So, I know we have a FRF thread, but I needed to spoil this card.
So, this is pretty sweet as a general! I mean, Dash?
It will never really become more expensive than 5 in cost!!
Thoughts?

Using the Dash ability is still casting him, so you will still have to pay the tax

What's that faction symbol? Looks like Mardu's wings, but with other stuff.

MasterThief are you sure about this? Isn't it the same with Derevi, Empyrial Tactician. If it's not, then it's sad....

Once it's bounced to hand it'll only cost 5. But it is cast with that ability, so it'll have the tax from the command zone.

Yep, Derevi, Empyrial Tactician ability doesn't use the word 'cast'. The ability Dash does use the word, unfortunately. At first I thought the same thing and freaked out. Then I realized the truth and went kinda meh

Meh. Not that great. Interesting to see a Rakdos keyword. Keywords for each two colour combination? Or perhaps just a mardu think stuck on a Rakdos card...... wouldn't make much sense though given dash costs RB. Hmm....

She's definitely an interesting Dragon, but there are more interesting Rakdos generals than her. She seems REALLY good in Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund decks though.

I can see him being useful as a general though in a very aggro dragon deck. If used correctly. For example: not casting him to stay on the field but instead recasting him over and over from hand. Something tells me there will be a ruling as to whether or not you can recast him from the command zone with his dash ability or not.

If anything, I see him having good synergy with Dragon Throne of Tarkir in a dragon deck. Because if multiple dragons attack and you use the ability from that, they don't just get +1/+0 for each dragon attacking, they'll also get +1/+1 equal to his power.

Which could be huge if you add in however many dragons you'll be using or specifically Utvara Hellkite
December 29, 2014 1:47 p.m.
dbpunk the funny thing about your Dragon Throne idea is that there's been speculation that this dragon's skeleton IS the dragon throne. I read somewhere that the throne was the skeleton of a lightning dragon, and she's (yes, she) been confirmed in art to be able to breathe lightning.

I'm going to say it's not great in commander. +1/+0 is just not that much. I know it is per dragon, but it still will rarely amount to a massive pump. It seems to fit well in Kaalia though.

seems like a good addition to my prosh deck, also dash looks to be a really good mechanic.

It's just really sad, that it can't be casted from the command zone from 5 cmc every time.... Either way, could this be played in standard? I know, we haven't seen that many FRF cards, but it seems quite cool with Stormbreath or Sarkhan! :D

NorthernRaven I think it's Standard playable. Seems great with Hordeling Outburst, Goblin Rabblemaster and swarm strategies in general.

I could see a rakdos based midrange/control deck that used Stormbreath Dragon, this, and Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker as finishers and ran crux of fate as a one sided board wipe.

someone build a deck with her, the Dragon Throne and all the dragons you can squeeze in. every dragon attacks and all get like +5/+0, then you use the throne ability and then everybody gets another +9/+9. add green to tastes and bring to a boil.

I'd like to argue otherwise that the pump, though small, could still push far in commander if it's combined with other tricks that go well in BR commander. For example: Conspiracy and token producers like Krenko, Mob Boss in a deck with her as the commander could really create a huge problem.

Mono colored Khans for each clan with hybrid mana abilities with the clans respective colors?A legendary dragon for each clan that has the other two colors is its cost that the Khan did not?seem like a good idea to me

I honestly feel like they're going to do another Elder dragon cycle though. Like this set may have 5 elder dragons that are allied dual color and then the next set will have the other 5 elder dragon that are enemy dual color in it.
December 29, 2014 6:08 p.m.
that sound plausible the only reason i thought this is because she has the Mardu clan symbol as a water mark
December 29, 2014 6:11 p.m.
Well my guess (pure speculation) is that the symbols on the allied colored dragons are going to follow the watermark of the only clan it could work in (WBG is the only enemy tricolored combination that has GW in it, BGU is the only one with UB in it, RWB is the only one with BR in it, URW is the only one with WU in it and GUR is the only one with RG in it). Since BR was only able to be played in RWB, aka Mardu, it's why the new legendary dragon has a very Mardu feel and the watermark.
In turn, I can see the enemy colored dragons being based around both clans that share a color combination with it (RWB and WBG both share WB, URW and GUR both share UR, WBG and BGU both share BG, RWB and URW both share RW and GUR and BGU both share GU). However, the more likely thing is that a certain clan will over take the other. For example, Mardu is more likely to get a RW dragon than a WB one because it's more in tune with the Aggro abilities of RW than with the more control/combo/life gain of WB. So I believe it should go something like this for legendary creatures:
Mardu(RWB): Red casted Khan with a W/B activated ability, RW dragon, BR dragon
Temur(GUR): Green casted Khan with a U/R ability, RG dragon, GU dragon
Abzan(WBG): White casted Khan with a B/G ability, WB Dragon, GW dragon
Jeskai(URW): Blue casted Khan with a R/W ability, WU dragon, UR dragon
Sultai(BGU): Black casted Khan with a G/U ability, BG dragon, UB dragon.
That's my prediction at least. And more than likely there will be one last cycle of legendary creatures including a Taigam creature in either Sultai or Jeskai colors (Or a mix of both)

Might be a decent commander, but both Bladewing the Risen and Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund could use him for Dragon tribal better.
