So with JOU dropping soon, and a taste of the set from the pre-release, what is the community's opinion on how the new standard will shape up?
Defend your answers with cards, reasons, and past experiences. If you disagree with someones opinion, give an educated answer on why their opinion may not be accurate to the new meta.

I'm assuming standard...
I'm thinking that not much will change. Mono black will dip in popularity a bit from all of the people wanting to try new things, some sort of aristocrats deck will pop up out of Athreos being a thing, and mono blue will be too afraid of Deicide to make any tournament results.

I was looking for primarily standard but if you have input on other formats feel free!

Mono Black will probably keep its hold on the metagame. Nothing has really shown up to shut it down, and the people who play it aren't the type to try out cute new decks. Instead, I think the people playing fringe stuff like RUG devotion are going to start looking for new brews.
I wouldn't be surprised if Athreos, God of Passage made a W/B aggro humans deck a real thing. It might only end up tier 1.5, but I think its power is real.
Mana Confluence is going to encourage players to brew aggressive multicolor decks. Aggro is going to get a real boost in power with just that card. The boost may not result in tournament success, but it is a boost nonetheless.

W/B Humans is going to become a bigger thing with Athreos, God of Passage The value you can get just by having your creatures die so you can get zombies from Xathrid Necromancer and your opponent still has to pay life to keep your humans from returning to your hand so you can keep setting the play to get more zombies is going to be a very scary build. I believe Cartel Aristocrat will make a return in the mentioned build.
There is already a brew using Ajani, Mentor of Heroes and Sage of Hours called Bant Grow. they played it on starcity here : http://www.starcitygames.com/article/28363_BBD-vs-CVM-Bant-Grow-vs-Jund-Midrange.html
MBAggro will pick up more heavily with Master of the Feast and Gnarled Scarhide two great new choices for the build.
Mono Red didn't get anything of good value so we might see that dip off the charts and pick back up shortly thereafter.
Green got a couple decent cards but nothing meta breaking.
I think all the current decks will remain except for MUD as it gets hosed by Deicide . It won't disappear completely but if MBD goes the expected B/w Devo transition then MUD will have a very hard time post board against everything that is playing white. For this reason I see Deicide just as good against the mentioned above B/W Humans build to remove Athreos before he becomes to big of a problem.

All I feel pretty sure about is that with Mana Confluence and all the scry lands available that 3-color decks are gonna get a lot more playable for the people wanting to play them (including myself), especially the MB or SB use of Deicide , I think it's a pretty scary card. But I just base my opinion on FNM's and Standard other nights of the week, I could care less about anything bigger than that, so I have no opinion on the state of what that will shape into.

Id love to say. Rdw is back due to prophetic flamespeaker. But there isn't enough aggressive stuff.

I'm kind of feeling Boros aggro. I don't know if anyone else is but I feel like Iroas is actually kind of a strong and a very strong finisher. Drop him, your creatures are semi-unblockable, turn sideways, win.
I'm surprised that people aren't getting hyped about a hyper aggressive RW deck with him in.......

Mono-red didn't get anything good??? Eidolon of the Great Revel gives 2 devotion and punishes decks for being efficient. In multiples, the only out to them safely will be Supreme Verdict . These guys will be a nightmare, and may also see play in eternal formats in RDW or just as a sideboard card against storm. I reckon Hypnotic Siren will make mono-blue be a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx devotion deck, and it may cut white entirely. Speaking of white, Godsend was a card i wasn't so sure of to begin with, but with the help of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx i reckon it may see some play. Mono-white also got 2 great removal options in Oppressive Rays and Banishing Light .

If it wasn't for the ludicrous amount of good removal and general dearth of durable and devotion adding creatures I would agree with you. As it stands, after having tried to make this work for literally the entire Theros block I have to say that, while Iroas, God of Victory really helps, the deck just isn't durable or consistent enough and until the next core set I don't know if it can really be a thing pre-rotation.

I think B/W Humans will be a thing, at least tier 1.5.With Athreos, God of Passage , Xathrid Necromancer and Cartel Aristocrat the deck is scary...

My predictions:
Black White Humans
- alternate Back/White/Red Humans splashing for Purphoros and Mogis in the side vs hexproof as well as Rakdos's Return for the B/W mirror. (sure have your creatures back, now discard them) Iroas could also be a nice touch as well, not sure about that one though.
Key cards Athreos, God of Passage , Xathrid Necromancer humans.
Bant Walkers
- alternat the Bant Grow with the sage combo and fathom chimera combo.
Key Cards - Ajani, Mentor of Heroes Jace, Architect of Thought (you get the point.
American Control
Keycards - Anger of the Gods (how to shut down B/W humans), Chained to the Rocks , Assemble the Legion , Counterflux
Red Blue Counter burn
- alternate Red Green Blue Counter Burn splashing for Kruphix and Clan Defiance and sideboard/mainboard Courser of Kruphix. (pst, I'll be playing this deck)
Keycards - Keranos, God of Storms , Anger of the Gods , Counterflux , Dictate of the Twin Gods burn spells (pref instances that hit creature or player)
Red Green X monsters - Monsters will never die in this format. Big thing take on humans, Domri and Courser are way to good together. we all know this deck. Also I think Polis Crusher will start to see more play, probably won't be a big threat until rotation.
- alternate aka specific Red Green Blue Monsters. Kruphix and Prophet of Kruphix make good times for monsters Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius also beats up storm breath dragon and grants even more card advantage.
Mono Black - Does this really need to be mentioned? Master of Feast just keeps it fuelled. I can't see mono black dying until after Ravnica rotates out and even then, if the next core set has Doomblade in it again I cannot see it leaving.
Constellation decks - This will be a thing. BWG is my guess because Eidolon of Blossoms is just too freaking good. Plus the Black Board wipe is brilliant.

Is this standard only thoughts or what formats are you asking about?
