Today the official site announced that there will be a cycle of uncommon slivers and a mythic rare for "sliver affianados". Any guesses on the mythic? It'll probably be a 7/7 for wubrg, but what ability? I'm thinking prevent all damage that would be dealt to slivers or indestructible.

I'm still not big on slivers, and really hope that this mythic one doesn't prove to be another commander staple... EDH Slivers is the worst...

Sorry, and thank you to ThatBlueMage for providing the link. I feel pretty confident it's legit coming off the wizards website. I feel like it will definitely see play in all sliver edh's, but won't know for sure until I see what it is. Any guesses?

Its hard to guess from this limited info, but since its in M15 maybe "all slivers have convoke"?

Sliver Legion and following in the foot steps of M14 "all slivers" will be changed to "slivers you control" is my guess.

I hope it's not convoke, they basically already have that with manaweft and gemhide.

If they make a Sliver with "Slivers you control have indestructible", I'll gtfo.

I really dislike the new art, but storywise I'm hoping that they stick with the theme of slivers beginning to take on characteristics of other species on Shandalar. Maybe slivers you control get "at the beginning of your upkeep, this creature becomes a copy of target creature you don't control".

MaelstromHobo what if you are up against a creatureless deck :S

It's odd, but was Slivers really ever a concern to anybody in Standard? There was maybe one deck at one point that made it into, like, the top 8 for Wyoming States 2013.
Other than that (and especially with the loss of Cavern of Souls ), Slivers just aren't viable in a format which is so heavily attuned to deal with aggressive decks.

MaelstromHobo- that would take away from the synergy of a tribal deck and be totally unplayable. They have made very weak mythics in the past but very few can be said to be unplayable. (I can think of 2 off the top of my head and I know people disagree with me on one of them and I would bet on people disagreeing with the other as well.)
Now with a differently templated version of that ability such as: " Slivers you control get "at the beginning of your upkeep, you may have this creature become a copy of target creature you don't control, except it is still a Sliver in addition to its other types and gains this ability."" it may be playable.

Slivers in Standard today are not a huge deal for most competitive builds, simply because Standard has so much removal. It's crazy. And Slivers punk to early and consistent removal, plain and simple.

You can destroy a Sliver deck with just a Doom Blade during the combat phase.

Not if they tutor out a Crystalline Sliver with Sliver Overlord and are able to flash it in due to Quick Sliver .
LOL @ DOOM BLADE FOOL.
I'm happy that there will be new slivers as i'll have new stuff to put in my sliver edh.

I don't think it'll be the clone thing, because then your slivers would lose their old abilities. And I don't think indestructible would be that unreasonable because it would still see close to no play being 5 colors.

This is standard... The only standard card either of you mentioned was Doom Blade ... In older formats it'll just be Damnation , or Emrakul, the Aeons Torn .

guys, I think zandl was talking standard, in which case he is correct. A single doomblade will stop slivers dead at the moment.

Also, it's worth noting that the humanoid slivers from M14 are curiously absent from this art.

I just want slivers to have flash and some form of protection again is that too much to ask?

Did not expect this, so awesome. I'm hoping for a graveyard hate sliver in the cycle of uncommons. One of the few toolbox tools still missing for edh slivers.

That's because the new mythic sliver can travel through time.
