticking nice enchantments on overcosted creatures (Butcher of Malakir).

Personally I find this card to be... Well, awful. It's a relatively small for the cost and being a creature makes it much more susceptible to removal. This is awful if you're running it to combo with Exquisite Blood... And if you're not running that, you're making a lifegain deck, which is just... Bad. This card needed to have some way of gaining you life, because without that it's just a poorly designed card in terms of constructed.

I am very pleased by this card, as it is a creature version of Sanguine Bond; for only two more mana over that card, you get a 4/5 creature with flying, which I consider to be fairly efficient. My two complaints about it are that its power is too low; for seven mana, it should have been no less than a 5/5, and even a 6/5 or 5/6 would have been fair at that cost, as well. Second, it does not have lifelink or any other method for gaining its controller life, which would trigger its second ability, as does Archangel of Thune, but I supposed that that would make it too powerful.

Now, if WotC can create a creature version of Exquisite Blood, I shall be even more pleased.

I don't think it'd make it too powerful at all. I think some form of lifegain would make it somewhat playable haha... I might've been a bit harsh, I guess, but this card is definitely underwhelming.

On a sidenote though this card would be good if it were a 5/5 or a 5/6 for 6 with the ability "Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, gain 2 life". Then it's sizable enough to not die in combat, it's not too expensive since for 7 we could be playing Atarka, and it rewards running a bunch of removal (Something black likes to do). Plus isn't it a really black approach to punish weakness? (Hiding behind chump blockers)... I dunno I just feel like that'd be really flavorful)

Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond + Gut Shot = Win

Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond is self explanatory, and gut shot triggers the combo, gg
