What the hell Wotc? In Kamigawa snakes had arms and they were still snakes. It was hard to swallow at first but eventually Sakura-Tribe Elder made everybody a believer.

If it slithers like a snake and hisses like a snake, it's creature type should be snake.

The creature type Naga feels like such a waste. Snake tribal needs to flourish.

Well, Nagas are a part of Hindu/Buddhist mythology, so I can definitely see the reasoning. Snakes would be nice with Pharika, God of Affliction , though.

It should just have been a Naga Snake. It would be so much more cool! Obelisk of Urd buffing all my snakes! :D

Anything can be a snake, but Naga are a specific type of being, and, as you can see from the agent's source, they originate from far east mythology.

As mentioned above the Naga are not actually snake people. Though they have the form of snakes if you read here in ancient cultures they were actually deities that CHOSE snake like forms.

In all honesty the Kamigawa snakes or Orochi as they were titled are a different species in game lore so it makes sense that they look different and have a different name. Look at Seshiro the Anointed compared to Sidisi, Brood Tyrant
