Anyone else noticed the playmat for Dragons of Tarkir?
At quick glance, I would have said Izzet but looking again, maybe...Grixis? What do you think?
I'm going with BR, due to the Kolaghan brood in the background.

Looks like there are dragons from all broods in the background, and the spiral rock is the same as Crucible of the Spirit Dragon and Tomb of the Spirit Dragon.
I think Sarkhan becomes all colors and is empowered by Ugin. Ugin then goes off to get revenge on Bolas.

He could be Mono-G due his desire to simply exist alongside the dragons.

I think we'll probably see him as Red/Green again, like his original version. A part of me wouldn't be surprised if they just reprinted Sarkhan Vol, it fits fairly well.
I think it's more likely that we get something like "Sarkhan, Reborn", or "Sarkhan, Unleashed", etc. The whispers are gone, the influence of Bolas is gone, all is right in his world. Happy, free, powerful. Seems R/G to me.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and call a temur aligned version. Lots of green and red showing. He respected Yasova Dragonclaw, maybe adopting some of her traits. The white/blue hair is new. Maybe not a full on temur walker, but maybe in the possible combinations of colors.

Perhaps its just another picture i mean do we really need a forth Sarkhan? He's becoming the new Jace now all he needs is an overpowered banned in most formats version and he's sorted.

Did they not state that Sarkhan was literally part of the mardu clan? Not to say that he still is...because they no longer even know him but i'm wondering if he'll go full Jund? probs not. My bet is on RG since BR requires some level of insanity which unless the whole time thing re-drives him crazy it doesn't seem likely. WR sarkhan could be a thing I guess? that's more "justice" aligned which makes sense considering his thing with narset but the color scheme is really odd.

We've used every color for the planeswalkers in this set except for . And I'm 90% sure that they want color balance for the 'walkers in each block, so I believe that the new Sarkhan will be at least part . I feel like is too ingrained in his identity to leave, so we're looking at least for Sarkhan to be 
. I'll tell you one thin, I'll be waiting with bated breath trying to find out what our new Sarkhan has for us.
PS. I bet they spoil him at PAX East this weekend.

Visually he's clothed Temur-Favor. I just hope he's RG. I mean, Sarkhan Unbroken. Guys... Sarkhan's Original Colour-Alignment was RG, and if he's finally Unbroken again, he's most likely back to what he used to be. Dude will I pre-order four of this badass if he actually is RG.

I wonder if they could make him , where his starting loyalty is X and a -X ability where you can put a Dragon permanent with CMC X or less onto the field?

Playmat art is up there with the levels of FRF mat for me. Sooo pretty, just like most of the art on the set compared to other ones in my opinion.

Sarkhan is either R/G or jund. Blue does not fit his character at all.

I would kill for a RWB Sarkhan but seeing as Mardu is predominantly RB now, I'd think another RB Sarkhan.

canterlotguardian If Sarkhan is a 3 drop 
that can deal damage to opponents with either his + or - I'll be thrilled beyond belief because his abilities will work better than lily for my Rakdos deck. And I'd rather not shell out 80$ a piece

Is anyone going to point out that now that Ugin and Bolas' voices aren't in his head anymore, he's not looking nearly as haggard and threadbare as he did in Sarkhan Vol and Sarkhan the Mad?

Sarkhan is going to have green and red. he just restored natural order to a plane, green, and he turns into a dragon, red. maybe he'll have black as another color, but I can't imagine him having blue or white. they don't fit his actions.

yeah he won't have blue. theres nothing about him that says , and making him only playable in 3 colors doesnt seem likely for standard. he will of course be , thats a given. his other color will most likely be , but a small chance of .

He has a blue streak of hair now. On the PAX pin that streak is very blue while also showing us he has green and red. It is too blatantly obvious to be ignored or just a coincidence. People are reaching too far with their theories.

Or perhaps this is an alternate version of Sarkhan... the version which would have (did) come into being if he had been born on Tarkir while Dragons existed...
Essentially a William Riker / Thomas Riker situation (for those in the know of Star Trek lore). - This one could possibly just be a creature rather than a Planeswalker, as his spark may have never ignited (those eyes hint otherwise though... but he could wield magic without being a walker). - He would obviously have a different name as well, as 'Khan', and thus 'Sarkhan' are words no longer allowed to be spoken.
Just throwing ideas out there... not overly likely

@Rayenous - I think "Sarkhan" was actually a nickname given to him by the (original) Mardu in jest because of his actions. His actual name is just Vol.
Now, though, the name "Vol" is a Temur name likely due to Sarkhan's interaction with Yasova in the past. If Sarkhan's "current self" exists on Tarkir, he probably doesn't have the same name.

There's also a theory that he's taking over for Ugin as the overseer of Tarkir, gaining more power and all that while making sure stuff doesn't go crazy kinda like with Jace on Ravnica. That seems like a possibility but not sure if that would mean he would have to be colorless like Ugin which doesn't seem likely.

With the "planeswalkers" rule he would still have to be "sarkhan" as that is his sub type NOT "vol" unless like some one already stated he is just a creature cause Narset has ignited her spark maybe Sarkhan has not?

I like him. Maybe Temur Control can be a thing in standard? Maaaaybe? He isn't Modern playable sadly, but I like that +1 it's pretty great.
